I love this place. I grew up at Ohiopyle, and this spot is exactly the kind of restaurant that is meant to be on the mountain. The food is cheap, delicious, and prepared quickly. I’ve never eaten the same thing twice, and I’ve never had a bad dish here. I recommend getting the sesame dressing on your side salad or to dip fries in. Yum. ADDEDBONUS: they have ice cream, smoothies, and homemade chocolates. If you’re not diggin the ice cream flavors, Falls City Market is(I believe) owned by the same folks and they usually have different flavors. Try the Mountain berry cheesecake and the Cinnamon bun. Trust me. Staff is friendly, and I’ve shared a giggle or two with a few of them after some long days with friends on the river.

The staff boasted that gyros were their specialty dish. I ordered one and found the very heavily breaded sandwich loaded with yogurt sauce and raw onions and maybe 3 morsels of chicken. Not only is the food terrible, along with flat soda, but the staff was incredibly nasty. This area really depends on the summer to make money as it is a very popular kayaking area, but with food and staff like this, I am surprised it stays in business.

Bike ride from Connellsville to Ohiopyle and stopped here for lunch. Place was fairly busy. Establishment was pleasant looking and clean. Plenty of picnic tables outside with umbrellas, but limited seating inside. Counter staff very friendly and efficient. Very large menu. My mouth was watering watching food come out of the kitchen while I was in line to order. Food was prepared quite quickly. Wife had summer hummer wrap and I had southwestern wrap, both vegetarian. Wife really enjoyed hers, but may have had a bit too much mayo. I tried it and you could taste each ingredient. The southwestern was equally good. Just right amount of spices and heat. I liked the fries, too. Restroom could have been cleaner. Overall, very good.

We decided to spend the last two days of our vacation unplanned. We ended up in Ohiopyle at lunchtime and happened upon the Firefly Grill. It appears to be a typical small town ice cream parlor with picnic tables outside and just a few tables inside. A look inside the menu shows much more. While there are the typical grill items(burgers, gyros, hot dogs), there is a vast array of specialty sandwiches and wraps. I ordered the club wrap. It was a perfect mix of meat and veggies on a 12″ tomato tortilla. It was served as a cold wrap. It had just enough crispy bacon to make the sandwich tasty, but not too much as to overwhelm the flavor son the sandwich. The salad with it had a generous helping of mixed greens with cucumber, tomatoes, onions and a handful of cheddar cheese. My wife ordered the grilled veggie wrap. This also had a tomato tortilla. There was a tasty mix of veggies including red pepper, mushrooms, broccoli, onions, maybe eggplant with a balsamic dressing. It was served warm and hit the spot after too many days of Pennsylvanian meat and starch fare. We topped it off with the home cut fries. Fabulously crispy and tasty. The portions were on the larger side, so there was no room for ice cream. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area.

A really simple, nothing-fancy kind of place with a few sandwich, wrap and burger choices. There seems to be a fair number of vegetarian options as well. Just step up to the counter, order your food and take a seat. Outdoor bench seating under umbrellas make you feel like you’re in a resort town, in case you haven’t figured that out yet.

Not many things sweeter than Ohiopyle on a Monday when the tsunami of visitors is gone. We shared the outdoor picnic tables in the sun with one other couple. Menu choices were creative and offer vegetarian options. Staff was engaging and friendly. They know the town and park well so they offered us ideas in how to spend our time. Prices were reasonable, we had two lunches and drinks $ 22. They also have icecream.

My wife and I visited here for lunch. I had the veggie flatbread wrap with a side salad and a mango smoothie. The veggie wrap was very good. It had pesto with fresh broccoli, cucumber, peppers, onions, and feta cheese. The salad was fairly basic but had a good homemade toasted sesame dressing. The mango smoothie was a bit disappointment as it was expensive and essentially crushed ice and mango juice. More of an icee drink than a smoothie. My wife had the grilled chicken ciabatta, with fries and cole slaw. I had total food envy! The sandwich was very good, the fries were crispy, and the cole slaw was very good as well. She also had fresh squeezed lemonade which disappeared quickly. Overall, a good meal. The two of us ate for under $ 30 and they had ample seating for us outside. We would definitely return.

In June 2014 I got a peach smoothie there. I was expecting to see a peach go into a blender, but no such luck. Instead, they grabbed a carton of peach juice out of the fridge, poured a cup of that, added a little Sprite and some ice. The prep took 30 seconds at most. That was not worth $ 5! It appears that all of their«cooking» is optimized for speed, not taste. In Oct. 2010, I ate there on a Sunday afternoon and had the veggie pesto ciabatta. Although their food is better than much of the other mediocre fare available in over-touristed Ohiopyle, there’s much room for improvement here. There were no forks available when I received my order. I asked, the cashier grumbled, barked some comments to the people in the back and a couple of minutes later, a basket of them arrived, but the first two I pulled out looked dirty, so I took the third and rubbed it down for a minute with a napkin on the assumption that it hadn’t really been washed. I love pesto, but my sandwich was overloaded with it, as if it had been squeezed out of a squeeze bottle like ketchup. The cooks should learn that more is not always better. It’s 11 miles away, but Lucky Dog Café in Confluence has much better food and a nicer atmosphere.

I’m teetering between 2 and 3 stars. 2.5 would be fair. In a regular location(i.e. a city with more choices) I would not bother eating at this place. The food is fine. It satisfies your hunger, while not necessarily stimulating any taste buds. However, in the small town of Ohiopyle, PA, this is one of your better options. From Unilocal reviews, Ohiopyle bakery may be the best choice, but my lunch mates had already been there several times so off to Firefly we went. Positives: The staff member we interacted with was extra jovial with a side of sarcasm/humor. The food to table service was fast. They have lots of outdoor seating with umbrellas for shade. Nice setting for people watching and relaxing. The gyro was the only thing that got more than an «it’s okay» at our table. They have about 12 – 20 flavors of ice cream. Prices are reasonable. Neutral to negative: My burger was house made but had no flavor. It was cooked however the grill guy felt like cooking it. The fries are hand cut(yum) but were undercooked and sans seasoning. They also didn’t take the time to cut the bad parts off of the potato so some of my fries had black spots. Not too appetizing. Minimal indoor seating. They had finished the breakfast buffet about an hour or so before we arrived, yet the food was still sitting out in the open. The bathroom was dirtier than a bad gas station bathroom.

Food was just okay. We chose this place for the vegetarian options, which were limited, at best. Food arrived on paper plates and it looked to be assembled by a teenager. Really no presentation and none of us were particularly pressed.
