We reached the restaurant 30 minutes before closing time, yet they were very accommodating. Most of the menu item was catered to our vegetarian need and without losing its true authentic Thai flavor. Definitely a place to try if looking for Thai.

Ordered 2 different kind of fried rice, both of them soaked in the excessive oil and rice became soggy. They forgot to give utensils even after foods were served. Totally lost our appetite.

Very good food and reasonable prices. Fish in Tamarind fish was really good and so were the eggplant, pad thai, and panang curry. Finished the meal with a perfect sticky rice and mango dessert.

This place is great. Clean, great food, and super friendly, courteous owners. Very consistent either eat in or take out. Love it!

This is definitely a hole in the wall restaurant, but one of the best Thai food places around Northern San Diego! Everyone here that I’ve encountered have been the most polite, & caring people. Worth the stop in!

Friends and I go to this place several times per month. Always at lunch time. The best we’ve found so far in North County. The service is prompt and friendly. Often the owner, Pa, takes our order and she often comes to chat with us. She loves to hear our opinions on the food and will alter any dish to taste. The place has a slightly upscale ambiance but casual dress is totally OK and the prices on the lunch menu are great. But it is the food that keeps us coming back. It is always good to excellent and so very fresh and flavorful. The only dish I don’t like here is the Pad Thai and that is because they make it with fish sauce in the sauce and I just don’t like fish oil/sauce personaly. Pa says she will make the Pad Thai for me without the fish oil in the sauce. My favorites from the lunch menu: Sweet Basil or the Hot Basil(I don’t know what the«sweet» or the «hot» refer to but it isn’t the taste or spice level) with chicken, but all the other dishes are very good too.

We came on a MONDAY night. Not busy but they were short staffed. Two ladies taking orders, bringing food and answering calls. Kinda chaotic. The lady who took my order forgot one of our main dish. I asked about it and she said I didn’t order it. Hmmm. Well, maybe if you write down the order, you will get it right??? Regarding the food. It was overall ok. The pad thai is not the thick kind you normally get. It’s thinner and much more sticky for some reason. The grilled steak was ok. The meat had a lot of fat on them. The pan nang curry had too much carrots! I think there must have been half of a stick sliced it in! The papaya salad was good at first but had an after taste. This could have been a 3.5 but they didn’t do anything for their mistake with not getting my order right. Very disappointed. Able parking, decent thai food, very casual, no Buddha statues, and I don’t know what they do when it gets really busy. Nice people but not good customer service.

Savory Thai is a gem of a restaurant. This was my first visit. Beautiful interior with comfortable seating. Service is friendly and helpful. Food is wonderful. I ordered the papaya salad and spicy noodles. Both dishes were flavorful and fresh. I look forward to coming back when I’m in town.

I love Thai food but this restaurant makes me want to stay away from it for a while. Quaint atmosphere, nice owners, but terrible food. Had the Tom yum soup, beef salad, and fried rice. The flavor was definitely off on all of it! I hate to write bad reviews but the food kinda scarred me!

As others have posted… First impression from atmosphere is great! 7⁄8 Environment of location between $tree & taco bell ¾ Slow service & smaller food portions compared with other this restaurants :(2/3 We were 1 of 2 tables in the restaurant so should have more attentive to filling drinks & checking on us. Repeatedly walking by & not taking the stacked up empty plates from appetizers, etc. The Calamari I got looked nothing like prevoius Unilocal photo. Mine were tastless rings that included a stringy, sretchy rubber band like thing that would smack me in the face after I took a bite of EVERYONE(see pic) & see pic of the chicken patay compared to my fork as a size chart so u know the scale of these tiny skewers. They’re trying but they’ll need to make some improvements before we(party of 6) return.

This is m y 4th time here. WAW I got to tell you. I’ve eaten Thai food all over the US, and I’ve been in Thailand 2 times, but this place beats it all. When I go to a restaurant I always look if the place is clean, then I’ll ask the waiter what’s good here then I’ll order whatever the waiter suggested. I’m here tonight with my wife, and boy is a treat? Well it is this place have got the BESTTHAIFOODINSANDIEGOCOUNTY. I Highly recommend you all should try as I did. I know you won’t be disappointed. Unless your a miserable person and nothing can please you. I recommend you eat here and enjoy it.

This was my first time coming here. My husband and I were running errands and decided to give this place a try. Upon walking into the restaurant, it’s gorgeous! The added touches of pillows in the booth to greenery was definitely eye catching. And this is why my review is not a 2 star review… Going into food and service, I was disappointed. It seems they are understaffed because the host was also the waiter. A couple had just left as we arrived. My husband and I were the only ones in the restaurant. With us being so close to the host desk and the only couple in the entire restaurant, I find it appalling that I had to ask for my drink to be refilled more than once. The gentleman was sitting back, kept walking back and forth to the bar, and hardly checked up on us. The meal time took about 20−25min. My husband ordered 2 appetizers: the fried calamari and spring rolls. That came out before my chicken Pad Thai. I have to agree with most of the previous reviews that the food is average if not below that. Portions are small and the taste and service did not justify the price. My entrée was nice: hot and filling. I guess another lady works there and handed me my plate. She also was the only one to clean up the other table(mind you the couple left 20 – 25 min before our food arrived and the waiter who didn’t check up on us could have done it). This lady helped me more than the gentleman who was my waiter. She actually refilled our glasses and brought us extra sauce. If this lady was the one to make our meal, I’m sure she could have run the joint by herself because she gave us more service than the person standing 6 feet away from us did.

Very lovely place. Ambiance is absolutely fantastic. Seating is very comfortable with nice cushion pillows in the booths. Service was exception and made for a very serene experience. Menu was priced reasonably and the food was perfect and tasty. I ordered the Thai spicy noodle lunch special. I’ll be back for more.

The food: mine was excellent! My son’s not so great. I had red curry with chicken he had chicken satay and cream cheese won tons. The service: reallllllllly slow Overall experience: mixed opinions. Like a little gem in the middle of a not so great area, this place is really nice when you walk in the door. We sat in a cozy booth with pillows, which was a nice touch to make it feel more cozy. It took a long time before anyone came to get our drink order which should have been our first sign that this was by no means going to be a quick dinner. Finally after we got our drinks we ordered. Appetizers of calamari and soup. Dinner… It took a long time for the appetizers to arrive, but when it did it was nice and hot! Very tasty too. Then dinner. My red curry was so so yummy! Had to wait forever for refills of our drinks which kinda sucked because curry is spicy! My son wanted to order desert… But the service was SOSLOW, we just paid the bill and left.

Very decent Thai food. A little more pricey than most other places. This is a very quaint, quiet place with very few people dining here. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Service was quick. They have many booth seats here. Plenty of parking outside. They have a lot of wine here. I didn’t know Thais drink wine. I dont drink so I don’t know how good they are. We got 3 appetizers and one entrée to share. It all came out to $ 32. The portion on our entrée was less than average. We for the Crispy Egg Rolls w plum sauce. These were ok. They were a little stale, but still crisp. They had good flavor along with the sauce. It came with four rolls. We also got the Chicken Satay which just chicken on a stick. These were really good and they came with a peanut sauce that pairs perfectly. Thailand has a lot of street food than includes many different meats and insects on sticks. Definitely try the chicken Satay. It casts $ 6.95 for 4 decent size pieces. We also got Tom Kah Chicken Soup which is a coconut chicken soup that is spicy and has coriander and mushrooms. I just got a bowl of it and I couldn’t finish because of the amount of flavor. This soup was good and is perfect to share w others if you don’t mind sharing spoons or double dipping spoons with others. The spicy noodles were really good for our entrée. They come medium spice and you can ask for mild or hot. The medium wasn’t that spicy but had a little kick. The flat noodles came with your choice of meat, cabbage, onion, broccoli, and carrots. The chicken was a tiny bit dry but the noodles were packed with chili flavor and soy sauce which made up for it. Definitely give this place a visit for your Thai food craving. Nothing was bad, but nothing blew my mind with flavor to leave me with a craving for this place in the future.

I’ve visited Thailand so it’s very hard to find a restaurant that compares to the real deal. My dinner wasn’t bad but it also wasn’t over the top amazing. I give it 3 stars for friendly service, clean restaurant, and quiet atmosphere. If you are looking for more of a fancier feel, this is your spot. Not saying you have to be dressed to the nines to dine here but it’s definitely not a «let’s get off the couch and bring the baby» restaurant. We ordered the crunchy rolls and chicken satay for appetizer. 4 rolls for the price of $ 6, were a bit small. Seems a little steep of a price. The chicken satay was average. They forgot to bring us the cucumber bits that go on top, but they quickly realized and delivered it to our table. The spicy coconut curry chicken soup was delicious. I could have just been fine with ordering that for my dish. We also ordered the pad se ew spicy chicken, again it was alright– nothing to rave about. I wouldn’t mind coming back, I’m always open minded to trying various dishes.

OK neighborhood Thai joint. The mirror along one wall makes the restaurant look so much bigger. In fact, I didn’t realize it was a mirror until my dining partners pointed it out. They also have these cacti/succulents on each table as décor. I had the red curry and a bite of the seafood soup. The red curry wasn’t as fragrant compared with other places and was too sweet for me. It also had a peanuty(or something) aftertaste, like a satay sauce. The seafood soup was fragrant and flavorful, but not seafoody enough. It just needed more, well, seafood in it. Must get: mango sticky rice. It was warm, sweet, salty and all kinds of good.
