We didn’t buy anything, but I wasn’t really expecting too. We were just looking around. There were a few clearance items that were tempting, but not really worth standing in line for. They get a little overcrowded in these stores, which leads to a bit of a sensory overload and you have to really watch your purse so you don’t knock things off the displays. I had come close to pushing a piece off onto the floor and caught it, a few minutes later another customer sent it crashing to the ground. Not only is it embarassing to knock off an item and make a loud noise, but I don’t necessarily want to buy something that might have been kicked around on the floor a few times. In this case, maybe less is more. You don’t have to display every single item you’ve ever made.

I’ve been the first to review for the Martin City, Overland Park, and now Olathe Pier 1s. Goodness, Unilocal,am I the only one who likes this place? I have a blast looking around in a Pier 1; I am filled with wonder trying to get my eye on every lovely thing that surrounds me. Furniture, kitchen things, pillows, holiday, candles, décor: they have everything you need to make your home stylish — or, if you’re decoration-challenged, at least make it look like you had a plan. In quality, Pier 1 is a step above Kirkland’s and on par with World Market. They’re a little on the pricey side if you walk in and get something at full price. I wish I could furnish our entire home with Pier 1 treasures, but I’m on a budget and have to gather things slowly and hold myself back when I go in such an intriguing store, even if it is a chain.
