Transco Moving & Storage

Like the other reviewer, I would give this company negative stars if I could. It started when they showed up late this morning (after arriving late to the pre-​move survey last week) and it went downhill from there. I answered the door to find three people on my doorstep with no company identification. They even drove their personal car to my house with boxes in the trunk. As soon as they entered my house, they reaked of tobacco, alcohol, and probably some other substances. They said that they forgot to bring markers and had to run to Wal-​Mart. When they came back and started packing, one team member quickly showed no experience packing. She was ripping the tape with her teeth, and refused a box cutter when I offered it. I called my employer to report the situation, who contacted the company owner, Scott. The owner called the team lead and described my complaints and then the phone was passed to me. The owner started making excuses and never apologized. Then it got awkward. I hung up and the packers asked me what the problem was. I said that I expected them to be punctual, wear company uniforms (at least a t-​shirt), and be prepared to pack my house without a last minute shopping trip. The female packer rolled her eyes and the team lead made up more excuses, albeit more creative than the owner came up with. Again, no apologies. As I was talking they walked away from me and started packing, ignoring me when I asked if they needed water. I called the inspector from my employer, and after his report was complete, I called the owner to have the packers removed from my house. Fortunately, my move coordinator was able to get a new moving company within an hour and they were life savers. Alpha Moving and Storage showed up with seven guys, in two company trucks, all wearing company t-​shirts. They politely asked for a tour of the goods to be packed, and then got to work with all proper materials. As they were inspecting boxes that Transco packed, they noticed oil leaking from one box into two other boxes. The leaking box was labeled «Kids Toys.» When they opened the box I realized that Tiki torches full of oil were packed upside-​down on top of childrens play mats and toys. Transco successfully ruined a box of my stuff within an hour of packing, and I had my first claim before the pack was even complete. Alpha proceeded to inspect all other boxes and found other discrepancies, like clean things packed with dirty shoes. Alpha is a professional company with very polite and capable employees, whereas Transco is the opposite. Stay away from this company at all costs.

Update on my review, the check they gave me for my refund bounced and I got charged -$ 10 for it, so now I’m out $ 181.00.
What a joke!
