The rice was good, like any decent Chinese takeout place it had egg and some vegetables. The duck billed as a half duck is a leg quarter with nothing else. I make as good at home and include the cabbage and rice that authentic places always include. Ribs, lol, they charge for an order and they take two ribs and chop them into 1 ½ inch pieces. The pieces have sharp edges that cut every time you try to eat them and the quantity is a joke.

Legit Chinese food! Surprised to find authentic Chinese/Cantonese food in the Florida suburbs. Went right when they opened for dinner at 4.30pm and it was already packed! Service is good, but pretty much first come first serve. The table next to us was just 5 min before us but they ordered right away and got all their food super fast. We probably ordered after a few of the other tables so our food ended up taking much longer to come. The food all came piping hot and fresh! Flavors were pretty on point. My family enjoyed the roast duck very much and raved about the quality. The stir fry dishes were great. I tried 3 of the veggie dishes which were all great! The sauteed snow pea leaves with mushroom was my favorite, followed by braised tofu. The crispy hong kong noodles were also thoroughly enjoyed. I liked that the food was not overly greasy(unlike some other Chinese restaurants). The menu is huge and there is a large selection of dishes– definitely something for everyone. Large vegetable menu for vegetarians– I told them to hold the oyster sauce and they gladly complied. The restaurant itself was nice and brightly lit with good ambiance/décor. Nothing too gaudy or cheap looking. Prices were reasonable as well. We got 6 entrée dishes + 1 soup for ~$ 100. I think they could have used an extra waiter or so just to have more attentive service, but nothing so bad that I wouldn’t return. FYI– my family is Asian and we all agreed this place is one of the better Asian restaurants in Florida. Also I am from NYC and I think the quality of food here can be comparable to some Chinese restaurants in Chinatown here! I think this will be my family’s place of choice for family dinners when we go out in the future.

This was an unexpected delicious meal in the Pets Mart plaza. The service was under 10 min wait for our lunch, and the quality of the food was very good. The price is under $ 10 for lunch and includes a drink. I was very please and will be returning, a good healthy option in Ocala.

Mr. Yummy is the perfect name for great Chinese. Go with the Spicy Yummy Chicken if you want a great change from Gen. Tso’s.

The yummy lives up to its name. Slightly off the beaten path, I found the the place to have a nice atmosphere, clean restrooms and eating area. The food was incredible. Some of the best I’ve ever had.

Place was super clean, staff extremely friendly and the food was excellent. Had a tofu and pork dish. The silken tofu was perfectly cooked. The pork offset tofu correctly and the light brown sauce was full of flavor.

We frequent Asian food restaurants fairly often. Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese take out or buffets, some good some bad, but really nothing worth mentioning. Except Yummy House. This place has amazing Chinese food, fresh ingredients, excellent flavors. If you love Chinese food or you are just in the mood for it, but hate takeout, buffets or Panda Express cause you are aware of their poor quality… Then this is the place to get your general tso’s chicken fix. Pricier than any other Chinese restaurant but it is definitely worth it!

Excellent food, friendly service. Very clean place. Nice menu. Highly recommended! We had orange chicken and almond chicken, both very good. They will customize orders, such as no breading on an entrée.

the food is great. service horrible. i called in for takeout dim sum today. guy tells me it’ll be 15 mins. i get there 25 mins later and the food still wasn’t ready. so i asked the host to check how much longer it would take. he says, «let me run to the kitchen and see.» i stood there watching him stack menus. «i thought you were going to go check.» «yes, let me run to the kitchen to see.» continues to stack menus. «seriously, go now and check. i dont have all day to wait for you to go stack menus.» he goes, comes back with half of my order. «they are still working on your sticky rice and egg tarts.» «so how much longer? you know what, nevermind, i’ll just pay for these.» «but they are working on it.» «look, i dont have all day to wait. you told me 15 mins and it’s been 30. just tell me how much i owe you for this or i’m going to leave.» «okay, sir.» i get that sometimes you have to wait a bit longer for takeout. but when you tell me you will go check but decides to stack menus(cuz you know, it’s urgent you have the menus all stacked up), that’s where i draw the line. yummy house will no longer have my business. i would rather drive down to tampa for my dim sum from now on.

Very good. Have had carry out form here on 2 occasions, but next time want to dine in. Very nice atmosphere and looks to be either new or recently remodeled. Had chicken with broccoli, egg rolls, and pot stickers. All were excellent.

A lot cleaner and much nicer ambience and service than at their Tampa locations. I loved the salt and pepper tofu, which is my go to at many places. My boyfriend tried duck for the first time and it was a great experience there. Not in Ocala very often(and really not a fan of the area– this is one of the few gems I’ve found), but I’d definitely come back if in the area.

We got the salt & pepper calamari dish, fried rice and lo mein for lunch. Everything was so good, very inexpensive with a friendly staff. We got there minutes before they closed for lunch but the employees were very helpful & cordial not in a hurry to kick us out. We were just passing through and it was more than we expected in a strip mall. Very good food & service. I’d definitely give them a try. Thanks!

Coming back from a little road trip out West, we decided this is a good place for a sit-down meal on a Saturday night before making our way back home to Orlando. Having already visited the Yummy House locations in Tampa(Hillsborough Ave.) and Sarasota, I had somewhat high expectations that this one in Ocala hopefully stacks up to the other ones. I was right and wrong in some areas. Here’s the breakdown: * The interior décor is pretty spacious and inviting. I would say this is about the same size as the one in Sarasota but definitely not as big as the one in Tampa. * We ordered 6 dishes to share that night: salt & pepper calamari, Chinese broccoli steamed vegetable, beef chow fun noodle, beef stew clay pot, seafood tofu clay pot and grouper fish tofu clay pot, plus 2 bowls of white rice(the server had already warned us there would be a $ 1 charge for each white rice which is OK). Within not even 10 minutes, all of the 6 dishes came out to our table as well as the rice. We were highly impressed with the exceptionally quick service especially on a Saturday night. * The beef chow fun noodle dish tasted yummy as always with the right amount of beef and wok-flavor on the noodles. The salt & pepper calamari was OK although I was hoping there would be more cuts of jalapeño added in. However my big issue out of all the meals is the excessive sauce/gravy in the clay pot dishes. For a clay pot dish to be cooked right, there should be a perfect balance of the amount of sauce cooked with the foods, but tonight unfortunately there was too much of it which basically made us feel like we’re consuming a highly drenched meal. I took a pic of the finished clay pot dishes with the sauces remaining at half-full :( Despite the results from our clay pot dish experience, the total bill for the 4 of us came out to just a little over $ 70 which was pretty reasonable for authentic Chinese Cantonese food. Not sure if I plan to come back here again due to the distance, but I think it’s nice that Ocala has an option for real Chinese cuisine. There is certainly potential to make their clay pot dishes better tasting so hopefully the management recognizes it and be able to attract more of them to the people in Ocala.

I would have gladly offered higher marks but they should be embarrassed serving their signature dish; Spicy Yummy Chicken. Excessively coated in batter cheating the customer in value and robbing them from experiencing a delicately fried piece of chicken.

Authentic Chinese food! The best you’ll find in Florida. I go to their other locations in Tampa and Sarasota as well. And the waiter said that another location will open in Orlando soon. I crave the same dishes that I always get, a ½ of the roasted duck(it has crispy skin but juicy meat and a great pan drippings sauce), the house fried rice(with a little extra sesame oil), the Chinese broccoli(with added raw chopped up garlic sautéed with it; the whole cloves that come in the dish are too bland. I recommend that you insist upon this!), and the shrimp and scallops in garlic sauce with snow peas, celery, carrot and mushrooms. HEAVEN! I just wish that I could get smaller portions and not have to order 4 huge dishes which gets expensive for 1 person $ 50 plus tip. This could have fed 4 though! And I will eat the leftovers!

This chain is finally in in full operation. Seem like the lunch service is good to go. I have put my order in for lunch and they came out in 15 minutes. The service is good and I get full attention. This is the last addition to the chain of the Yummy House Chinese Restaurant in Ocala. I can finally said I visit them all-Hillsborough Ave, Water Ave, Sarasota, Gainesville. The restaurants are consistence as a group. Today I have the sizzling frog leg and stuff tofu clay pot. I alway like these two dishes due to they set in hot sizzling plate and clay pot. You can enjoy the food while you have friend love to talk while the food still keep in temperature hot for a long time. The sizzling frog is cook in the ginger and scallion sauce. I like they keep the frog meat intact as whole when they stir fry them and put at the hot plate. It make your neighbor customer jealous due to the delicious food smell passing along. The stuff tofu clay pot are the soft fried tofu stuff with ground shrimp meat. Then it stir fry in sweet sauce with vegetable. Then they serve in hot clay pot. Most of time when it come out, it still bubbling. Overall this restaurant is bigger than the one in Gainesville about the same size in Sarasota. They have bar section you can eat and watch TV. The decoration is modern and classy. Please check them out.

Hanging out in the town of Ocala, FL where my in-laws recently moved, checking out the downtown scene, sipping some brews while watching the Pinstripe bowl. Not ready to settle down for the night, we all had a hankering for some chinese. We contacted Yummy House because they were right around the corner from the house. They were scheduled to close at 9:00. When we informed the person on the phone that we would be there by 8:30 they stated that they were not taking any more customers at 8:30. Driving home we didn’t like our options, especially giving the deplorable conditions of the Golden Coral on the way, and I like Golden Coral. Anyway, my father-in law is not the go with the flow kind of guy. He pulled up in front of the restaurant at 8:45 and told my his wife, my wife, and her two sisters to go see if we could get in. They walked up to the door, said party six, and were seated. We parked the car and joined them. Moral of the story, don’t call just go! I channeled my late nights in Philadelphia at David’s Mai Lai Wah and immediately Salt & Pepper shrimp came to mind. Since everyone didn’t want shrimp we settled for calamari. That calamari was spot on. Fried to the right point and seasoned well. We also shared an order of egg-rolls. My father in-law and I wanted duck but there was no more duck. I think they just said that because it was late but hey, they sat us close to closing time. No complaints here; especially after a few bites of that Mongolian beef. We also ordered the beef and broccoli, and the vegetable fried rice. My father-in law loves to eat Asian food especially family style so ordering multiple dishes is a must. Just looking to curb our night time hunger, Yummy House went beyond. They provided us with so much food. I can’t wait to go again the next time I am in Ocala. They’ve just heighted my stomachs anticipation for next time.

This review is mainly for the dim sum. I came here with my family on Christmas day; they were pretty busy, since not a lot of other places were open in Ocala, but we only waited about 15 – 20 minutes for a table of 5. They only had two carts of dim sum items, but covered most of the staple dim sum dishes. In addition, we ordered a dish of snow pea tips with garlic; it was delicious and had huge chunks of roasted garlic in it! As for the dim sum dishes: — Siu mai: the best thing there, in my opinion — White turnip cake: lackluster — Chive buns: I don’t know if it’s just my bad luck or what, but I got a mouthful of sandy stuff when I bit into mine — Tofu skins with veggies wrapped inside: tasty — Tsa sao bao(white bun with sweet red meat inside): okay — A couple of other dishes, but I don’t really remember them being exceptionally good or bad So I would definitely come back here for the siu mai, but I wish all the other dim sum dishes were as delicious. Still, I’m glad there’s a dim sum place in Ocala if I need to get my fix when I’m here visiting!

Yummy is currently suffering the blues which is common place for most new restaurants. Eventually the front of house will coordinate with the back of house and all will be running smoothly. In the interim I experienced service and cook problems and we were left sitting w/inaccurate/cold or no food. The dim sum was well, yummy… as are their other stores. However the Lotus Leaf Sticky Rice suffered from lack of flavor/proteins and was on the small size. I think it’s flavor was transported to the Century Egg Congee because it was over loaded with goodness. On the other hand I would of enjoyed it more if it weren’t so thin. Carts should be in place on the weekends soon so it will cut down on those individual cooking times. Prices are on point for most of the items but the 2 previous mentioned items were too pricey. Thank you Yummy for having the insight that Ocala might love a decent Szechuan & Dim Sum franchise and for bringing us into the 21st century.
