This was the only ice cream shop that I noticed during my trip to Ojai, that’s probably why it’s always packed. I came in here twice during my weekend stay, trying different flavors each time. The ice cream is ok. And don’t expect the inside of the shop to be fancy at all. I fell in love with their homemade fudges though. So good.

There was an ice cream shop in town so we made a point of visiting because, well, it’s ice cream. The shop was clean and has a selection of candy as well as a great assortment of ice cream flavors, including many that are seasonal. Help was prompt and they allow you to sample the flavors, which is nice. The scoops are generous and the ice cream is solidly good. I would definitely go again if I were in the area and in the mood for ice cream. It’s not the best I’ve had, but it’s certainly good.

came out on a bike ride for the day with the boyfriend. it was a little bit of a hot day, so when we got into the little town we came across this ice cream shop. after looking through the variety of flavors we each decided on what we wanted. The texture and creaminess of this ice cream was delicious, you can tell it was homemade. five stars for the quality !!! recommended spot to try if you love ice cream as much as we do.

What can I say? I’m a sucker for ice cream, especially when I’m out of town. Stumbled upon Ojai Ice Cream while walking in this main strip of Ojai’s downtown. Made a mental note to save room in the stomach since this area has a LOT of eateries/shops. Imagine 6 – 7 ice cream fanatics coming in all wanting samples. The 2 staff members were some what patient with all of us, no smiles with the service. At the end, I went with 1 scoop of banana fudge in a bowl. Unfortunately, the texture of the ice cream was super soupy so I had to quickly eat it before drinking it. The weather was warm, but I don’t think that was the problem. I had couple bites of other people’s ice cream flavors. The peach tasted gross, overly artificial. Cookies and cream was as expected. Candy and toys also found throughout the shop. $ 3.50 for a scoop. My overall experience was eh…

Updating our previous review. They now get 5 stars for improvements to how cold they keep the ice cream, AND for longer business hours during the evening. Muy bueno!

Closes really early. Too early. This place should stay open later. I’m in town for the Storytelling festival along with thousands of others. Looking for ice cream after Friday and Saturday nights show.

The smell of, fresh cones drives me wild. Ice cream, fudge, and candies, too. Small, and narrow, it’s shop ’til you drop. Mouthfuls, and handfuls, a calorie or two(thousand?). I needed a fix, and I needed it bad. Peanut Butter Chocolate, and Banana Fudge. Handmade ice cream, not creamy or soft. Good flavor, but no texture. I may return, upon need of another fix.

Yummy! Loved the pumpkin chocolate chip flavor — it had a very balanced taste, kind of a cinnamon and pumpkin spice flavor, with the right amount of chocolate chips throughout, and not too sweet, which I love. I think we ordered the smallest size in a waffle bowl, and it was enough for 2 to share and be satisfied :) The waffle bowl was kinda dry, but the ice cream helped with that!

We watched as one of the two girls behind the counter climbed onto the counter with her flip flops and stood there walking on the counter in her SHOES changing the writing on the board. When she was done she climbed off the counter and did not even bother to wipe it down where she had been walking. I just wondered what else they didn’t take proper care of. My husband went ahead and ordered chocolate chip which had few chips(looked more like vanilla) and wasn’t really creamy. Did I mention she walked on the counter with her shoes and didnt clean the counter afterwards? Seriously, don’t they have a ladder?

I’ve been here several times and in general my experiences have been very positive. The staff has always been polite and friendly and have helped people in order. I have to take a star off for the ice cream today though. My favorite flavor is Chocolate Raspberry Rum Truffle and one of the things I like about this ice cream is it has a bold flavor and you can taste the rum in it. Not today. :(Today the ice cream was so unflavorful I could taste neither chocolate nor raspberry nor rum! What did it taste like? Cold… I had a sundae so it tasted like«ice cream» with your standard sundae toppings. Attractive presentation and I like their selection of candy, fudge and chocolate. Their ice cream is all made in-house, but something wasn’t right with the batch I got. Update: The Vanilla Caramel fudge is very good! The texture is nice and smooth and the flavor is lovely, but not overpoweringly sweet. With caramel on top, the flavor ratio and interaction is very well done. I would highly recommend this.

While visiting a friend in Ojai, I wanted some ice cream and was brought to this ice cream shop. Everything about it screamed old school ice cream parlour with all the candy and random odds and ends. I got a pumpkin chocolate chip ice cream, which was pretty tasty. The guy serving us didn’t seem to be enjoying his job very much, but nonetheless still provided good service. If I visit Ojai again, I will be back.

Ice cream that is less creamy than icy, real freezer tub work, real disappointing since it’s such a cute little parlor. Maybe for that reason, that it has an attractive appearance, is why this is a popular local spot. All the ice depletes the flavor, which I can’t get over. I wouldn’t call the place a total wash. Their cookies, fudge and candy are much better, I particularly enjoyed the Chocolate Cashew Turtles. #middling

Exercise caution when ordering. I got a «double» in a bowl(chocolate chip & vanilla caramel) thinking it would be a scoop of each. Oh no, this was probably a full pint of ice cream. Great tasting stuff, but that was a bit too much ice cream even in the 90+ degree weather outside.

Smelled so good! Cute little classic shop. We had the gelato and they make their own waffle cones there! Little chocolates weren’t amazing but their fudge sure looked appealing. The boys behind the counter were very nice. Even think they gave us a slight deal =]

Came here with my hubby on Sunday 4÷17÷11, as we were craving a good ice cream cone. We walked in and immediately smelled the chocolate fudge. YUM!!! :) This place sold ice cream, fudge and an assortment of candy. Two young girls were working the counter. They were overall pretty nice and helpful. I tried their home made blueberry ice cream. It was pretty good! Creamy and not overly sweet. Definitely a flavor you don’t often see. So I decided to have a scoop of this on a sugar cone. My husband had a scoop of strawberry ice cream on a cone. It was good, but I know I have experienced better. Tasted a little like evaporated or condensed milk. But he seemed to like it, which was all that mattered to me. A little on the pricey side. It came to $ 6.50 for our 2 one scoop cones. Overall, an A-OK ice cream shop, that has a really nice small town feel to it.
