Niji Sushi & Steak

I really enjoyed this place! The plate presentation was great! The food was high quality. I have been craving sushi for a couple weeks and while I was on a business trip I decided to try a new sushi place. So glad I picked this! I had some dumplings, and a Boston roll, spicy crab roll, and a chefs special buffalo roll. They were amazing. Although the buffalo was a little difficult for me cause I was hoping for a seared salmon and it was like a purée the texture was slightly off but I always try a new roll every time I get sushi.
After my lunch was done I decided to take home two more rolls for tonight’s dinner the spicy scallop and steak roll. Mmmmm I so excited!

Came here for lunch. Excellent prices, services, and food! Will definitely be coming back.

Food is always good there, and they have great lunch specials! I highly recommend you try this place.

This place is awesome always good staff is great highly recommend it you won’t be disappointed its 100 times better then all the high priced sushi places around town

We had the amazing crab as an appetizer. It was very good. We shared the cream cheese and crab roll. It was delicious, small, but plentiful. We also had the outstanding role. It was also very good with a very little spice. Finally, we had the applejack roll. It was very good as well.

Thought this place was great. Food was prepared very quickly by sushi chef, and with care. Lunch is a great value. Seaweed salad was a large portion, miso soup was very tasty. I had the Out of Control roll, was extremely good. Had them leave the mango out. Had Lady Pink Roll as well, was good. My lunch companion was very impressed as well. My now second favorite sushi place. Will most devotedly return and can highly recommend.

Ssooooo good! We’ve been here once before and it was very good, tonight was truly phenomenal! We had miso soup, seaweed salad some very fresh nigiri, a dragon roll, naruto roll and a volcano roll!

We had dinner here tonight, I ordered the Hibachi Chicken. Which included soup/​salad/​fried rice/​& veggies. It was excellent! I also had the California Roll, and we ordered a sushi regular. Everything was above our expectations! Large portions, great service, and the prices were reasonable! We will definitely go back!

The food and staff were just great. No hibachi grill but the finner combo was juicy and flavorful. Husband has sushi and he said it was great. Wonderful dinner will be back.

will NEVER go here again the WORST hibachi meal ive ever had in my life! we ordered shrimp and salmon hibachi dinner. what a waste of money! I seriously dont know why ppl r giving this place such a good review!

My husband and I come here all the time. We love it. The food is always fresh and service is great.

We live nearby so have tried it a few times. I recommend coming in for lunch for the best deal. Hibachi items are decent. Sushi isn’t too bad.

My hibachi steak was tender and juicy but it was a lil too salty for my taste. Not really big on sodium. I didn’t finish my lunch maybe coz I was still full from breakfast. Also had their crab and cream roll and salmon and avocado roll. That was good. It was less than $ 30 for two people so that wasn’t too bad…

This place is amazing! I do live close so there’s the convenience. But the food and service is on point. I’ve ate more expensive sushi bars and this holds a candle to most.
This is a great place for the casual sushi fan, for lunch and supper. If you want some place with more ambience, go pay more somewhere closer to the city. Just keep in mind that the sushi will be just as good here!

Loved it everything off the hibachi was amazing would recommend to anyone went there for mothers day no wait amazing service even better food.

I was super excited to see a new sushi spot so close to my house. My family and I have tried Niji a few times now and find it to be decent. We usually order the chicken or salmon hibachi lunch and some rolls. The flavor of the fried rice and salmon are pretty good. Definitely a good deal for lunch. The soups (miso and onion) were on the salty side. The salad dressing was decent, but when I mixed it with the yellow sauce that came with the hibachi, it was good. We tried the calamari and it was ok. I think that I just don’t like the batter that they use to fry. The hamachi kama was pretty good. We will probably just continue going for lunch. Don’t think some of the food is worth the dinner prices. We might give the specialty rolls another shot though…

This was our first visit and we brought all of the kids for lunch on their way out of town after Thanksgiving. We were pleasantly surprised at how good everything was. It’s located in a strip mall where the old DMV used to be and made us really hesitant to give it a try. I’m so glad we got over ourselves and went in! The décor is very welcoming and the staff was very helpful and friendly.
We tried several rolls and hubby had the sushi lunch with spicy tuna roll. Their sense of presentation on all of our items was incredible. It really made for a fun lunch! We enjoyed the Ridgeview roll, the Crazy Tuna (strong wasabi flavor, but I liked it), the Out of Control roll (pretty sweet), and Diamond Roll. A couple of people tried the miso soup and thought it was good. I thought it was a nice touch that they brought us a free order of edamame. I also had their salad and was very happy with it. It was a good portion, fresh lettuce and a nice salad dressing. We thought their prices were reasonable and I can’t wait to visit them again.

Yep that’s the sushi and sashimi boat for two ($ 50)! My wife and I learned a while ago that when we go for sushi we go big or go home so we almost always get a boat because that is how we roll!
Everything on our raw fish vessel was fresh and beautifully prepared. We had a great mix of sashimi, sushi and rolls. We were impressed with how quick our order showed up at our table but yet the presentation was great. Tasted as good as it looked!
We will be back here again and I can’t wait!

Olathe has a few good sushi places and Niji can be added to that list. Everything was amazing and delicious. The complimentary appetizer (I think it was spicy tuna and crunch wrapped in cucumber with seafood salad) was amazing. I could have enjoyed a few more of those and called it a day. I wasn’t expecting it so it made it tough to finish the delicious items I ordered, but that isn’t a bad thing!
I tried the Ridgeview roll. I don’t remember what all it had, but it was delicious. I would definitely recommend trying it. I also tried the salmon and tuna sashimi. The pieces were thick! And good quality.
The presentation was gorgeous. They certainly take the artistic side of sushi as serious as the quality of their product. Sitting at the sushi bar watching the chef prepare the plate with care and precision was enjoyable.
The place is clean and service is fantastic. The menu is big with plenty of variety to please everyone. I really appreciate that there is a good portion of the menu that is not fried, which seems to be the trend at a lot of sushi places. I also loved that they have a TV that displays the various rolls they have. Although they have good descriptions on the menu, seeing the roll prior to ordering is nice, especially for hesitant newbies to the sushi world.
Another huge plus is that they deliver sushi. In a market that is sandwich, pizza, and Chinese as your only delivery options, this is a nice alternative! They are pretty strict with the 5 mile delivery zone which makes me getting delivery a no at 5.1 miles. That may actually be a good thing because after trying them, I could see me having to sell the pug to the circus to fund my sushi deliveries!
Stop and give them a try, you will not be disappointed!
