The Gathering Place at King of Kings Lutheran Church

This church doesn’t even rate a star! The pastor and members of council are beyond rude! Letters have been written to the bishop by members of the church including my mother who at the time was the office manager about the pastor and things he does that’s extremely unprofessional, the letters were supposed to be confidential except the pastor dug through my mothers personal e-​mails on the computer to find the letter that she had e-​mailed the bishop about him and then him along with the council used that letter against her, bullying her taking her job duties away from her leaving the counting of offering and paying of bills in the council presidents hands and his wife was the one who counted (conflict of interest)
She was promised a raise before this mess hit the fan and they were going to give her insurance instead of a raise. 9 months later she was never given either and the pastor said in front of the bishop it’s either her or me to be fired. So my mother was fired for the pastors unprofessionalism.
The pastor is never in the office turns down funerals and other gatherings that the public needs because he has to babysit his 3 year old daughter. During worship if his daughter wants him she’ll interrupt service walk down the isle to get her dad. No one says a word and he stops what he’s doing to ask what she needs while her brother and sister who are in high school sit in the audience watching not helping.
Other members think they run the church as well if things don’t go there way they run to the pastor to complain so things will go there way because the pastor can’t stand people talking about him beyond his back.

Ive only been to this church because this is our polling place to vote, I have no clue if the volunteers here actually attend this church but they are so nice and pleasant to chat with while we are there. Im very grateful this church offers there time to allow people to vote here Thank you!

Overcome with the love of our Redeemer & King at my new church home: King of Kings in Oceanside California! ELCA mirrors my heart, beliefs and passions in ways I couldn’t previously imagine. Forgive the gushing, but the lovely flock and their parish are such a blessing.
Their Gathering place is a wonderful space for contemporary services, and presentations with a lunch like I enjoyed today. The modern kitchen had that roomy feel of the big church kitchens on the church of the 50’s. Children were hanging out in the courtyard just outside the venue enjoying the day.
Friendly, progressive, comfy, true to their roots with hearts of service. A church is more than a building as King of Kings proves, but their Gathering Place is a great place for the congregation to commune!
