Grotto Pizza

This place is okay, the soda tasted a little watered down but I put that up to ice. The side winder fries were delicious I would recommend them for sure. Up next is the wings, the sauce was not too good but not too bad, it was sweet with a hint of spicy and it is really not my cup of tea. Lately was the Pizza, it tasted like something I would expect from a bowling alley or chuckEcheese, not good. Overall rating ⁷⁄₁₀ average

My family and I sat in the bar tonight, which we usually stray from because we have 2 small children, but the atmosphere of this bar is family friendly! There’s plenty of TV’s and they’ll even turn the sound on to one over the music if you ask them too. Jade was our server and she was very pleasant and quick. Never had to ask for refills and even though she was busy she still had time to chat with us and make us feel welcome. Pizza was hot and had the perfect amount of cheese. Forewarning-​they put the sauce on top of the cheese. We also tried the broccoli and cheese balls because they don’t have jalapeño poppers anymore and they were delicious too.

With so many pizza and Italian restaurants in Ocean City, it feels that Grottos is lost in the sea of pizza places. I remember the first time I had Grottos was at Dewey Beach and for longest time favored Grottos than any other pizza place in Dewey.
It’s not your typical pizza. For the cheese, Grotto uses a combination of fontina and mozzarella cheese I believe. They sauce their pizzas twice both under the cheese and over with a swirl. You either going to love it or hate it.
I do still enjoy eating Grotto’s pizza, equally as much as your traditional pizza (Lombardi’s is still great; I dig Touch of Italy pizza) places. Just a matter of preference on the style and way it tastes.
They offer personal, regular, and large pizzas and a great gelato too. They also opened another location on the boardwalk too!

Another good experience at Grotto for lunch today. Excellent pizza. Waitress Becky is the best we’ve had on our trip.

Very loud on a Saturday night. Friendly service and the pizza was nice. There was an old-​school atmosphere that lent itself to an appreciation of its mom and pop roots.

I wanted to order a calzone for dinner. The restaurant guide and internet menu neglected to share pricing, as if to hide this data. I will order dinner from someone else.

Just went to Grottos for Dinner. Not a good experience. Waitress with too many tables. Ordered a12 inch pizza with cheese and a order of chicken fingers. Chicken fingers came out and the pizza 30 minutes later and was a16 inch. She was having problems with another tables check. Another table came and ordered a pizza and it came out in a short time. The location should have some training in serving customers. No one seemed to be in charge. Grottos should be concerned that all locations are kept to a higher standard.

Great pizza, friendly staff, clean. Went there twice over a quick emergency 3 day trip to OC. Good variety of pizza place food, portions were sufficient and they were pretty good tasting (although wow they like to fry stuff).
If I had to ding them on anything, it’s that they keep with the OC tradition and charge a bit too much money for stuff. Not over the top like Bad Monkey, where lunch for 5 was $ 110 before tip, with no alcohol, but still, a tad pricey.
Also, for some reason I saw water dripping from the ceiling at an AC grate. You can see a lot of discoloration in the tiles around the various AC vents so I suspect this is an issue all summer.

this pizza is okay but not great
There’s not much cheese on the pizza, but I can’t fake on those olives, caramelized onions, and mushrooms. The toppings are worth it (a few dollars for each). Plus I got to sit near the boardwalk where I could flex and have my tattoo glitter in the moonlight. Or I could flaunt the henna tattoo on my other arm if I had eaten that pie in the daylight no homo.

We were pleasantly surprised by this place. Good pizza, and an amazing view. We had the cheese pizza and a wedge salad, and we were really pleased. Will be back during our next visit to ocean city.

So disappointed in service here. We ordered a half spinach and feta pizza n half cheese. We got half cheese and fiesta. When we informed our server, she said the one she gave us was 20 cents cheaper rather than apologizing and fixing it for us. In the future perhaps Grotto should better train staff to accommodate customers and give them what they ordered or fix their errors. I asked for a cheese slice for my one friend who didn’t eat chicken and our waitress gave us an overcooked slice. Shame Grotto for such poor service. Lombardis is way better!

Very welcoming once you get in. But after you sit down and order it’s like your on your own.
The pizza is flavorless and soggy. food came out slightly warm. The Strombonis have little to no cheese and the chicken has no flavor.
DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY$$ go get DOMINOES INSTEAD

The food was good and the service was good too. A little loud and cramped. The pizza was better than most of your typical pizza just had a better flavor. The AC was broken the day I went so it was not the most pleasant experience that I have had with a restaurant but the food was still good. They were given a 3 Due to the AC issue. If they had a working AC they would probably have gotten a 4, probably.

Stopped in for lunch Saturday while cruising the Boardwalk. We weren’t in the mood for pizza so I tried the steak panini and onion rings and found them pretty tasty. It was all pretty good and you can’t beat the $ 3 beers! Sharon took good care of us.

Great beer specials, nice pour in a large glass only $ 2. Always great pizzas, had a cheese pizza for the kids, which they devoured. Mrs and I ordered the Milano pizza, which had fresh tomatoes, basil, and cheese blend, plus olive oil with herbs & spices. It was a terrific pizza, and was even praised by our waitress when we ordered it. Restaurant was very clean, and kids even got balloons on the way out the door. Definitely one of the more «family friendly» pizza joints in OC.

Great food, mediocre service. But I expect having our large party seated 10 min before closing didn’t help.

Excellent service, great food, great atmosphere. Our waiter was helping us order what we wanted and use coupons to receive our best pricing he was very helpful.

Pizza is ok but overly priced. I was expecting more than I received. I spent $ 15 on three slices (2pepperoni and one cheese) and two regular drinks.
Not impressed.

Very, very good pizza and the wings were way better than the Hooters near by.
Prices were reasonable though I feel fries should come with subs like at most places.
I like that they offer pizza by the slice.
I had the veg Panini which was very good but I did need to add balsamic to it.
The tuna sub was huge and loaded with white tuna.
Friendly service and clean inside.
