This used to be my favorite place to go whenever I would get a chance to come back home. That all changed when I went out on a limb and ordered the muffaletta. Waited a nice twenty minutes for it to arrive. Finally, it came to my table! Excitedly, I took a huge bite. Wait, something doesn’t taste right. From my mouth, I extract a very, long, disgusting hair which I just had the pleasure of transferring from muffaletta to mouth. Hey, things like this happen, no big. However, if it didn’t take ten more minutes to find a waitress who were all to busy at the bar arguing over their tip share. If that weren’t enough, I was then met with adamant denial that anyone in the entire restaurant could have produced a hair that long, despite the waitress with long hair who was scratching her head as we left. Thanks a bunch, Mikeys. This is where we part ways.

Feels like a fish house, other than the deck it’s pretty grungy(not in a good way). Service was horribly slow the night we were there, but the place wasn’t packed. We had to wait, even though there were clearly open tables. Our waitress complained that she was also running the bar, so we didn’t get great attention(she left to go boxes and the check just in case she got tied up at the bar — really?) Food was a mixed bag — gumbo was very good but not super hot, shrimp poboy was eh, like any shrimp poboy you’ve had. My mom loved her fried oysters, kids liked the fries(but my kids like everyone’s fries). Felt like a dive that fries everything and marks up prices to get the tourists. As my 10 year old said«best part is the location.»

We ate at Mikey’s on the Bayou last night. The crab cakes were large and full of flavor. The oyster sampler was really great The oysters were so large we could hardly eat all of them. Katy was our waitress, she was always smiling and accommodating. Nothing fancy just really great food and friendly people

Best price on great oysters anywhere around. Atmosphere is perfect and service is great. Ignore the picky drama kings and queens and go have a good time.

The food was okay, nothing special. I had crab cakes, fries and a salad. I had to season the crab cakes heavily with hot sauce to eat them, I am not sure they were in fact a 100% crabmeat. I was disappointed considering the reviews… I give a three star rating based on the friendliness of the staff and ice cold beer.

Gotta love Mikey’s. You won’t be wow’d, but raw oysters are good and cheap. Beer is cold. View is good. Fries and rings are made in house and are good. Nice locals spot.

5 dollar oysters… nuff said… Super nice wait staff. It’s a bit dive-ish, but that’s the charm of a place like it. Would be back again and again.

Even though the service was a little slow, it was worth it. $ 5 raw oysters on the half shell were amazing. We had 2 dozen and were stuffed! I had the crawfish poboy, my husband had the soft shell crab poboy, both were great. We will eat here again!

Food was okay poboy had 8(at most) shrimp total. My child’s shrimp plate had more shrimp. Cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen staff left a lot to be desired. Watched a guy make dressing and lick his fingers(no glove used ever), Then he cut someone’s sandwich and held it down with the fingers he just licked. Floor under prep table has stuff under it(napkins? Trash? Not sure). I can’t do gross and dirty. Won’t return.

My husband ate 5 dozen on half shell! I nailed one. Divine! Better than any we ate in NOLA the past two days. Soft Shell Crab came with two big ones, nice salad, French fries, hush puppies. Enjoyed our great charbroiled oysters. Licked the shells. All great! Sat outside on the porch! Awesome night and great view overlooking the bayou! Staff is top notch! Family run. Good people! This is the real deal. Folks working hard, providing excellent grub at an economical, fair price! Mikey’s brother Tyrone was shucking, sister Cheryl usually a cook was our server! Good feelings here! Our kinda place. Real. Personable.

Went today for a beer and some oysters. Great prices on oysters… $ 5 a dozen!!! After 3doz one of the guys shucking told me that they farm their own oysters and then gave me one of the biggest oysters I’ve ever seen. There’s no middle man here so the oysters are super fresh and good. My waitress was very attentive and the folks that work there were all around good. If you love fresh oysters and good people I’d say give this place a try.

Stopped here on recommendation of a local. Oysters on the ½ shell were great and only $ 5 for a good bakers dozen. Also had the seafood bread, with cheese, shrimp, crab and some other ingredients baked on bread. We sat outside, the weather was beautiful.

Their food was very good, we stopped yesterday for lunch and split ½ of a muffaletta and onion rings. The onion rings were some of the best I’ve ever had. The sandwich was very tasty and enough to bring home to go with soup today.

Not to be too brief, but I don’t really get this place. Went for lunch and my gf ordered the $ 19 fried shrimp platter, and I got the $ 5 dozen oysters and highly recommended shrimp corn chowder. Everything was very, very mediocre at best. The oysters seemed deformed compared to some I just had at McElroy’s on the bayou, and much smaller muscles regardless of shell size. Pretty bummed because I thought this place was gonna be awesome. 3 stars, but minus one for the price.

yes one star! I would not eat here and checked out the place before deciding on another venue. Trashy Diner ambiance and only go if you are already drunk and don’t give a crap about food or service. This place is a dive and cannot be more adamant to STAYAWAY. Health Department needs to make an inspection.

We were kinda forced into eating at this place hiding from a storm, but I’m glad we did. Everything we ordered was well seasoned and fresh. The bayou burger with onion rings was really good. The waitress was very accommodating to our group of 13. And the prices were reasonable as well. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back if I’m ever in the area again. Don’t let the looks fool you.

Went here last night with a friend… can I just say that this place is AMAZING. Such good food and the prices are ridiculously fair. We split the seafood platter(LOTS of food, enough for the two of us), and got an order of the charbroiled oysters. The seafood platter has catfish, oysters, hush-puppies, shrimp, a lump crab cake that is BIG, and two sides. Wow. Dat’s a lotta food. The oysters were soooo plump and the freshest I have ever had. Perfectly cooked. You can get a dozen oysters for $ 7. A DOZENOYSTERSFOR $ 7. Take my money. The outside of the restaurant is faded and has that nostalgic older-restaurant feeling. Don’t be expecting a high-class, fine-dining experience, but do expect some good food and friendly people! The waiter was very friendly and sweet even though they were insanely busy at 9 o’clock on a Thursday night. Apparently locals know about this place. ;) Several people besides our waiter also checked on us to see how everything was and if we needed anything. As we left, everyone wished us a good night and thanked us. If i lived here, I would be a regular customer. I already want to go back. Good thing I bought myself one of their t-shirts as a memento.
