Let me begin by saying that chicken is not my favorite. This chicken was very good. I ordered just a chicken burrito and you see them make it right in front of you. First they pull of the meat from the grill, chop it up and make it all right then. So simple and so good. The staff was very friendly.

By far the best chicken in Oceanside !!! No matter how you get it, always soft and tender. I just wish this place was in a better location! Luckily it’s literally down the street from my house otherwise it would have been difficult to find. If your a local & have not tried this restaurant I recommend it to you!

They require paying customers to pay an additional fee to use the toilet… What kind of business does this?

I ordered the ¼ chicken all white meat with refried beans and rice. The side dishes were OK but nothing to crow about. There are a million mexican restaurants in Oside that have these side dishes. The chicken was way below expectations. Very small amount of meat and it was shrunken, dry, almost like a jerky. The taste was fine but wow it had been cooking since last month. Way overcooked. The restaurant was clean, good service and easy parking. No one in line or in the restaurant. I got sick the next day with the runs. Only time I ate out and from reading the other reviews saw that this had happened to another person. That is terrible.

We stopped by to check it out and we thought the service was very nice, we liked the mom and pops setting. We ordered a pretty large order to go and when we got home everything was still nice and warm the only thing the chicken was a little dry. We loved the green salsa but would have preferred the chicken a little juicier

I’d driven past this place for a couple of years and last week decided to give it a try. Walked in and the guy at the counter was very friendly, he took my order and had my coke to me right away. Order came up fairly quickly(it was to go), so I headed out to my car and he came running out the door to give me the tortillas he’d forgotten to put in the bag. Nice of him. I got home(five minutes away), opened the container… and it was obvious right away that this chicken was pretty dry. I was bummed! It smelled good and the flavors were good, but it was so overcooked. Based on some of the other reviews I’ve read I’ll probably give Carlito’s a second chance, but my first experience with the food was kind of a disappointment.

Found this place Unilocaling around while in Oceanside. You’d totally miss if if you were looking for it though, but I decided to give it a try seeing the review on Unilocal.Normally I don’t order chicken burritos but I mean coming to a place named Carlito’s Chicken I kinda figured I should. The burrito plate came with a salad which was your standard iceberg lettuce, a wedge of tomato, some shredded cheese, guacamole and sour cream. To be honest, that was a little weird, and I’m not a big fan of iceberg lettuce so I just ate that first to get my greens out of the way. Biting into the burrito though made it all worth it though. The chicken was moist and tender. Very good. And I don’t usually care for rice and beans in my burritos but it wasn’t too overpowering with the beans and the rice was so soft and crumbly it was close to couscous! Ate every single bite even though I was only mildly hungry!

Such an awesome hole in the wall, everything was delicious and the people who work there are very friendly and sweet. I definitely recommend getting the huevos rancheros, the tortilla is so doughy and perfect. mmm

Don’t miss this place — while there is a lot of good mexican food to be had in this part of Southern Cal, this is one of the best budget meals I have had. They are grilling the food right in front of you and your food is served hot and fresh. I asked for flour tortilla chips instead of the typical corn tortillas and they were happy to provide them, fresh to order. The fresh salsa selection is fantastic. I’ll be going back even though I’m only here for a few days and eager to try many different choices. I’d suggest you give it a try — remember — it’s budget mexican food — don’t expect white tablecloths or luxurious settings. If you walk in expecting authentic, tasty food at a great price served by truly joyous staff, then you’ll come away with a smile and a lot of your own money still in your pocket.

Great chicken ! way better than el pollo loco, along the same line and type but in my opinion better quality and flavor. The guy behind the counter is always so friendly, that may be Carlito I’m not sure. anyhow I have been coming here for years and will continue to since it never disappoints. I always get a whole chicken, tortills and salsa, so gooood

A great hole in the wall gem! The chicken enchilada was moist and delicious. The –1 star was the size of the rotisserie chicken. it was on the small side. Good flavor, and the beans and rice were good. Tiny place, freeway close, and its clean. I’d come back.

I had heard a few things about this place, that the chicken was good, so I was driving by and decided to pick up dinner last night. So, I go in and am waiting in line, looking at the menu. That’s mostly pictures of food with the name of the meal on it. Then there’s a bunch of a la carte stuff, etc. I’m in Oceanside, there’s about 20 Million taco shops, I know the drill. On the register there is a sign taped up that says«ALL burritos have rice and beans(inside)». Ok, cool. So I get to the front, and the lady says«I’ll be right back» and takes off. I’ve been in line for about 5 minutes behind ONE party of 3 that was taking forever. She comes back and I ask«Besides Rice and Beans, what else is in the Fish Burrito?» and she says«Oh, no if you want rice and beans, you get the #15.» I look, that is a Fish Taco Plate with rice and beans on the side. Not what I am looking for. I say, «No, I want a fish burrito. What’s in that?» She says«Lettuce, Ranch Dressing, ummmmm… Fish. Oh and Thousand island Dressing. But we can put Rice and Beans in for you. The lettuce makes the fish cold.» WTF??? There are so many things wrong with this answer. I’ll just start with the 2 salad dressings that are inside the fish burrito. I have a horrified look on my face. And then I say, «Ok, that’s weird, but also it says right here on this sign that ALL Burritos have rice and beans inside.» She flips the register around and looks at the sign and then never responds to my comment. I don’t want the Salad Dressing Burrito, so I say I will take one Chicken Fajita Burrito, and am deciding on the other… she asks me if I want Rice and Beans in the chicken burrito. I say once again, «The sign says they all have that.» She yells for the cook to come over, and they have a conversation in Spanish… and I break it up to just say to him, «Make the burrito however it comes, however you normally make it.» Ok, one down. One to go. Now I am thoroughly irritated and want to get the F out of here. So I go back to the fish burrito and say I will take one of those, and just please make it however you normally would. Nothing special. And… then we get back into the rice and beans conversation again. I want to take a plastic knife and slit my wrists at this point, or at least cut myself and pour lime juice and salsa in the wound to take my mind off this Rice and Beans Mystery. I have no clue what I am getting now. I tell her this is really confusing. She says«It’s NOCONFUSING!!! We make what you want.» Me: «Ok, but do ALL the burritos have rice and beans or not, because BOTH that I ordered do not, but here is your sign that says they do. It’s confusing. you might want to take that sign down.» Her:“Some people don’t like Rice and Beans.” Me: «I know, that’s not the point. It’s not a big deal, I look forward to the Surprise Burritos». Here is what I did end up with. The Fish Burrito is 2 Fried Fish Sticks, wrapped up with my «Special Order» refried beans and rice, that’s it. I didn’t notice any Ranch or Thousand Island, or lettuce, or even a few diced tomatoes, salsa, nothin. I got a container of green salsa and then made some Baja white fish sauce at home to make it taste ok. The Chicken Fajita burrito was excellent. The chicken was really good, there was no rice and beans. Verdict: I probably won’t go back, just because of the interaction with the lady. The Chicken is good, the Fish is horrible. The Rice and Beans are CONFUSING.
