Orco Block

Two visits here. It is a wholesale contractor supply yard for all types of blocks. Each visit I was able to talk with an associate immediately and they offered extensive, helpful feedback each time. Easy going and very friendly. Seems to be a popular place for sourcing blocks for construction in the area. I was scoping out options for building a retaining wall, and the options they had were exactly what I needed. Pricing was quite good for the blocks, but delivery for one pallet was a set $ 275 even though I only live less than one mile away. No thanks.

My wife and I went to the Oceanside store and were impressed with the excellent customer service. I know nothing about installing pavers and the employees were patient and helpfull. Mario was most helpful and made us feel comfortable with the process. We will return when ready for more landscape projects in the future. Highly recommend!

I chose Orco block for their outstanding selection of concrete pavers. I went in on a friday and Orco block is not open on weekends so it was extremely busy. They only had 2 people working in the office who were helping customers and answering the phone. They did not have time to help a do-​it-​yourselfer order bricks. I felt like they usually work with contractors ordering huge quantities. They couldn’t be bothered with a little backyard job.
I needed 400 square feet of pavers. I had them picked out and just wanted to order them and have them delivered. They couldn’t deliver that day so they recommended silverstone (a 5-​star company). Then they checked their stock and didn’t have the pavers anyway. I asked them to please order them and I would be back in 2 weeks to pick them up.
2 weeks later they were still out of stock. They had to rush order them, thanks to pressure from SilverStone to get it done. Silverstone delivered them for $ 100 less then Orco would. Orco looked at me like I was crazy when I told them I needed the blocks delivered and didn’t have my own truck to transport.
My final experience with orco was buying special paver sand to go between the pavers. I ordered 3 bags of sand. They only had 2 in stock. It would be another week before they restocked their stay-​lock sand.
I will go back to Orco but only because their pavers are amazing. They’re lucky because their customer service is not. If you like Orco’s selection then use SilverStone to get them for you.
