Wow, amazing Indian food right off of the Interstate! Tandoori chicken was moist and filled with flavor, Chicken Tikka Masala-med heat– was so deep with flavor. Started with huge Samosa and stuffed naan. Leftovers for home! Excellent food in Ocala, we will be back!

Had the panir masala with garlic and sweet naan. I’m from NJ where finding really good indian food is easy. I was surprised to find this restaurant. The dishes are similar to what I’m used to and the environment has a welcoming ambience. I would definitely recommend! I wouldn’t be surprised if this is the best Indian food place on the west coast of Florida!

We were on our road trip driving to New York, when we stopped for lunch and searched for Indian restaurant– it is always our first choice. We found Amrit Palace and Looking over all these great reviews, I was excited to try it out. When we arrived, I was disappointed that they did not have a lunch buffet(usually we are lucky to find $ 10-$ 14 Indian lunch buffet) but at least they offered lunch special for $ 9.95 that included one dish with rice, soup and naan. Overall, the food was okay, but not that good that I would return. One thing that surprised me was the customer service. The waiters did not seem very friendly, they actually looked tired or bored, I never saw them smiling. It looked like they want to go home. Being myself in Hospitality field, I always notice things like that. For Lunch special they had plenty of options(2 chicken, 2 lamb and 6 vegetarian dishes — so yeey, for vegetarians, good thing!) that included rice, Dahl soup, fresh naan and onion chutney. I ordered vegetable curry with masala sauce instead of cream sauce, for which they charged me $ 2 extra(I was advised before so it’s okay). — The Dahl soup was so so, in my opinion: too much garlic and too watery. I would not order it separate. — The vegetable curry was much better but not one of the best Indian curries I have tried. It was pretty thick, I would prefer more sauce. — The naan was okay but it was too much butter on top. I don’t know why they do that — butter puddles on top of my naan? No, thanks. Indian food is heavy enough already. I heard another customer ordering«bread without butter» so this is what I was supposed to do. — I sampled onion chutney but I didn’t feel like eating it with naan. They could have brought papadum to complement the chutney, it goes well together, and most restaurants bring chutney together with papadum — free of charge. After trying so many Indian restaurants all around the world, I can’t give this place more than 3 stars.

Actually good and authentic North Indian restaurant! Traveling from Southern California we never expected that we will eat such good Indian food. Southern Californian Indian restaurant should learn what it mean by authentic Indian. Good and prompt service and food really tasty and aromatic. Definitely a good place to try!

Best Indian Resturant in North Central Florida! Been here thrice. Ordered different dishes every single time and they were perfect every single time. Service is quick and the owners take a lot of pride in the business and engage with the customers! Would suggest to anyone who loves Indian Food!

This is one of my favorite places to eat. Every time I come here I leave so happy that I forget to leave my review… I just thought about how good my lunch was last week and it dawned on me that this place really deserves a kind review for their consistently great performance. It is always a pleasant experience to visit Amrit Palace, so much so that I recall those good memories often with great fondness.

Food is pretty good and nice beer. We were driving from Tampa to new jersey after vacationing with kids and family. Went there based on Unilocal reviews. Everything was good except service, specially our waiter who was very rude in every conversation. I am not sure if he is son of the owner or relative, but he needs to understand if he wants to handle waiter job, then better be good to customers. He was more consumed in his mustache, then taking care of customers. He dumped the food on our table like he is doing a favor to us. I am sorry to write big story, but want to make people knows about it before going there.

This is by far the best Indian restaurant in town. If you’re looking for a good romantic dinner out or a family get together and enjoy good flavorful food, then this is the place to be! My wife and I had the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Lamb Mushroom with a side of Garlic Nan! We’ve been here several times and the food has been consistently top-notch and packed with flavor. Great ambiance and great food. You’ll never go wrong with Amrit Palace!

Great place! Went here for lunch while on vacation: had the chicken curry at medium spice — — some of the best I’ve had with a good spicy tickle. First time with dal soup, but lovely flavor as well. Definitely give the aloo stuffed naan with onion chutney a try! Service was fantastic and food came out hot and quickly.

I came all the way from pennsylvania on an orlando and tampa sight seeing. I happened to come across this restaurant while on our way back to Atlanta. Its a must visit if you are near tampa or ocala area. Very nice ambience and clean. Ambience depicts of Punjab state of india– well known place for spicy and delicious food in india. I just love their food. We ordered some veggie stuff and guess what, the food is too good as their ambience. Its a must visit if you like indian food.

Great Indian Food We were heading down I-75 at dinnertime and I had heard about Amrit. I was expecting something good, but it was really great. We’ve traveled in Punjab, the region of India where the owners come from, and the food was like a visit back there. The menu is fairly extensive and reasonably priced. The restaurant is really beautiful inside and everything was very clean. All the servers were friendly and welcoming and helpful. Wow! I would have thought a restaurant this good would be in a big city. We’re lucky that it was in nice, little Ocala and right near the highway. We’ll be back.

This Indian restaurant is located near I-75 at Ocala. I was attracting by number of Unilocalers that give the reviews. I am going to check it out. The drive is very easy from the interstate. Tonight my dinner I have order the Tandoori Chicken and chicken curry. The tandoori chicken came in sizzling hot plate. My plate is a half chicken. It accompanied with rice, curry sauce, chili onion red sauce, and green sauce. The tandoori chicken is actually place over the onion on the hot plate. This is clever ideal to avoid the chicken to be burn. My wife loves the marinated garlic, yogurt, ginger, and Indian spice that in the tandoori chicken. The sizzling sound and smoke make your appetite ready for the meal. The second dish is the chicken curry. I have asked for the medium hot where I consider not spicy at all. But my wife likes it this way and she said just right for her. This a boneless chicken cook in Indian Curry Spice. Curry spice in Malaysia is a bit different due to southern India. They use wet curry that mix by local Indian with turmeric, cumin and wide range of local spice such as yellow ginger, chili… The curry in America is prepared by the dry powder. I like the thick curry instead of the watery curry which they have prepared it. Curry is gone well with rice and Nan bread. You can pick up the last drop of the gravy with Nan. Don’t get the curry to finger of dress. It is difficult to get it out. Overall the restaurant is great in service. The only thing is the table of the booth space is narrow. The table edge to stomach is approximate 6″. To me the spice need to be heavier, but to my wife is just right. The price range of the food is from $ 13 to $ 27. Portion is just right but not enough for left over to take home.

Loved it! Does not matter it’s in Ocala — loved it! My other truly stand out Indian restaurant is in Northampton, Massachussets. Oh, and there is also one in San Rafael, California. This place is authentic, has a very nice ambiance and décor and very friendly waiters. There were also many Indians dining here, which you know is a good sign. We tried the dal soup, the eggplant entrée and vegetable tikka masala — a special order on my behalf. Along with the garlic naan and a roti bread. There was not one morsel left on the table. They do not serve you those thin thin lentil crackers most Indian restaurants do, which is fine as I don’t particularly care for them anyhow. A great stop and very easy to get to being immediately off i-75.
