My kind of a good time! Live blues music, BBQ, & a very big selection of beers! They also serve crawfish but it’s seasonal of course. Love the atmosphere and the small dance floor. The reason why I gave this a 4 star instead of 5 is because of several reasons. First, the girl in the front was not very friendly when I asked about the menu items. She seemed like she didn’t want to answer. I should have went over to the next cashier. Second, they don’t have servers. You have to keep getting up to get food/drinks. Third, they didn’t have a mixed/cocktail drink menu, only beers. & my bbq chicken wings was not nearly what I had at the Gulfport location. The ones I had at the Gulfport location was AMAZING fall off the bone chicken and smoked to perfection! I was really disappointed with the chicken wings here. It tasted like they threw it in hot boiling water and drowned it in some really good slap yo mama bbq sauce on it. The skin was rubbery as heck! Now the pulled pork sandwich my bf got was a whole nother’ story! The pulled pork sandwich was monstrous and so flavorful! Mac & cheese were good also. On the other hand, live music was awesome! & we had a good old time!

At first stop you can tell this place is different. If you like dives, this is the place for you. If you don’t, the smell will make you forget about it. We were greated by one of the happiest old guys on the planet. It was very welcoming. After a very short wait in line we arrived at the order takers. There were several so the line went fast. We told the lady we had no idea what to order. She did a fantastic job steering us towards the original shedhed combo. I asked if we needed the jumbo($ 10 more) and she told us probably not. I’m glad she didn’t upsell us. Your server will walk the whole place(it’s huge) calling your name so listen well. We had to wait an hour. It would have been nice to know. We were worried our food was delivered to someone else, but no, it arrived piping hot. It was nice to listen to the band while we waited. Chris Klein Band was fantastic. Very entertaining. Food was great. I’m from the Austin/Lockhart area so it was different. Had two types of ribs: baby back and spare. Enjoyed the baby back more but they were both good. If you are from the«rib should have a slight tug» school you won’t like them as much. Why? THEYFELLOFFTHEBONE! The way I love them. Chicken was served hot wing style. They called them pig wings. They were my least favorite, but they were still very tasty. I’m just not a chicken fan. Pulled pork was some of the best I’ve had, but remember I’m from Texas so who am I to judge pulled pork. Beef was not sliced. It was a cross between chunk, burnt ends and pulled. It was very tasty. Everyone has their own tastes. Regionally I like Texas BBQ. This was, however, better than many well known Texas joints(Franklins) I would put it up there with Salt Lick and Kruez’s. Good job Brad! Good job!

Sorry to say but if you ask me if I would recommend the shed 5 years ago I would say 5 stars! My last three recent visit have been a total miss. I remember back in days when we order the wings it used to come out fresh fallen off the bone! But now it taste pre-made.(Very tough and not as tender) Seem like it about quantity over quality now since they became famous. Brad if you are reading this please bring us back the wings we loved & remembered!

The baby back rib platter was perfect. Flavoring was on point and fell right off the bone.

Took a large group(18) for a mid week dinner. Seeing that i was frustrated that they did not have full table service, they were more than willing to help make it work for the group. The staff helped us have a blast. Food was great, atmosphere was fun. If you take a large group i would recommend looking at the menu online before you go to make ordering faster. Also i did not like that i had to keep going to the counter for beer. Great place my dissappointment was that i was not prepared for how the service worked despite a large group.

Coming from California, I didn’t have any expectations about a bbq restaurant because I didn’t have anything to compare it to. I was highly impressed on our first visit and have been a fan ever since. My husband and I usually share a sampler platter and have plenty leftover for another meal. I can’t speak for portion sizes on regular entrees. Sometimes food is not as good as usual, but never enough to write the place off. I find its best to go during busy times to ensure food is at its freshest. Great beer selection. Service is always prompt and extremely friendly. Their funky patio is dog friendly(huge plus!). When we have friends or family in town, this is our go to place!

This is one of the most unique restaurants I’ve ever been to! The food is perfect and the restaurant itself it’s so cool. It’s on the bayou as well so you can sit by the water if you want. The staff seemed really friendly and happy to be there.

Unique, for sure. Killer beer selection, great BBQ(the baby backs were outstanding), and extremely entertaining and quirky building. With a bayou dock, multiple smokers, a monstrous crawfish boiler, live music pretty much every night, and LOTS of room on the property — this place is a massive party waiting to happen. Must visit, if only to see the place.

The Shed exists in its own time-space continuum not necessarily of our known solar system. And, that’s the mild version, PG rated. You absolutely owe it to yourself to experience The Shed, and you must expect absolutely anything and fear nothing. As far as the foodie aspects, it’s righteous barbecue, old school; there’s none finer in our known universe. There’s alcohol in every conceivable, and some inconceivable, forms. There’s music at times, Blues, the Mississippi Delta kind, mostly. You stand even odds of running into a national name in music, Hollywood, or the occasional swamp dwelling individual who refers to his pet alligator as «the wife;» and, you get there however you can: car, bike, boat, parachute in, they don’t give a damn. All are welcome. This is one of those«bucket list» items you hear about. There are fences bordering the swamp that do a reasonably good job keeping out the wild hogs, the gators and snakes, the odd raccoon, they might dart in and grab your beer if you’re not careful; one of the resident felines, Sabre, is truly loving and sweet, wouldn’t eat my leftover meat, but she’ll lick the mac and cheese right off your fingers. You have to go. You have to let The Shed inside you so you can feel good on bad days back home; this is cultural medication, something between psychiatry by cottonmouth and voodoo Jesus wailing the Blues. Sweet Lord, what a place, what a lifetime treasure. Y’all go. Just go.

Awesome atmosphere and killer food. One of the best bbq experiences I’ve ever had. The sausage was great and the brisket was too. Believe the hype. Go and see for yourself.

Average at best. Not sure how they got so famous. They wouldn’t last in Texas. The place itself is pretty neat. Price is high for what you get.

We have eaten here about 5 times over the last several years when we are passing through the area. The food is still good but the prices keep going up and the portion sizes keep shrinking. The place is usually packed so I guess they have no incentive to maintain their old standards. I had the brisket plate(Jumbo) and it was $ 17 and had 3 slices of brisket plus the sides. My wife had the chicken plate for $ 12 and it had ¼ chicken but the chicken was so small that ¼ of it had no meat on it. I’m not sure we will ever return. Too bad because the place used to be much better and well worth the stop.

We drive to New Orleans usually once a year and always make a point to stop at The Shed. It’s a really cool, unique place to chill out and have a beer. The last couple of years that we stopped, we felt that the place had turned into somewhat of a tourist trap, as the food quality had really declined. I guess they themselves noticed, because when we stopped there today, we were really wowed by some changes that they’ve made. First of all, the food was fantastic! I can’t say that enough. Everything we tried was delicious, including the Sweet Potato Casserole which was recommended by the girl at the bar. Spot on recommendation. Also, we both felt that the portions were larger than the last time we were there. Recently they’ve added a bunch of craft beer taps and a separate area out back that offers only crawfish and beer. To top it all off, they were blasting truly the best of the old blues classics so loudly that we opted to eat on the patio. The shed is a nice little gem not too far off of the interstate and worth a stop if you need to get out and stretch your legs. Or even if you don’t.

This Biloxi, Mississippi barbecue joint is outstanding! The atmosphere is perfect for a southern barbecue joint pretty much in the middle of nowhere off the interstate. Looks like an old shed they play blues in down on the bayou. The food: the baby back ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender(just the way I like ‘em), the pulled pork was delicious, and the sauce. .. the sauce was outstanding. So glad I have to travel west on the I-10 now so I can enjoy an encore.

I haven’t had BBQ this good since I visited Austin, TX(where I rave about the amazingness of The Salt Lick). Maybe it’s because I live in a no-good-food-vortex called Pensacola, FL where a delicious meal is hard to come by. Either way, The Shed is gem in southern Mississippi and everyone needs to try it if you’re passing through. I occasionally drive from P-cola to New Orleans so The Shed is a good place to stop since it’s at the halfway point and there’s a Chevron Gas Station. If you’re in a group of 2 moderately hungry people, I recommend getting this: Shed Sampler Platter…$ 26.00 Baby Back Ribs, Spare Ribs, Pork, Brisket, Chicken, Sausage served with 3 sides and 2BBQ breads If you’re in a group of 3 moderately hungry people, or 4 people who aren’t that hungry, I recommend getting this: Jumbo Sampler Platter…$ 36.00 Baby Back Ribs, Spare Ribs, Pork, Brisket, Chicken, Sausage served with 3 sides and 2BBQ breads Everything was so good – most notably the mac and cheese, brisket, and ribs. Service was excellent and all the classic farm décor(inside and out) made the experience greater. Thank goodness for this place’s existence because I was dying in the part of the country without great BBQ.

I ordered the sampler for myself as a first timer. I wanted to try it all, and all of it was delicious. Ribs fell off the bone, pulled pork was awesome, and their Mac n cheese is really, really good. I’m glad I got double Mac on my order. I even really liked their links and I’m not a sausage guy. The sampler didn’t appear to have sliced brisket though, and I was pretty bummed about that. Lots of good lookin’ friendly ladies making this place run, which is never a bad thing.

I had high hopes when we stopped by and walked out disappointed… When I saw this place on Food Network, I was very intrigued and told myself that I would have to stop by here. We pulled in and was little lost as to where the main entrance was, but we found it… when you walk in, grab the menu, review it and then you order the food and they bring the food to you as they yell your name. We went with Fried Pickle and Jumbo Sampler Platter…$ 36.00 — which come with — Baby Back Ribs, Spare Ribs, Pork, Brisket, Chicken, Sausage served with 3 sides and 2BBQ breads. For the sides we went with Mac-n-Cheese, greens and baked beans. Out of the entire plate of foods(they serve it in a metal lunch tray); the only thing that I liked was the baked beans. Don’t ever get the greens — worst food amongst the group… the meats were overcooked, but were moist… however it lacked flavors to enhance the taste of teach meat… They also do not provide the sauces, rather they place it on top, so if you need more sauce, you will need to ask for it. As the name states, the Shed… don’t expect too much in terms of interior design… the seating area is all picnic table… the bathroom is modern, but you might want to pass once you go in there… there is no door to the toilet, rather they use shower curtains… and it does have that odor that I could not determine. I walked away disappointed with their food… I don’t know if the timing was an issue? I don’t know… not sure if I’ll be revising the restaurant, but if I do, I just hope I won’t be disappointed again.

We had to stop by The Shed while on our getaway to Biloxi. We were not disappointed. We were fortunate enough a few years ago to amateur judge them in the Kingsford Tour of Champions event at Memphis in May. Great people, great family. The atmosphere, the BBQ, the overall experience, you must Get Fed At the Shed! Tell Brad & his family congratulations also on winning the MIM Grand Championship this year! You might see him sampling a cold Bud Light near the entrance. And, sample some of their great food while sipping on a cold Pabst Blue Ribbon draft.

Worth the Experience. Yes, it really is a backwoods place. Park on a gravel lot. Open your car door. Fill your lungs with BBQ goodness. Navigate the entrance w several decorative barriers and resist the urge to turn right, turn left, open the worn country door and strep into the light. But hold someone’s hand before you do! Be amazed by blinking lights, retail and a warm welcome coming somewhere… but before you can detect it… the smell of BBQ flattens you. See the prior reviews. Follow the prior Unilocal ordering and seating options. Take the Unilocal menu suggestions. And sit outside by the stage. Drink in the atmosphere and listen to the show from the outside of crickets and locust. Watch the beaded runner lights. And if the band is in session, which of the mid week time of writing was not… enjoy. From the looks of the stage, you are in for a real treat.
