My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Silver Oak Cellars. The lady pouring was a delight. Her love of her job was evident. She was pleasant and warm. The wine was superb as well. This is a must do winery while in Napa!

One of my favorite Cabernet producers has a beautiful winery. It’s not as elaborate or interesting in terms of setting like Kuleto, Cade, Del Dotto, etc., but elegant. The tasting doesn’t include a huge variety of wines, but the wine they have is excellent and pours are generous. Check it out and enjoy.

My sister and I visited Silver Oak late in the afternoon and it was almost closing. You would have never known it. They were very welcoming and never made us feel like we were being rushed. We did a $ 25 current reease tasting. Itwas very nice and glad we visited. There tasting room was modern, plenty big and very beautiful. The only complaint was there were a few children running around and a baby crying for a good part of our visit. I didnt feel it was a suitable place for families.

Yummmyyyyy. Just cabs; tasting is $ 20 for three wines, which is steep but our server kindly also let us try the 2007 Napa Valley cab. It was one of the pricier options but it was so good my friend and I ended up picking up several bottles. You get to keep the glass and they have breadsticks for you to munch on and soak up the booze in your system. The venue is gorgeous and they have lots of little things for you to look at. It’s a bit packed but nothing unmanageable. Feels a bit more corporate than some of the other wineries which is slightly less fun in my experience, but can’t really complain. I had a good time here.

One of the best wineries in wine country. They don’t have a great reputation for nothing. Excellent customers service and delicious wine. The napa 2010 was incredible. Had to buy a bottle. They also gave you a half descent pour at the tasting. My wife and I don’t need to get drunk but if you are a paying customer you want your monies worth. Beautiful grounds as well.

Third times a charm. Over the years, we’ve tried unsuccessfully to taste at Silver Oak — due to random events the winery was closed our last two attempts. We decided to give it one more go the day after our wedding, success! I’m not entirely knowledgable in the wine department(getting there!) but I know that Silver Oak sets the bar high. Their wines are delicious and the grounds are beautiful. The tasting room is spacious, well-kept, and has a variety of gifts and décor to browse, and will likely keep you there for a while. I was surprised how generous they were with the tasting pours. In some instances, we were poured almost half-glasses. Woohoo! Needless to say, we left happy campers and with a new bottle to stock at home.

Appointments required for groups of eight or more. No food, just crackers. ENVIRONMENT Beautiful property. Silver Oak has a great reputation, so the vibe here is fun. The main room is fairly busy, but lots of bar space and a separate glass cellar for a quieter and more private experience. The actual wine cellars on the property are beautiful and new. WINE SOGOOD! The more vintage the better, so splurge!

One of the best for finding bold Cabernet Sauvignon wines in a beautiful modern stylish building. The wines are classic California Cab that have bold flavors and body that are not approachable for the non-Cab lovers. But, if you are a lover of Cabernet Sauvignon you’ll find this one of the top 3. Silver Oak wines pair well with steak dinners and trend to be on the high end scale as far as price.

The property of Silver Oak lives up to its reputable wine. Plenty of parking, beautiful tasting area, gift shop and a great case of wine bottles to drool over. Best part? They give you your tasting glass as a complimentary gift for home! There are many tastings to choose from on their website. Check the availability because one of the tastings we wanted to purchase was not ‘in season’ at the moment. We did do a general tasting which included both Alexander and Napa Valley wines. No appointment/reservation was required. They open early at 9am. We went right away in the morning and had the place to ourselves. This is a popular winery so it would be more convenient and best to come as soon as they open the doors. This allows you to visit other wineries that do not open until 10 or 10:30am. There no seats to sit inside so if you have issues standing you may need to ask for a chair. My favorite is the Napa Cab, which of course is the most expensive. Smooth, creamy, and rich to the taste.

I had a day to spend in Napa and I’ve always been a huge Silver Oak fan so when I was able to book a Wine and Food pairing at their Napa location it was a great opportunity to visit their vineyard, have some of their great wine matched with food prepared by their onsite chef Dominic. Since it was a weekday(Wednesday) the wine and food pairing was just myself and a couple from Wisconsin. We had a great guide for this(I think her name was Natalie) who sat with us in an upstairs room as we were presented with two Twomey and two Silver Oak varieties to match with a seasonal menu prepared by their resident chef. Since it was such a small group, we were able to chat informally about the history of Silver Oak, the founders, the running of the vineyard, the differences between the Alexander Valley and Napa Valley brands, and on and on. it was a very informative, casual, enjoyable experience. The food was amazing… first off a Pork Tenderloin thinly sliced with a wonder sauce that paired very well with the Twomey Pinot Noir. Our guide had us taste the wine, have a bite of the dish, then go back to the wine to notice the difference. The second dish was a lamb tartare which surprisingly wasn’t heavy on the lamb flavor. It was actually very clean tasting, served on a crostini with a dijon sauce and matched with a Twomey Merlot. The third course was a mushroom pasta in a small ramekin, earthy, rich, buttery that was balanced nicely with their Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet. The last tasting was a goat gouda cheese with the Silver Oak Napa Valley Cab. Another great pairing of this salty, tangy hard cheese with the fullness of the Cab. Overall it was an excellent experience, I’d recommend it to anyone who has the time and would like to sit, chat with other wine lovers and learn a little about Silver Oak!

Pretty perfect. The wine is, of course, amazing. The tasting room is gorgeous. The pressure to join a wine club is nil(they don’t have one because they sell every drop they make every time they make a drop) and you leave with a very nice logoed Silver Oak wine glass to keep. All this for $ 25 which by present day Napa standards is like having them pay YOU to taste. You get three pours which I would characterize as «heavy» pours. Cabernet heaven!

The Cabs are great here! The tasting fee is decent considering the other wineries charge way more. The space is very open and spacious and the employees are great! You don’t need a reservation to have a good time here!

I went to the opening for the Cabernet Sauvignon in 2011 and it was awesome. They had several different wines to try and the food was good. That year’s wine was simply wonderful. This year [2015] was a bit of a let down. They gave out a glass with one of their Alexander Valley whites at the door, and then gave out tickets to taste the Cabernet. It is good, but not great, and so not what I’d come to expect from them. They did have a nice selection of complimentary food to taste this year.

Stopped here while doing the Napa bike tours. They charged us $ 25 for 3 flights of cabs plus a glass with their logo to go! I liked the 2nd and 3rd glass. There is no seating inside. We walked up to the bar and were greeted by very friendly employees. We were served our first glass and we made our way out to the grass area(not much shade and only benches for seating). We sat on the grass which was nice and relaxing. I noticed there was a few linty looking things floating on my wine before I took my first sip(I’m assuming it’s just debris carried by the wind as it was a windy day). I went back in and requested for a new glass and the man behind the bar was very nice and said, «thank you for letting me know… anything you find on the wine will change the taste so, thank you» I responded with, «nooo thank you!» Overall, this place has great cabs and provides a nice pit stop for wine tasting!

This was our first stop in Napa, recommended by a friend who had visited before. I will say, the wine was phenomenal, but the service was seriously lacking. Since it was our first vineyard in Napa, we really didn’t know what to expect, but after visiting a few more, we quickly realized that we really missed out on our tasting at Silver Oak. The pours were plentiful, but after each pour, we felt like the employee would just stand there staring at us, waiting for us to finish. As a result, we felt inclined to quickly drink the wine just to fill the gaps in silence. It would have been a good opportunity to tell us more about the wines, the vineyard, or just ask us where we were from. But I will reiterate, the wines were great. While you only tasted three(all cabs), you were given a large amount, plus a souvenir glass. Reservations were not required either. The grounds were beautiful. Like I said, my low review really comes down to the service we received. It may have just been that it was early in the morning(around 10am) and she just wasn’t into it yet, but I could easily tell the other couple in the tasting room was having a much better time with the man helping them.

I am in love! First time visiting Napa and thankfully we had local friends who knew we were Cabernet people. The tasting was $ 25/person for 3 reds. The Alexander Valley Cab was by far the best Cab I have ever tasted. Never did I think it was a no brainier to take home a $ 70 bottle of wine. The grounds are gorgeous and the stuff is very kind and knowledgeable. 100% recommended if you are a Cab fan! *We also had our 7 week son with us in his stroller and they were very very accommodating!

We came as a group of 4 for some wine tasting. We tasted 3 wines for $ 20. During the tasting, our server offered to take our group and a few other people on a mini tour. We weren’t expecting a tour but we decided to go. It was cool to see the stainless steel tanks and the oak barrels. Our server was super friendly and was very generous with the pours. We all left happy and with a bottle of their 2009 cab. No reservations required, and they only make cabs. Plus, you get to keep the glass.

I love Silver Oak’s wines but visiting the winery can be overwhelming. I’ve been here several times and I’ve only been able to catch this winery when it’s quiet once. When it gets busy you can get ignored. I’ve had times when I’ve tried to buy bottles or pay for my tasting and it took FOREVER. The staff can be unhelpful and friendly when it gets busy. I would give the winery 3 stars(which sucks because I love their wines). Luckily, the last time we went, I was helped by a very nice tour guide. Her tour had some open spots so she allowed us to join. This was one of the shorter tours in Napa Valley. The tour guide was extremely nice, down to earth and accommodating. She also helped me when I bought some bottles of wine so I didn’t have to deal with the wait.
