Not that fast depending on what time of day you go. I like the«Lean Machine»… The kids also like the kids menu items, bonus for them it comes with a cookie. I’ve never had an issue with the customer service… There’s a check in tablet at the register, you check in and it tracks, every so often you get a discount. They send promotions via text when you start the program.

Inexpensive and delicious place to eat any meal of the day. Lots cheaper than I expected.

I was happy to see they’re serving Beyond Meat(a vegan mock chicken) in place of chicken in any meal. I was shocked to find, though, that I paid $ 5 plus for the teeniest little sandwich ever. The slaw supposed to be on it was a couple of slivers of carrots with no flavor. The teeny sandwich sat on a humongous plate, all alone and left me hungry. And there were 2 strips of Beyond Meat«chicken» on a giant bare, white, dried out, tasteless hamburger bun. So you get the idea. Never again for me!

I have not been to a tropical smoothie in about 10 years. For some reason, I got a craving for tropical smoothie today. I usually avoid this place because it is a total trickster of a calorie bomb, and not usually decadent enough for me to consider worth while. What can I say? The heart wants what the heart wants. So, just as if it were 10 years ago, I ordered a sunny day smoothie, and a totally turkey wrap. Absolutely nothing has changed. It was delicious, and now I hope I can go another 10 years without ever having one again. Nice location. Easy to find. Great chain.

Yummy spot for lunch that I frequent. Perfect for the summer days when you need something fresh and light. I’ve ordered the blueberry acai smoothie and also the kiwi quencher and both were delicious. The kiwi quencher is pretty sweet, but still delicious as it’s mixed with yogurt making it extra creamy. For a lunch entrée, the serve sandwiches, pitas and wraps. Today I ordered the fish tacos which I enjoyed with a side of chips and a kiwi smoothie. I was still a little hungry after I left to be honest, but I suppose I will survive. On other days, I’ve ordered the chicken ceasar wrap or the roast beef sandwich and was filled, especially with the smoothie on the side. Def will become a regular due to the proximity to work and the fast/fresh food.

I’m a fan of Tropical Smoothie in general, and this location is no exception. The staff were super friendly, efficient and provide quick service. The establishment was bright and clean. The food and smoothies are pretty tasty. I have some favorites that I tend to stick to: Chicken Ceasar Salad and the Blimey Limey(sub Splenda). The chicken isn’t the fake-tasting variety like at fast food restaurants. Both are filling and enjoyable without leaving you feeling bloated or overly full. During this visit I decided to branch out and try the Wasabi Ceasar Roast Beef toasted sandwich. It’s roast beef deli meat, pepper jack cheese, romaine lettuce & a wasabi caesar dressing on a toasted ciabatta. The wasabi caesar dressing gives it an extra kick. Overall it was OK, but I wouldn’t put it in my solid rotation. I also like the fact that the smoothies from TS can last you for hours(if you like to sip rather than headache-inducing chugging) without melting! Definitely a treat that lasts for hour for me.

I loveeee tropical smoothie. I usually order the lean machine made with Splenda. However, this particular location is horribly slow. It’s mind blowingly slow actually. It’s strange how long it takes them to assemble a smoothie considering how dead it is there as well. The employees seem nice enough, and I have no complaints about the quality of the food either.(Keep in mind I order the same thing every time). It’s really close to where I live, but I find myself avoiding going there bc I am not usually in the mood to wait 10 minutes for a smoothie.

I love the smoothies and sandwiches. They are always fast about making it. Great customer service. Great place to come to after ultimate frisbee with a huge group of friends. This place kinda reminds me of Jamba Juice but I think its way better. The sandwiches are what really make this place delicious.

I go to this Tropical Smoothie so much, the staff knows me. Some days it’s empty, some days it’s packed. I’m not a big fan of their food, but I think their smoothies are good. However, they are inconsistent with their smoothies. Having tried most of the smoothies on the menu, I’ve settled with a «usual» and order that every time I go, but it doesn’t taste the same every time. The change in taste is very slight, but hey, at least that means they’re making it from scratch every time, right?

Get the Peaches ‘n’ Silk smoothie. It is awesome. But I wonder if they go a little heavy handed on the sweetner. I have had both the Peaches n’ Silk smoothie as well as the Jetty Punch. Now they are awesome. Nice and smooth, thick, seemingly healthy. But really sweet. I did not know that I could adjust the sweetness in my smoothie until the manager responded to me in another forum and told me so. This is it: adjusting the sweetness. My ticket to the perfect smoothie(other than my own). For now, they get three stars. They are A-OK.

This was my first time here and the place was empty. As I stared at the menu I was greeted with silence as the employee waited for a second and immediately went in to the back. When I was ready to order he came out again and greeted me with more silence… awesome. I ordered the Island Green and it seemed to take a while to make; I would hate to see what it’s like when the place has people in it. When I was handed the smoothie it was light orange color and I was thinking to myself«the Island Green is green… right?» At this point I didn’t care because I didn’t feel like waiting for another smoothie. The smoothie didn’t even taste good because I HATE peaches. I checked the receipt and read Peaches n’ Silk… How does that sound anything like Island Green??? Maybe if they had any decent customer service they would have repeated my order back to me. I had about two sips of the smoothie and in to the trash it went… I won’t be coming back.

I would give a 1.5 if I could but can’t. I started working in this shopping center 2 years ago(went from IT to retail, and in my 40s). I started out going here and loved it. Then, when I started to vear off the menu from the ceaser wrap, it all went down hill. I did have a turkey/cranberry salad sandwich there ONCE that was amazing(or i was just so starving anything was good). Today I went in, asked about a an item pictured on their menu(wasabi/roastbeef). I said«nah, nevermind I will pass on wasabi, and just get the beachside bbq wrap» She did not understand me when I said no to the wasabi/beef sandwich, so I was charged twice. Then she voided that and rang a new order up, that she screwed up, voided that and then rang another up. By then I was in a hurry to get out because I left my store unattended. I came back in, waited, picked up the order and left. ITWASTHEDAMNWASABISANDWICHDAMMIT. It sucked too. The meat was hard and chewy on the outside inch of meat. I didnt eat most of it. I don’t have any problems with ethnicity, but hell, if you can’t understand orders or someone saying«nah, ill pass on that» with hand gestures and face expressions you should not be a cashier.

I have never had a bad experience here. The smoothies are one size(except for the kids size) i think they say Medium… there is a VARIETY of different types of smoothies… even ones with extra protein if your into that sort of thing. I have tried the Asian Chicken wrap– it wasnt anything to brag about but it wasnt bad either. Its a nice, cool, casual place to go on a hot summer day. I would say the service lacks sometimes especially if there is a line. But overall, I wish I could get to this place more often for a thick, yummy smoothie thats better than Fruity Tooty or whatever at the mall, yuck.

I was first introduced to this chain down in Richmond near VCU and I’m glad that there is one close by here in Northern VA. I always opt for the«Mango Magic» smoothie, it’s one of my personal favorites. It’s also really great that you can add in all kinds of vitamins and boosts into the smoothie. A great treat during the summer. I haven’t really tried anything other than the smoothies on the menu, but it all looks good and healthy. I have tried other smoothie places like Robecks and personally, the taste doesn’t compare.

Perfect day for a smoothie! Really loved my Pina Colada smoothie in this tropical themed place. Didn’t so much love that they couldn’t wait until after closing to make loud noises/mount a TV. That kinda became an annoyance when I was trying to catch up with some friends. But service was friendly and quick, so I forgive ‘em. I noticed a lot of people weren’t just there for smoothies but sandwiches too, so I will definitely be coming back to see what they’re all about. On another note: I think this is a pretty good place for people watching with a friend… definitely saw/heard some interesting people this evening.

I’ve been to this place 3 times, and each time the service has been worse. The smoothies are oversweet and taste like they have been coated with cheap protein powder. Don’t bring kids here either… it takes 15 – 20 minutes to get a smoothie that can be made in a jiffy. Will never go here again.

3.5 Stars Smoothie joints are a craze in Chicago. Naturally, I fell for it. Jamba Juice and Robeks smoothies are made from real fruit and other fresh ingredients, so they seem healthy. People forget that some of the smoothies have a ridonkulous amount of sugar.(I don’t consume much sugar in the first place, so I don’t care much.) Anyway, I was glad to find a smoothie café in my hometown of Vienna. Tropical Smoothie just opened recently, so even my chain foodie sister hasn’t tried it yet. There is a large selection of smoothies(more so than other smoothie cafes) and yes, they even serve food. There are nearly 20 low-fat smoothie options, 6 «dessert» smoothies, and more. This may not be an impressive feature since smoothies are easily customizable, but it quickens the decision(«Can I have a smoothie with bananas, pineapples… oh, how about I just get Island Fever?»). The serving size for a regular smoothie is giNORmous too. I’m poor with guesstimation, but maybe 2 cups? Not bad for around $ 5. As for the food, their vegetarian options are very, very limited. One veggie wrap, one veggie sandwich, and so forth. How disappointing. I’m sure high schoolers will soon discover Tropical Smoothie Café and raid it like they do with the Starbucks and the McDonald’s across the street from Madison HS(Go Warhawks!).

For a health food place, it’s not especially vegetarian-friendly. They have a veggie wrap that is halfway decent, and a hummus-based sandwich that I haven’t tried. That’s about it. But the veggie wrap, like I said, is not bad at all. It always comes out nice and warm and it’s definitely tasty. Unfortunately it doesn’t count as a sandwich, so if you want a combo meal, you have to get the hummus sandwich. The smoothies are all quite decent. The dessert ones are the best but they can be upwards of 600 calories! The Splenda smoothies are pretty good; if you’re concerned about nutrition, check their website before you go.(Or check it while you’re there; their free wifi is quite reliable.) I rated it «good for kids» because they have both food and smoothie menus for kids, and rated it $$ because a smoothie and wrap are pretty expensive. I’ll be going back soon to try that hummus sandwich!
