First and foremost, the customer service was awesome. Very friendly staff. Property is older. The bathtub apparently had a hole in it, so maintenance«fixed» it with a huge mound of caulking… not good as the caulking was very hard. Room was clean enough. Breakfast was good… typical waffles, danish, cereal, etc.

I wanted to give a thank-you to the staff of this hotel. I didn’t stay so cannot review the room. I live on the SW side of Columbus, and was driving home yesterday afternoon after having a medical appt. in Chillicothe. I’ve only lived in Cbus a few months, after marrying my husband — very unfamiliar with the area though am from just an hour south. Anyway, there was some kind of wreck on 270, so I couldn’t access 270W at all. I panicked fearing running out of gas so took 270E and got off at Obetz. This was the first place I saw so my husband, on the phone, told me to stop and get inside since it was 90 degrees and I was having a panic attack due to not being able to get my anti-depressant on time. I felt unable to drive any further at the time, so husband left work early to come get me. The staff let me stay in the lobby, and were kind and understanding. The front desk was right in front of the small lobby. They were attentive and did question me which was right of them to do. I’d never been to Obetz. I only ended up driving into it a little on our alternate route home. It’s industrial, kind of blue collar — reminds me a lot of Chilli. The hotel premises was older, and I wasn’t expecting much from the outside. Though, the lobby was clean and well-kept. I’d definitely stay at this hotel if I had the occasion. Sometimes we take mini vacations at hotels around the area or in southern Ohio since I often go back down there. Yes, I know, but my husband is a contractor so gets little vacation time. This allows me to sort of preview various areas around Cbus so I can get a better feel of the city. I’ve never been a big fan of Cbus or large cities in general. We may move to a different area of the city once my husband gets a permanent position — depending on where he works. I definitely may make another stop to this inn. The previous review concerns me a little bit, but this seems to be an issue with the Holiday Inn brand as well, and I’ve never had that issue myself with Holiday.

We stayed at this mediocre Quality Inn in Obetz, OH — which is obviously geared toward truckers — while driving from Georgia to New York for the holidays. An hour before arriving, I called to check availability and was quoted $ 79 a night and told to just come in, no reservation needed. We showed up after midnight, again quoted $ 79 and checked in for one night. We left before 11 a.m. the next morning and said goodbye to the front desk staff. When we got our credit card statement, we were charged for 3 nights. I called the hotel 3 times, left detailed messages. No one called me back. Am now disputing the charge and the hotel is fighting it. We won’t be staying at any Choice Hotels again.
