This is like a second home. Love the servers and the food is great. Perfect if you don’t feel like cooking. BYOB is the way to go. Going tonite. Fun dining. I can’t think of anything but good things. Try it for yourself.

Save yourself a trip to this place… almost inedible food. Meal started with complimentary chips and salsa which was ok… chips tasted stale but salsa was actually ok. Our entrees were crab enchiladas with a verde sauce and side of rice with confetti beans. Sides were flavorless… enchiladas were oddly flavored and verde sauce was horrible. Cheese melted on top was heated to the point that it was glued to the platter with very little left on the enchiladas. Crab filling was paste like and fishy. Service was fair and décor was fun! One and done!!!

I’ve lived in this area for a few years. Never heard much about it. Figured I’d give it a try. I was extremely dissapointed. The food was very plain and the portions very small for the price! 60 dollars for 3 entrees and 1 appetizer for takeout. The rice was plain. Beans looked straight out of a can. The meat in the entrees had no seasoning. Not only that, but the sizes were so small. I would not recommend eating here. No way is this food worth it. I wish I read all the reviews about this place before I bothered to waste money here when I could have spent it elsewhere on better food. What a dissapoint.

Definatley not homemade gauc so disappointing. I could tell before I even ate it. The salsa was maybe jarred salsa if not it really wasn’t good. And the enchiladas had a strong sauce that over powered the dish. Mexican is my absolute favorite I haven’t been this disappointed in a long time. Best part is its byob

We have not been here in a couple years but the food has gone completely downhill. My husband ordered the BBQ Ribs and they were dried out, burnt, squirted with what I assume is no name brand BBQ sauce out of a plastic bottle, and just overall not edible. It was served with cole slaw which he spit out because it was sour and had clearly spoiled, black beans from a can and clumped together refrigerated rice. I had the seafood fajitas. They came with 3 fajita shells but not nearly enough food to fill all of them. There were a total of 5 baby shrimp and 4 scallops. There was zero seasoning and the meal was just horrible overall. We will not be returning.

Really just a shame. Very few positives for the night service was ok, the waitstaff seemed overwhelmed and a little inexperienced, but friendly. My wife’s appetizer had things not listed in the description, and missing things that were, dinner itself was bland. The beans and rice tasted like the we’re poured from can, no flavor what so ever. The only shining star was the BBQ beef on the nachos and my wife liked her fish.

Service was good. Everyone was nice. Food was just awful. Had nachos that had so much cheese on them the bottom chips were soggy from the grease and you would’ve needed to use a spoon to eat them. The chicken on both the taco I got and the nachos was so dry I couldn’t eat it. And the chicken pieces were the size of a fist. Not really appropriate for nachos, which you’re supposed to eat with your hands. Gumbo was bland. Seafood taco smelled off so we didn’t even chance to eat it. They tried to rectify it by giving us another seafood taco instead of comping it, which was annoying since the next taco smelled like bad seafood also. It was an anniversary dinner and we were sorely disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Great little building with lots of potential on a major road. It’s quite small & can get very loud to the point you can’t hear your friends. We have been there about 4 times in 7 years — each time the food was truly a let down. Pretty bad actually … Not fresh or tasty — how can Mexican food not be tasty ?! The last time I went was to use a gift certificate I had received — the food sloshed in the plate with so much liquid it was disgusting and unappetizing. I couldn’t believe anyone could serve food that looked like it needed to be drained before serving. I caught a glance at the cook and thought I better not complain — he didn’t look too presentable himself. I tried to eat what I could and knew it was the last time we’d go there. I even had a remaining balance left on the gift certificate(which by the way –Red Sky wrote an expiration date on which I believe is illegal in NJ)… But I threw it out anyway! Maybe if you’re starving it’s good– but for us it’s a sad waste of a great location for a GOOD Mexican restaurant.

Service & food might depend on what night you visit. A few weeks ago, we were here on Saturday and the food & service was fantastic. However, our Sunday night visit was much, much different. The servers were constantly on their phones, hanging at the counter and visiting with friends. In fact, the friend was barefooted & always tying up her hair. Quite a different experience than before and, honestly, really disappointing.

It was good here, not great but, good. Don’t go expecting authentic Mexican food by any means. Chips are from a bag and not even really good chips. Salsa is weak. Very mild. My chicken chimichanga was good. Rice, blah. Plain, white rice. The black beans are mixed with corn. They’re okay. No other bean option available, no pinto or retried choices and the black beans are so-so. The large guacamole was the size of a cup of soup. Really. And, though homemade, bland. The seafood taco was just seafood and cheese, only. Not sauce cooked like a quesadilla. They only accept cash and it’s a BYOB.

Cute, quaint, convenient. Food doesn’t seem like it’s super fresh or made from scratch but hits the spot if your craving SW food at the shore. It’s BYOB with indoor and outdoor dining. Big props for having HANKSAUCE at every table.(Festival/market hot sauce favorite at the shore). Staff is friendly, food is quick. Just know before you order, the taco platter is 3 small crunch shells or 1 larger soft shell. Staff is glad to answer questions and meals have always been as resquested, in my own experience.

I haven’t dined here for a while. I still find this place charming. A small roadside eatery. We had a late lunch, the burrito was good. Great flavor, everything tasted fresh. The chips and salsa were excellent. Glanced at the dinner menu, still looks the same. I still have dreams of the crab enchilada.

Red Sky… O my! Been 20 times over 20 years. Did you lose your cook? Crab cakes inedibly salt lick salty. Slow cooked chicken cotton mouth dry. Plain texmati rice and unseasoned beans. Would love to love you again… cha cha for now Amigos.

We have dined here many times over the years and loved it, lately, however as the prices rise, the quality decreases. Great service and polite staff can not make up for the fact that the food is subpar. The last three times we’ve eaten from there, the price has averaged $ 60 but the food has tasted like we grabbed it from the drive thru. Frozen fish, undercooked meat were the last straw for us

Complementary nachos and homemade salsa! The salsa has a sweet, spicy perfection! The chicken burrito came was huge and very tasty. Really cool ambiance in this place! A perfect stop on your way down to the Jersey shore! Make sure you save room for a slice of key lime pie! Wow This place is great!

Had enjoyed the Red Sky for years but has not been there since last summer… found the menu had not changed… ordered grilled Grouper special but got a breaded piece of fish which was not grilled. not a grill mark in site. Waitress was adamant it was grilled. There is no doubt the quality of the food has diminished. The big surprise at the end of the meal when I was told they were cash only and had been since for some months. There was an ATM on site. it was broken. Will not be back. the one star if for a good homemade salsa

Worse than Taco Bell! Not sure what part of Mexico these folks got their recipes from. Horrible food. Everything tasted like it had tons of sugar. Salsa right out of a can of stewed tomatoes. Don’t bother to eat here. I have eaten Mexican food across the USA and this place should re-think the idea that they are serving Mexican food. Taco Bell resembles Mexican food, this stuff well I am not sure what they are thinking.

Chips were stale– came right out of a bag that the waiter stuck his hand right into. The«large» guacamole was the SMALLEST large I have ever seen. Not worth $ 7.95. The guacamole was also EXTREMELY bland– needed a lot of seasoning. My crab enchiladas were good, tasty and filled with a lot of chunks of crab meat. The rice and beans were very small portions but were tasty. Overall: wouldn’t go back because there’s no wow factor. No reason to return to the Red Sky(a place I would go to often before owners switched).

Kind of far outside of ocean city but not a horrible option when you are craving Mexican food. It is BYOB and wine which is great and no corking or bottle fee. The service is nice and lots of options on the menu. The food itself is pretty bland and mediocre but for the overall experience it is three stars. Nothing actually tasted bad I just wanted some more flavoring. They did have a bunch of specials and some interesting items on the menu outside of the standard Mexican fare which was nice.
