I have been to Compass several times and have never been disappointed. Janice gave a great therapeutic massage and I highly recommend this spa!

My friend and I went for massages the Friday before Mother’s Day and what a great way to start our weekend! I had a deep tissue massage from Holly for 90 minutes and it was wonderful! She is small but her hands are very strong and I felt so relaxed afterward. The spa is very small but it is cozy and the therapists are very welcoming. I will definitely go again!

This was was third massage and it was fantastic. My first massage was with Mod and these last two were with Janice. All 3 were relaxing and therapeutic. I will be back on a regular basis. The atmosphere, professionalism and skill of the therapists — the best massages I have ever had. I highly recommend Compass Spa

Small, clean, no frills. Owner was really warm and welcoming– she honored my expired gift certificate which I really appreciated. Prices are reasonable. Therapist was pretty good– I will return!

Yesterday I experienced the best massage possible! Jacqui has an amazing touch and a wonderful spirit. My best friend suggested a reiki massage and it was very therapeutic and completely lifted my spirit.
I have recently gone through a tragedy in my life and actually began to cry at one point during my massage. Jacqui was very compassionate and just allowed me to be in the moment.
This was my second experience with Compass and both times have been amazing. I highly recommend these ladies. They are exceptional!

I was eagerly anticipating a wonderful experience, based on glowing reviews from my Ocean City travel buddy who had a successful visit to Compass last year. The ambiance in the reception are was warm and welcoming.
Unfortunately, my enthusiasm upon arrival quickly waned when the massage began. After thinking over the experience for several hours, I am finally swayed to write one of my rare Unilocal reviews (usually positive).
This was unfortunately the worst massage that I’ve ever experienced. Points of comparison: high end spas on Maui (Grand Wailea) and in Hershey, PA (Hotel Hershey) as well as at chains like Hand & Stone and Massage Envy and massage schools (Lansdale and State College, PA). Luckily this review can be softened by the fact that travel partner was pleased with her massage with therapist Holly. I am purposefully omitting the name of my therapist, since adding it here would not be constructive.
1. Therapist did not introduce herself, so I had to ask. This was a little unprofessional, but ok, no biggie.
2. Therapist spent ~10 (?) minutes holding my face, barely moving. It was explained by the therapist only at the end of the massage that this was cranial sacral massage. Her goal was apparently to balance my face (??) and even out /​balance my ears (which are uneven from birth and will never move). I was becoming anxious that the actual massage would not begin in a timely manner, though the clock was ticking. I asked the therapist to please spend all of her time on my upper body, so as to move things along, but the unexpected non-​moving face holding and pressing on my sinuses (uncomfortably restricting the air flow and making me mouth breathe) continued. Perhaps this is a common practice in other sorts of massage; however, it was a surprise to me after frequent massages elsewhere.
3. The therapist was friendly, but initially overly chatty. This was not relaxing. I eventually was able to steer the conversation towards something more quiet and peaceful.
4. The massage was generally uncomfortable, resulting in wincing and actually saying «ow» on a few occasions. This has never happened before. The therapist promptly repeated the same motion over the «ow» spots, which was odd. Each time anything felt good/​relaxing (specifically only on a kneecap and a left shoulder… which was unfortunately all that felt good during this specific massage), I verbally gave positive feedback.
5. Significant time was spent by stretching my legs and pushing my knees up towards my chest (especially awkward when naked under a sheet!) instead of massaging. Similarly, limbs were loosely rotated, but not in a way that increased the range of motion. I finally asked the therapist to please add some traction. This helped a little to actually feel something positive other than like a half-​heartedely jiggled rag doll.
6. Summary: This experience felt like an expensive pinch, poke, and jiggle application of body lotion, but not a massage. Very little therapeutic massaging was felt. Only approximately 5 minutes of satisfactory touch occurred out of a 50 minute service. I considered walking out at several points.
Although I am disappointed in the lack of «connection» with my therapist, I am pleased that my friend had a nice experience in the next room over. I arrived happy and relaxed, yet left the business uncomfortable and stressed. I’m glad that there are plenty of other positive reviews for Compass. Maybe this experience was a fluke.

I enjoyed my facial very much. The atmosphere was very relaxing. The technician was very knowledgeable and competent.

Three of us had massages and facials and we were all exceeding happy with the therapists. I would suggest body work over facials (from my own experience, but my therapists did say she didn’t do many facials so be sure to ask when booking). Small place, but it was clean and quiet. I called about a Unilocal check-​in deal and they accepted it in the salon upon check-​in instead of me having to purchase it online. Excellent customer service!

Had a couples massage with my daughter who was attended to by Liz. I was attended to by Mod. Mod is STRONG! Worked out all my sore leg muscles and paid extra attention to my feet. My daughter received more focus on her feet and legs. She is a budding ballerina. Liz informed us that her right leg is tighter than her left. My best friend was attended to by Jacqui. She is still moaning and groaning in pleasure. I’m like, «girl shut up !» Lol. It was a great experience for us all. When we return to OCNJ we will definitely treat ourselves again!

I went here with my cousin the day before my wedding to destress and I’m so glad we did! I had Holly for a deep tissue massage and she is probably the best masseuse I’ve ever had. She knew so many little details about the muscles and different techniques. I wish I would have purchased the hour and a half because she was that good! I highly recommend her & this spa — reasonable in price as well.

One of the best massages I’ve ever had. The manager at the front desk was very friendly, professional, and accommodating. The spa was clean, but had a warm, welcoming vibe. They were able to get me in for a 90 minute therapeutic massage (same day)! My massage therapist, Diane, was wonderful. She focused on my problem areas, and used the perfect amount of pressure. I was pleasantly surprised that Diane incorporated hot stones /​towels, and aromatherapy into the therapeutic massage. When I left, I made sure to book an appointment for my husband as well. I wish we lived closer, as I’d love to get regular massages here!

Best massage ever. Holly is very talented! I went in with pain and tensioning my shoulder and neck. She erased that and then some.
