This store recently moved from Asbury Park to Ocean Grove to take advantage of higher volume foot traffic. Ocean Grove has a very nice 2 block section of Main Street that has many distinctive shops. We patronized the store in Asbury and were quite happy when the store relocated(and survived Hurricane Sandy). The proprietor is a very friendly sort who seems to actually like what he does and appreciates our business. Now that we have 2 grandsons, we will be frequenting the store. The store itself is a treasure of wooden toys, dolls, puzzles and books with hardly a battery operated toy in sight. Who knew — toys that allow children to use their imagination instead of a button. They have a great selection of Playmobile toys as well as a large selection of wooden train engines(Think«Thomas»), a favorite of our oldest grandson. Prices tend to be a little higher the the big box stores but this is my kind of shopping. Take a trip to Ocean Grove(the boardwalk was destroyed but the town is intact), visit all the shops, stop at Nagle’s for ice cream and then go to the Store By The Shore.
