We popped in on a whim to support the local economy. We were pleasantly surprised by the service and quality of food. More memorable than anything in Park City. It’s seems like they try to make it worth trip and it certainly is. It has a diverse menu and accommodates special diet requests.

Super place, super nice people! What a great little place with tons of character. We went for breakfast that was a great taste of fresh local diner-majic. The were switching over for lunch and the plates that came out looked equally amazing. Highly recommend, great food, great nostalgia!

Fantastic place! Clean inside, friendly staff, great menu and the food was amazing. Every visit to Park City and Oakley will now include a trip to Rhode Island Diner.

Food: Excellent for a diner. Many items are made in-house. Service: Excellent. As friendly as it gets! Value: Excellent. Atmosphere: Experience the past! It’s a living history piece: re-furbished 1939 diner car from New Jersey.

Great atmosphere and decent food. My parents have a cabin roughly 10 miles up Weeber Canyon Road. I’ve driven by this diner many times and just stop by recently for my first time. Our waitress was incredibly helpful and friendly. The menu has nice variety. And the place was pretty clean and comfortable. If you don’t like country music then you should be sure to pay for some of the other music you like on the table side jukebox I ordered the meatloaf sandwich. It was moist and had good flavor. And I loved the french fries. They were very tasty. For dessert I ordered the sea salt caramel ice cream and was blown away! It was amazing! This probably isn’t one of those joints that I would drive out of my way to go to. But, after a long weekend of four wheeling or snowmobiling, it’s a convenient stop for some decent food on the way home.

This place was kind of a joke. Almost everything is gluten free. They really should have just said these two items have gluten the rest is gluten free. Totally a trendy place that you have to wait a long time for your food and it is over priced. I get the whole cooked fresh thing but come on 45 minutes? Our bill was over $ 45 including tip. Was the service great? sure. We’re the people nice? Yes. Was the food worth the wait? Debatable. The hubbies grilled ham and dill havarti cheese was awesome. My hummus wrap left you wanting more! It was basically filled with sprouts and that is about it. The salad dressing was so not good. I tried 3 different kind and just ate it without salad dressing. The baked kids macaroni cheese was good but not $ 7 good and the kids chicken fingers were over cooked and really brown. No kid wants to eat burnt chicken fingers. The atmosphere was fun. We were with a big group of friends. Would we go back? No. We wanted diner food not yuppie gluten free.

Stopped at the Road Island Diner in Oakley, UT on our way home. We enjoyed french fries, banana split, and raspberry shakes. Steve was a very nice and joked with us while we waited. Mataya served us she was great and made sure we all enjoyed our food. The fries are hand cut and cooked just right. The ice cream, and shakes hit the spot. Fun place to eat. The reason for four stars is the food vs value is a little expensive.

a miracle in rural Utah. mind was blown! amazing atmosphere — the real thing. my food was surprisingly good quality and well made — better than most of the east coast diners that this place reminds me of. very cool juke box at each table, i ran out of time before running out of selections… back on the road, but i will go well out of my way to come back!

I went here with the wife on a Sunday drive. A 74 year old diners got me beat. Great selection of music on the jukebox at each table. I got the prime rib sandwich, it’s Sunday dinner ain’t it, and she got Mac n cheese. Get the salad instead of the fries. They were out of pie so we’ll have to go back.

The food was decent, the bacon alone earned the extra star. But, I’ll never be back! The wait to be seated was long(it was a holiday weekend) the wait for our food even longer! When it did arrive it was dropped off quickly and no one seemed to notice that they forgot both the butter and syrup for our pancakes! I had to get up and go find some myself. I understand a busy weekend but there was no friendly service or apologies to make up for it. The two waitresses were both super unfriendly. I felt bad for the owner who was trying to make up for it. But, just a horrible experience all around. And to top it off the food was ridiculously overpriced!

Meh at best. The food was completely sub-par. We went on Labor Day weekend and they may have been understaffed but it wasn’t the initial wait that was the frustration. We had three different people wait on us. First, got the drinks. Second took the order. Third brought it out. Not one of them came back to check in once. We had to go to the counter for butter and syrup on an order of mostly pancakes. Needless to say, service is about 1 star. Location and atmosphere gets it 3 – 4 stars. Food was a solid 1 – 2 stars. The omelette was a mixture of grey and toasted brown. The worst appearance I could imagine for an omelette. It was so so in taste too. But the cost was $ 12 on a very limited menu. All of the 5 pancakes we had were crunchy and over cooked. The top half separated from the bottom half. $ 8 for 3. Not worth it. Even after 20 minute wait, food came out like warm. And that was after the brunch rush. I love Oakley and want to like this Diner but they have let me down too many times at this point. Maybe I’ll forget this experience in a year but probably not.

RAWCHICKENINKIDSMEAL I brought my daughter and her friend here over the weekend. My daughter’s friend ordered the chicken tenders from the kids meal menu. When she bit into one, she told me that something was wrong. Upon inspection, I was totally disturbed to find that it was COMPLETELYRAW inside– not just pink, but UNCOOKED. We were not offered any kind of a refund or discount on our meal. Just a smile and a «whoops!» Also, There is no air conditioning, the juke boxes at the tables don’t work, the fries are dry and mealy, and to top it all off, the food is not cheap. Drive by and take a photo from the outside if you must, but do not eat here!

I love the atmosphere. Not good for more than four people though. The service was not great. The girl messed up our order the guy who I think was the owner argued with me that we didn’t order what we said we did. Then I think we were overcharged. THe food was mediocre I could cook better Mac and cheese and the portions so small. My side salad was probably the size of a teacup, Next while we were sitting after finishing our meal and chatting we were asked to leave!!! The guy said they needed the tables but half the restaurant was empty! He just didn’t want to open the other half and the place is sooooo small that i was just shocked at how rude this was!!! I’d never go back even if I was paid to.

The building gets 4 stars, but over all this place was a disappointment. From the service to the food. The service was just ok the girl waiting on us checked on us only once while we waited over 30 minutes, didn’t ask if we needed more drinks. Then finally the good came out and definitely not worth the price the food was just decent but honestly not good! Denny’s! you could get better food at Denny’s. And better service. I am glad I checked it out but I will not go back. Bummer!

Staff at our hotel told us sbout this fun diner snd I’m so glad that she did. It’s a blast from the past! We were greeted immediately and a very friendly and energetic waitress, Connie, waited on us. I almost got a hamburger, but Connie steered me to a Reuben or the prime rib sandwich… so I go one and my husband got the other. I also traded out French fries for their fabulous macaroni and cheese for $ 2.50 extra(well worth every penny). The owner checked on us to make sure everything was good-and it was! Fresh air coming through the windows made it feel like we were in the patio-so pleasant! Don’t miss this little jewel if you are in the Park City area!

We stopped here on a whim just to grab a couple milkshakes. We ended up deciding to share a meal and a shake. We were pleased with the meal, stuffed shells that were the special. It was slightly overpriced, but tasted great. The owner was there and heard we were sharing; she split our salad onto two plates. We thought that was very nice. Then we had our shared milkshake. It was delicious! They brought us two straws and stopped by to make sure there was enough caramel. We will stop by again for sure! The service was great and they really made you feel welcome.

Perfect experience all the way around. Start out with the nostalgia of eating in a fully restored dining car from 1937 complete with table-side juke boxes featuring Benny Goodman and the Beatles. Follow that up with prompt and friendly service from an expert staff that works together flawlessly. And I haven’t even reached the best part yet: the food! Homemade silky smooth raspberry ice cream, fresh juicy burgers, and other baked delights made fresh daily on the premises. Yes, it is diner food, but diner food done right. Only open Thursday though Sunday and a bit of a drive off the beaten path, but well worth the effort. Definitely check it out.

Disappointed, we were pretty excited to try the place after seeing how cool it was from the outside. Its an authentic diner and seeing the restoration book was pretty neat. Sadly the food wasn’t so good. We ordered 2 burgers and I got a pizza burger thinking it would e something different. The regular burgers were frozen cheap Sisco burgers, that weren’t even seasoned well. We even asked them and after hesitating he told us indeed they were frozen burgers. They told us that’s what people wanted! Wow they must be confused. The pizza burger I received was literally dripping grease and bland. It was such a shame, I sincerely hope they figure it out because they seemed like good folks. Just have to remember it starts with good food to put out good food.

Whatever you’ve read about the Road Island Diner before March 2014 — IGNORE! CROSS it out. DELETE! Why? It no longer applies. There are new owners who are actually two of Summit County’s favored caterers. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING prior to that date pertains to Steve and Ginny’s culinary acumen. If Unilocal could start review for the Road Island Diner as of March 2014, you’d only see top stars! Although they’ve had a «soft» opening, Road Island Diner is indeed open for business — with a great new menu, curtesy of Kumbaya(and now Road Island Diner) owners, And, what’s more, on a Friday night in little Oakley, this place was PACKED! Young dudes in the corner taking selfless. Moms and dads pleased that their pockets weren’t pilfered by high prices. Multi-generational families. Retirees recalling days of youth. The locals KNOW that the new owners deliver quality and a reasonable price. And that’s what you need to keep a restaurant going — quality. Add to that, an amazing«basement» space that is now the«speakeasy» of the area. Ryan Montbleau christened this underground music room with an amazing acoustic set to a select crowd of «by invitation only» fans. They’ve got something here, people. We are not talking about going to a show where the point of being an attendee is to socialize. This is a «listening room» for true music lovers and fans. WIll people drive that far to see a musician? YES! And as evidence, tickets were sold-out to invitees within hours. Fulfill a need. Do it well. Exceed expectations. Serve excellent food at a reasonable(locals) price. Great unique atmosphere. I would say that Road Island DIner is now a DESTINATION for multiple reasons: 1. great food 2. great unique atmosphere 3. great music Get in your car and make this your Sunday drive destination. But skip Mon-Wed as they are currently open only a few days a week.
