Chow’s Donuts

We came in just before 11 and their selection was extremely limited. We walked out and went to a place down the street. Sad because they have great reviews and all the pictures looked super yummy! We may be back, hopefully earlier in the AM when they have a full selection.

I found this place on Unilocal when I was searching for a place to get my sons teachers a treat for Teacher Appreciation. The reviews were right, this place was AWESOME!!! The owner was so sweet and added a few donut holes to our order which I gave to my son and a few of the early kiddos at his daycare. I recently went back to get a donut and it was literally like a piece of heaven. The only negative thing, and it’s not even a big deal, they charge $.35 to pay with your debit card. I just have to remember to have cash because I dont like paying extra for anything. Other than that, I would say with confidence that Chow’s has the best donuts I’ve ever eaten.

We arrived 45 minutes after their Sunday closing time. Their door was still open and they let us come order. They were very welcoming and even encouraged us to sit a while, while they continued to clean up. As for the donuts… they were amazing. Best cake donuts I’ve ever had. Moist and delectable!

FABULOUS!!! First of all: they served us after they were closed on a Sunday. The owners were beyond friendly… Endearing. I felt so welcome. Cake donuts were amazing. The maple glazed round was amazing. The texture, flakiness, moistness and chewiness were all perfect. We will be stopping by on our way back to Phoenix for sure.

Every Thursday morning I come here to have my usual and have a small talk with the owner. I love everything here. The customer service is amazing, and it’s what keeps me coming every Thursday! No better way to start a morning!

5 stars for nice owner but donuts taste too fried. Also, the lady piled up maple, glazed, chocolates and cinnamon together very sloppy and all the frosting got all mixed Together over all the donuts. Too bad, was hoping it lived up to the great Unilocal reviews

Let’s start off by saying that if I can give this place 100 stars I would! One morning I was craving donuts so of course I turned to Unilocal and came across this shop. When I first walked in the owner was just so kind and sweet. We got to do a little bit of talking and he has been making donuts for about 25+ years and works 7 days straight from 3 am till about 2 pm to help support his son and wife. He is one of the sweetest, most hardworking, and caring individuals I have met. He always greats everyone that comes in with a smile and now I know why he has so many regulars! Aside from his humble personality he makes such great donuts. I don’t know what it is but I am HOOKED! His donuts are so chewy yet so soft and delightful! I have been coming here everyday even if it’s just for a cup of coffee ever since I discovered this gem. It’s always a pleasure coming in and seeing a friendly smile and getting some yummy coffee and donuts. (: Now, my personal favorite donut is the triple chocolate, OH MY GOSH! it has chocolate glaze, chocolate chips, AND chocolate on the inside. He always seems to run out of this amazing chocolate creation so you must get there early (I mean 5 or 6 am early). The owner seems to know what I always want now so as soon as I walk in he already knows my order and it is just amazing. Believe me and allll the other amazing reviews and go get yourself some amazing donuts!

The variety of donuts are to die for. I get the bran muffin with raisins for my morning snack. Hits the spot just right. Have tasted just about everything and am always pleased! Owner is amazing.
This IS the only place to get donuts. I won’t go anywhere else. Enjoy!!!

You know it’s great when there are 10 people in line and they’re all regulars. Amazing donuts. Amazing service. Croissants taste just like they do in Paris and the Crumb Cinnamon Roll is a MUST HAVE. Mr. Chow is the cutest, sweetest man ever!

Looked like a chill place and it was. Great friendly service, donuts were great. Tried their triple chocolate and was awesome, it’s what I would suggest you try if they have any left.

Very good! How often do you hear «they are still warm, I just made them». Delicious! Good coffee too and very friendly service! Recommended!

We never miss a chance to go to Chows donuts when we are visiting from Tucson. Delicious donuts and the owner greets us with a smile and remembers us every time. She usually throws in an extra donut too. Get there early because this place is popular and sells out early… Just don’t get there before us!

Best donuts ever! Since moving away from the area several years ago, we make it a point to visit Chow’s every time we visit. Always fresh and tasty… and warm, if you time it right. The owners are nice and friendly and always happy to have you.
I only wish that I could bring a copy of Chow’s home to have these amazing donuts whenever I wanted… but it’s probably good that I can’t!

These donuts are the best. The hospitality is incredible, and Mr. Chow is probably one of the nicest people I have ever met. 5 stars, eat here!

There’s just something about maple bars.
Every so often I get that craving (i know you know what i mean, so don’t even lie to me right now), the craving for a soft, sweet, delicious, doughy, SOFT donut.
Did I mention soft? Because I have gone to Chow’s multiple times and even when they’re about to close up shop these nuts are still soft.
They have the common variety: Maple bars, Chocolate Bars, Bear Claws, French Crullers, all kinds of glazed donuts, twists, donut holes, an awesome selection of cinnamon donuts, and pastries. They are all done wonderfully. The owner obviously takes pride in their craft.

Super friendly staff and really cheap: $ 6 – 7 for a half dozen plus you get an extra donut when you buy six. Tried the triple chocolate and apple fritter as recommended on Unilocal.I thought the apple fritter was certainly the most impressive. The lemon and custard filled donuts were in the 3-​star range. Triple chocolate was 4-​star range especially when nuked in the microwave to make a lava cake donut.
Overall, 3 and 4-​star donut flavors with 5-​star prices and staff. Nice find. Although I found Danny’s Donuts in Vista to beat this out trying them back to back.

The donuts are made fresh daily & the man that owns the shop is super nice and friendly, he’ll even remember your name or what you like and order if you come a lot. The regulars are also kind and friendly with a lot of stories to tell (: this place is amazing !

Someone brought donuts into work today and nobody knew that I love glazed donuts… I bit into the best, most moist, warm, crunchy — that was the best part really — glazed twist that I have ever had.
Wow. I will be back and rave about this place for sure.

That ham & cheese croissant will get the best of me every time! So gooey and warm it just melts in your mouth. Prices are low and customer service is awesome. Get all your favorite old time donuts here. The apple fritters are to die for but oh those croissants!
