Super friendly service, tasty BBQ and sides plus they kindly serves us even before opening hour! We enjoyed the patio and you could tell cleanliness was a high priority when you walked in.

I grew up in Odessa and my father always told me he didn’t like Jack Jordan’s because it wasn’t authentic, slow smoked over mesquite, real-deal stuff. On a recent trip to Odessa, my wife and I tried it as her family had always liked it. MY dad was right. The brisket was more like pot roast and the ribs were poorly prepared and dried out. Go to Johnny’s Bar-B-Q for the real-deal and a much better experience overall.

My family and I checked this place because we heard it was the best place in town for TX-BBQ… NOT! The food looked great on the plate and I was tempted to order the ol’skool but decided for the slaw and tato-salad instead. To my surprice, the slaw tasted somewhat fermented :(so I thought maybe my palate is off. Let me wash it with some sweet tea, and what do you know, the sweet tea was right on the money. However, the slaw still tasted tasted like it was going bad. The potato salad tasted ok but it was more like mashed potatoes. I was really hungry so I started attacking the ribs. Sad surprise #2. All the meats were cold. The only hot thing on the plate was the BBQ sauce, and I’m talking about spiciness SON, which was also okay. I have to admit we went to this place almost at closing time but come on, at least nuke my «meat» before you slam it on the plate. To be fair the smoke sausage was good, and the banana pudding was hanging on the edge of deliciousness. Also the nostalgic war planes gave this place a kind of outdated but cozy atmosphere. But still, Planes, pudding, and sweet tea, which was put away before we could get refills, could not compensate for the under-cooked bloody smoked chicken and cold ribs. Hey! taco Tuesday’s were invented for a reason. Maybe we’ll give them a try again on a Sunday. Oh yeah, the crew was frienly ;p and the bathrooms were clean.

My wife and I figured we would try a BBQ place in Odessa since I’m working there. Typically we only eat KDs in Midland. Going to order all you see are flies everywhere! We decided to go ahead and give it a try anyhow(very stupid!!). The brisket was among the worst I have ever ate. Potato salad was bad also(you can get better premade at wal mart). BBQ sauce is very watery. Now for the past 24 hours we have both been sick. Definitely avoid this place!!!

Terrible! The coleslaw tasted like it was turning into sauerkraut. The beans were flavorless. And the sauce was all smoke.
