I would give these fools no stars! I’m a at a loss for words with how unprofessional this lady is in this shop. Her poor husband or whoever that guy is in there has to calm her down and remind her it’s ok for customers to take a business card. Last I checked people have business cards for customers, if you are going to be an inconsiderate, cheap, disrespectful old woman because I want to compare your outrageous quote with others in the area then get out of town because I can assure you only so many people will put up with your business and your work ethics for so long. I know I’m not the only other person out there who shops around for the best price before settling. And let me make it clear, your shop is a rip off and I am happy I pulled my husbands suit off your rack, you won’t be ripping me off and I’ll make sure other military families don’t use your business when I post this review to them. This place wanted 120.00 for the same work on base would do for 60.00.Yea! No thank you! So obviously we went on base. Never have I ever dealt with such a crazy woman or business owner before. Hopefully the man after me who was arguing with you over the outrageous price you quoted him pulled his stuff off the rack too because he saw how much a unprofessional, crazy woman you are.

Excellent tailoring but they were way expensive. I’d say take it to them if you’ve got a important tailoring fix like wedding attire. If you don’t mind dishing out the bread for good work then have at it.

After seeing a review on here, we took a wedding dress and two bridesmaids’ dresses to this seamstress to have the hems taken up. Initially, she told us that she was going to charge $ 35 for hems, per layer on the dresses. The bridesmaids’ dresses were 2 layers and the wedding dress was one and only needed a hem in the front, no bustle, etc. which actually made it easier to do than the bridesmaids’ dresses. Well after years of prom, homecoming and Military Ball dresses, I have a pretty good idea what is a fair amount to pay for hemming a formal dress. And my initial impression was that each dress was going to cost $ 70 for the hem. Wrong. She had us each try on the dresses, marked them with chalk and even pinned up the wedding gown front hem. But then she tried to tell us that it was going to cost almost $ 600 for taking up the hems on these gowns. One bridesmaids’ dress was priced at $ 100; one because it had a drape in the front which required a piece of material about 8 inches long to require an additional hem was going to be $ 155 and the wedding gown hem was going to be $ 300. When I refused to pay these prices because it was contradictory to the prices she was first quoting me, she got very angry and demanded that I pay $ 20 each for a fitting which I agree she should be compensated for her time, but as I was getting the money out of my purse, she was tearing the pins out of the wedding dream hem. I am sorry but I don’t agree with that, I am still paying for the fitting, you can’t turn around and tear it out. I still, however, paid her. I later found out she tore the dress. We immediately went to My-Le’s Needle in Brookfield Plaza in Springfield. She is fixing the tear in the wedding dress and hemming the gowns for a total cost of $ 170. While Potomac Tailors’ skills might be good, their business practices and customer service is sketchy, so approach them with extreme caution.

This shop is located at the entrance to Neighborhood 5, across from FM Furniture(the old Steve & Barry’s location.) I’ve been bringing my clothing to them for at least 7 – 8 years, and have lost track of the number of times I’ve used their services. Anything my family has needed altered — from Versace suits to cheer uniforms to prom dresses to all my jeans — this nice couple has been more than up to the task. I’ve received 100% topnotch quality service from them; I’m an extremely satisfied customer!
