It was the worst. Ordered the Cali Club. Looks the same in the menu as the regular Club, just has different ingredients. When I got it, much less than advertised. Granted one of the people with me got the regular Club sandwich, so you think you would make essentialy the same sandwich the same way as one going to one table. Okay, whatever. When I unwrapped my silverware, the butter knife looked like I used it to spread, well, butter. But I hadn’t used it. Someone did, and I got their leftovers. Thanks. My mother ordered a sirloin steak. This was a special advertised outside the restaurant as you drove into the parking lot. She ordered medium rare. It comes WEEEELLDONE. It looks gross. All of this takes place twenty minutes after ordering. Restaurant was NOT busy. I take her steak to the waitress(the only one working, by reading the comments you might notice a trend. A trend you would think Denny’s would change since it causes so much disappointment and loss of revenue.) and she takes it back to the kitchen. A girl comes back out with the plate. We will learn later that she is a manager. She informs my mother that their steaks are frozen and none were pulled out to defrost. And that she ONLY learned of that when her order came back. So she cooked, cooked mind you, it in the microwave. Then put it on the grill. Then put it under the heat lamp. Where it sat for quite some time. So she will comp it if she still wants to eat it, but she can’t cook another steak the way she ORDERED it, ’cause yeah, frozen. It tasted disgusting and was dry as you swallowed it. Mom then orderd a cheeseburger. A cheeseburger that came out with no cheese. Oh, and no frys, had to wait for those to come out later… damn good thing she didn’t have to pay for that either. How bad is a place when the MANAGER doesn’t know how to cook the food? Or have the intelligence to not try and cook a frozen steak to medium rare? Just tell us from the get go, will order something else then. Save everyone the hassle and her some embarrassment and loss of product. Don’t try to eat here. You will not happy.

We waited over an hour for horrible horrible food. Spaghetti was microwaved and clumped together. Meatballs tasted like vomit. My moms chicken strips were so hard you couldn’t chew them. Dino nuggets were freezer burned and not edible. Wouldn’t go back here if it were the only thing left to eat. Save your money and go elsewhere.

This is one of the worst breakfast places I have ever visited while on the road. The service was slow and the food was cold and unappetizing. Most of the kitchen staff were sitting in the booths by the kitchen. This place could use a good cleaning and new management.

We stayed overnight in the hotel attached to this Dennys. We checked in and were given Dennys breakfast vouchers for the next morning. It was dinner time when we checked in and we didn’t want to drive around so we decided to hit Dennys for dinner. The restaurant smelled like a locker room, damp and musty. We should have walked out then, but we pressed on. My wife and I ordered the prime rib salads and our boys ordered breakfast food. We ordered pancake hushpuppies for an starter. The hushpuppies came at the end of the meal and our salads showed up with nasty rotten avacodo. We pointed out the avacodo and the waitress said«yah, I thought that looked kind of bad»…she still served it! I would have expected an apology or something from the manager who was walking around, but seemed afraid to visit our table.

Walking in the entire restaurant was a complete mess. Over 8 tables were abandon long after the diners had left. The wait staff and kitchen staff were lounging around the restaurant not tending to the customers at the check out counter. Upon being seated, at one of the few clean tables, we had to stand and wait as someone searched for a drying rag since the table and both booth seats were very wet. Our waitress completely forgot to take our order and left us waiting over 10 minutes before remembering that we existed. Despite the fact the restaurant was empty it took and inordinate about of time to be tended to, served, given the check, and checked out. The kitchen was uncomfortably loud with dishes and the staff yelling at each other. It’s hard to enjoy your meal with that amount of shouting and careless noise. I ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs with hash browns and sourdough; EVERYTHING was bland, I had to put copious amounts of salt and pepper on it to make it palatable. My boyfriend ordered the Superbird with fries and the sandwich was soggy and underwhelming, could barely tell there was bacon on it. When we received the check we waited at the counter as yet again the entire staff was lounging about. We enjoy going to Denny’s and this was by far THEWORST one we have ever been to.

Better off picking thru garbage cans for food. Eeew! Horrible food, filth, chaos. Take a look at the pictures I post– I would’ve taken more but I didn’t want to catch dysentery.

Stopped here because I was so hungry I couldn’t wait any longer. Driving through from Vegas to Minneapolis. First off, I wasn’t greeted by the hostess, I was told«Wait a minute» while she went outside to talk to some guys. When she came back in, she didn’t apologize, she just brought me to my table. The table next to me was a big pile of plates that hadn’t been bussed. The sole waitress working and the hostess were arguing about it. Apparently the manager had scheduled a «Cody» to work as busser and dishwasher, but I guess he was in jail, and would be for the next 7 days as I overheard them talking about it. The waitress was willing to bring the dirty dishes to the table next to me and stack them there, but she said she was too busy to take them all the way in back, let alone wash them, since she was the only waitress. The hostess decided it was more important to man the counter up front to take payments as they occasionally came up rather than bus tables. So this garbage pile just continued to accumulate at the table next to me. Anyway, the food was decent. Standard Denny’s fare. The service was obviously slow with only one waitress working, and it too forever to get my check. As I was waiting for it, another waitress came in to start the lunch shift. She apparently got informed she’d be bussing and washing instead of waiting tables. She looked immediately crabby like she was going to quit. Where the manager was in all of this, I couldn’t say. Very poorly run location though. I’d hold off on stopping here and just drive the extra half hour to get into the city of North Platte.

Even a «one star» rating is pushing it! I had steak — it was supposed to be cooked medium, it was instead grey-colored and well-done. None of the 3 orders of Mac-n-cheese were remotely similar — mine was dried out, my mother’s had a combo of raw and mushy pasta with a flavorless white sauce, my «to go» order looked like classic yellow Kraft Mac-n-cheese. My Dad’s salmon was dry and served with an ice-cream scoop of mashed potatoes topped with yellow cheese sauce. The side of broccoli unexpectedly had a sort of white sauce on it which was watery because the person who put it all together didn’t bother draining the broccoli first. The best thing of the entire meal was the pancake hush puppies — totally worth the calories!

It’s a Denny’s. Dont over think it. It was fine. The food was hot. The restrooms were clean. Not great service but I’ve had worse. Lots of locals were eating here.

Whatever you do, DON’T eat here! You would be better off going to the gas station for breakfast. At least you’ll get better service there. Just keep driving and stop in North Platte or Sidney.

Ate here twice on our recent stop in Ogallala. A Mushroom Swiss Burger, Fries and a Chocolate Shake Late Night after we checked into the attached hotel was ok and the waitress was nice enough to help me carry the food back to our room. The problem was the breakfast buffet the next morning. It was free with our room and still wasn’t worth it. Stale eggs, no biscuits and watery gravy that I put on a hard English muffin. The Coffee Maker was empty, so we had to get it from a waitress who seemed very put out by the whole situation. I doubt I will ever stay at the hotel or eat here again, but if you do, skip the free breakfast!

Worst breakfast ever! For 2 adults and one baby breakfast cost $ 45.00. Food was served cold, décor dated and stale, waitress was not attentive. Do yourself a big favor and find another place to eat, you will not regret it.

If only there were a no star rating possible. I checked into the hotel attached, came downstairs to eat some dinner. Not the first choice but I was in a group and this was an easy option. We came in through the hotel entrance side, saw the sign that says«Please wait to be seated» We stood there talking with each other for at least 10 minutes. I had plenty of time to look around, maybe 25% of the restaurant was in use. I thought they had a private party or a catering event going on because of the slow response. Nope that was just a taste in preview of what hell was to come. We EVENTUALLY, sat down in a semi-small booth. «Sorry, all my other booths are taken right now». No actually half of them were just dirty with dishes and haven’t been cleaned yet, and the other half yes had patrons. We started looking at the menus, and I was dying for some water. We waited another 10 mins for someone to ask us what we were drinking. We basically looked at the menu, talked with each other, I went to the bathroom, came back, my boyfriend took a chair from a table next to us, sat at the end of the table with us in the booth and no one has come to take our food order yet. Approx 10 mins AFTER all those events, someone did come and take our food order. No drinks but she did take the food order. 7 minutes later, she produced water for us. Thanks but now that I’ve waited an hour I’m drinking this water fast and furious. That I did, and would you believe it? I waited 10 minutes for her to come around to fill our glasses. now this is by far the best part of my experience. She comes around with a pitcher of water right, starts to fill EVERYONE’S cup(everyone was drinking water but mine was completely empty) she gets to my cup and because she’s poured water for everyone else my cup is filled about half way up. She almost looks right at me, then walks away from the table. Sort of making a small sound as if to signify«O look at that«I figure she HAS to go and get another pitcher of water right? she was just right in front me. ABSOLUTELY not the case. Nope, no sign of her until the food arrived and THAT was 25 minutes AFTER my water was«filled» I drank my boyfriends water, I was crispy and beyond dehydrated. We all got breakfast at «America’s number 1 diner» we’re not dining with Chef Gordon Ramsay at $ 100 a plate. I had biscuits and gravy with hashbrowns. Extremely and I do mean, extremely greasy hashbrowns. More than should be. The biscuits? dry, cold, forgetful. They also put crumbs(I guess) of sausage on top of the biscuits. Ok I see the logic, but I didn’t really see that anywhere on the menu about it. Half way through me eating my food, she comes back and fills my glass again. Excellent. And as expected, I drank all my water and never saw her again. Lucky for me, my boyfriend let me have the rest of his water.again. We pretty much assumed we had to wait for her to hand us the bill, but at this point we just went up to the«other entrance door» and got in someones face(basically) to pay the check. So I invested over an hour of my time for 5 people to get semi rotten food, lazy service, and a horrible taste in my mouth about the locals in this town. So far, I will not be returning to this place. The runza literally across the parking lot has FAR better quality to offer and that’s fast food! This experience was SOBAD even my father in law(basically) said his food was crap and he couldn’t believe how slow service was. Now he’s a «local«who lives in the state, and yes there is a general slow-moving kinda of attitude where no one moves for no one, no body has any sort of physical«hustle» When a person who is from the area(at least a similar zip code) tells you the food and service was shit, you’re convinced you really did just experience that. So I say never again Denny’s thanks for the memories but never again.

This place has the friendliest staff that I’ve ever encountered at a Denny’s. It’s a good thing because they were out of large amounts of produce and therefore were unable to make a FitFare skillet properly. The service was fast and friendly and I didn’t notice any of the cleanliness problems that others have encountered. The food that I did get was just fine, even if it wasn’t what I really wanted. Also, it was Hobbit-themed, so there’s that. Maybe I just got lucky, but it really wasn’t bad even though it would have been nice if they had a full stock of veggies.

I ordered an omelette that was so small I ended up leaving hungry. It took 15 minutes to get our bill. Once we got our bill I had to go into the kitchen just so someone could cash us out. Horrible service!

Not so wonderful food. The waitresses were all nice though! We had two breakfast items and a lunch item. One breakfast plate was sent back with undercooked eggs only to be returned with again undercooked eggs. :(. The skillet was supposed to have crispy hashbrowns and cheese but this was seriously lacking cheese and hashbrowns were mushy :(. The burger was way way overcooked to the point of being dry and chewy and the cheese was actually cheese sauce which I think should be told up front. The fries tasted like they needed to change the fryer oil. What I liked was Rhonda our server offered my two year old crackers and brought her grapes before the meal. I always like when people treat my child like I would. A+ service in that regard. Not many people do that!!! Overall very blah and expected more out of Denny’s since I have eaten at a bazillions Denny’s over the years. Choose a different place in Oglala if you want to stop for some food!

This is about all there is for breakfast in Ogallala. I went with the Grand Slam. Scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage were all okay. Pancakes were boring.

I ate twice at this restaurant in the last few days. They do have an extensive menu and lots of choices for breakfast. I have no problems. I got a good meal at a fair price. They are very convenient to I-80 and I see no reason to give them a bad rating. They are not amazing or anything. Pancakes taste like pancakes, eggs taste like eggs. I ate at this place both Saturday and Sunday morning and on Saturday it was dead and fast, on Sunday it was very busy and the food order was kind of slow. On the whole, for your choices for a big menu as you cruise down I-80? This is not a bad spot at all. There is a Valentino’s just a few blocks further if you are more of a Pizza/Pasta person.

I don’t even know where to begin here… Let me start by confessing: I grew up in Nebraska. I know that, in general, folks aren’t in a huge hurry to get anywhere here. That’s just the Midwestern way, and I accept as a transplant to the big city of Denver, we move a little faster at altitude. That being said, this Denny’s officially made my one-star offender list without question Friday. Avoid at all costs unless you have all day for substandard food. Denny’s really is a lesson in getting what you pay for. The minions and I were on a six hour drive from Thornton to central Nebraska to visit my folks. We were making good time and starving, so we voted to stop at this Denny’s for a late breakfast. They weren’t especially busy, and we were seated promptly. However, when I asked for a kids menu for the nine year old, our waitress nodded and disappeared. Five minutes later, no kids menu. No drink order, and I walked to the front to grab a menu for my son myself. Our waitress spotted me, apologized, and said she’d be right over. Another five minutes, still no waitress, we take a vote as to whether we want to leave. As we’re getting up, she shows up, apologizes again and wants to take drink orders. My son decides we should stay, so we put orders — food and drinks — in and figure it won’t be too long. Nope, guessed wrong. Got my coffee, son’s chocolate milk and daughter’s juice immediately. And then, we went back to snails pace. Additionally, we observed four other staffers milling about while the booth behind us sat stacked up with dirty dishes. We set a timer. 25 minutes before our food reached us, and when it did, no offer to refil coffee or drinks. As mentioned before, you get what you pay for. The $ 2 biscuits and gravy were cold and pasty, but the biscuit was dry. Belgian Grand Slam? Brought out the wrong eggs first, then the scrambled were bone dry! Jr. Grand Slam was the only edible dish we received. One hour ten minutes from arrival to getting the check, at a Denny’s full of travelers on I-80 in a hurry. And icing on the cake? Waitress had the gall to ask if I wanted to put her tip in my card. I broke my own rule and told her no, Gratz, Denny’s. I remember now why I never go to this chain! And those dirty dishes? Still there when we left.
