It is closed with a ‘For Sale’ sign in the window. It is not open. Unilocal says my review is too short to post. I don’t want to post a review, I just want folks to know that is no longer in operation.

I really enjoyed Oie’s when I lived in Odessa, and when I think of going back, I know it’s on my list of places i have to visit. The woman who cooks in the kitchen used to tell me I had a metal tongue, because I could eat her Thai spicy without breaking into a sweat. She was so sweet and kind, and she’d cook something up special for me, just to try. I visited with her son as well, and just really enjoyed going there to eat. The noodle salad is my favorite – I love the spiciness, the meat and seafood, the veggies – this is one dish that has everything. And why it’s called a salad? Who knows. It certainly isn’t like any salad I’ve ever known! But I order it every time! The egg rolls are good. The summer rolls and spring rolls are good. Service is almost always with a smile and friendly. I have to be honest now: there’s nothing fancy about this place. It’s in a strip mall shopping center that is as old as dirt and the chairs aren’t the most comfortable, and the tables sometimes feel ‘humid’ or ‘sticky’. But the place is spotlessly clean – and I’ve been in the kitchen to see it is too – and the food is just the best. And ultimately, there’s nothing better than getting to have the best food without having to dress up and going to a place where they make you feel comfortable. So whenever I go back, this is probably the first place I’ll hit. It’s easily wheelchair accessible too!

Very good food! I hope she doesn’t close down! I like the sesame chicken. My husband likes the rainbow special! But, #95 is the best!

Best Thai we’ve ever eaten hands down. Hours are always crazy and never know when they are open, but once you get the food it doesn’t even matter. #77 with sticky rice almost every time. Love the owner and her husband. Yum yum yum! One of my favorite places to eat anywhere.

I am not from here so I decided to try this place out based on the reviews, and I can’t agree more. This place is amazing. I had the Rainbow Entrée, perfect amount of spice and it was so much food. The waiter was so nice and attentive. I will definitely frequent this restaurant when I am in town.

This is the best Thai in town in my opinion and great atmosphere! I have never had anything bad!

This place used to be my fave Thai place in the area(until I discovered Thai Spice and in Midland, King & I) but with irregular operating hours, their menu being outdated and the prices too high… it’s too bad I don’t go to Oie’s any longer. Their curries are quite spicy, even their so-called«low heat» ones like the panang or yellow curry. Their noodle dishes are pretty good, such as their pad thai and #98 dish(get it as a combo for full flavor with the meats). Their summer rolls aren’t half bad either but the peanut sauce isn’t legit. Their sticky rice is actually very good and I recommend getting it with the curries or other entrees, despite it costing a little extra. Honestly though I think what really turned me off from this place is one of their waitstaff. The cook/owner of the establishment is a sweet woman who comes out on occasion to check out people and to see how you’re enjoying the food, but one of the male servers repeatedly gave me nonsense about«ordering the same thing» whenever I came in, or asks about the logo shirt I happen to be wearing that day, or telling me to «smile!» one time when he saw my license from my wallet. I come to a restaurant to eat, even when I go solo, and small talk is okay sometimes, but leave out the silly comments. Not very professional!

takes them awhile to get the food ready. I waited an hour the first time there. But food and services are absolutely awesome. Must try #79 and #84!

Have been here a few times. Okay for the choices of Thai food there are around here. I must say I ordered a soup one time an it was the best soup I have ever ate. However, the second time I went i ordered a chicken dish and it was just okay.

UPDATE: Being away from Odessa for an entire month has made me miss this place all the more. You know what that means? I haven’t found an authentic, home style Thai place like this anywhere. I need you back in my life, Oie. Glad she’s staying open until I graduate school next year. :)

Pretty good Thai food and the owner is great… comes out and greets people. Panang curry and green curry are good. Spring rolls are good also.

Excellent food! We went with our six year old, and he loved the food, too. They have a good children’s menu of Thai food, not American. Nice flavors, and it IS spicy! The wait staff knows a lot about the food and is able to interpret and offer suggestions should you need them. Entrees were plentiful. My husband had the sticky rice, which was good. My son and I had fried rice, which had nice flavor and was not greasy. We would recommend Oie’s to anyone wanting good Thai food.

Food was good. Thai tea not so good. A little strong. My biggest problem was the $ 1 charge for credit card orders. I researched and have report the business since this is illegal. We argued with the woman at the register, but she did not budge on the charge. Tried to tell us that AMEX charges her 2.99 per swipe. BS!

Decent, bigger menu than the other Thai place off of Andrews. They don’t have papaya salad and when I asked for Thai Tea, they ran out!

Odessa definitely needed a bit of culture bestowed upon them, and Oie’s is just the place for that. She’s a wonderful lady and cooks with fresh ingredients and if she had time to get away from the kitchen she often comes to mingle and get feedback from her customers. My go to order is a #98(beef noodles) but I ask to add jalapenos for an extra kick, if you’re new to Thai food and aren’t sure what to order and want to start off slow, that is probably your safest bet or the Pad Thai with your choice of meat. My parents love the challenge chicken and I can see why. It is very well marinated, fried to perfection and served with fried rice and some soup. As for the adventurous eaters, the menu is yours to take, everything is always very flavorful and definitely a change from your daily dose of tortillas and beans: P The wait staff although friendly, there are very few of them and are often times swamped with the crowd and yes it takes a while for the food to get out to you, so if you are in a hurry be sure you call ahead and say that you’re dining in or even if you want take out. You have to keep in mind Oie has very little kitchen help and often cooks by herself. But believe me it’s definitely worth the wait!

One of the best restaurants in town and very authentic. A huge menu and everything can be customized to suit your tastes. My entire family loves this place, especially the kids. My son is a very picky eater and he can always find something he loves. Make sure you save room for the custard sweet rice for dessert.

I was in Odessa a few weeks ago on business and didn’t find out about this place until my last night there. Too bad, because this place ROCKS! The food is fantastic. I am actually going back to Odessa today for a few days and might not eat anywhere else. I live in a large city with tons of Thai restaurants, and I haven’t eaten at any that are better than here. Who knew you could find Thai food this good in Odessa???

Fried wonton was good not so crazy about it but the rest was great! The spicy fish sauce was perfect, the sea bass was fried but not hard, crispy outside and tender inside and its not fishy too. The choo chee shrimp was magnificent. I fall in love instantly! The coconut milk with the chili. looks like peanut sauce but taste like curry but not so much like curry its sooo good!!!, the owner told me to order challange chicken next time i came. The tips from the chef, call 1st for the challange chicken cos it has to be deep fried 1st. I ate 2 main course and 1 appetizer with steam rice and water(my hubby add more steam rice) for only about $ 28. Not expensive :))
