TMI Storytelling

This has become my favorite Thursday night out! It’s only once a month but I look forward to every show. First of all, the MC Gina Gold, is a comedy queen and a natural on stage. She is unique, intriguing, unpretentious and simply hilarious. She is generous and shameless in her often self-​depricating wild stories. There are regular performers, like this one guy Sir Remy omg he’s nuts. Also a musical ‘lounge act’ that covers hip-​hop hits delivered on a platter of retro Vegas camp. But always someone and something bold and new each time. Everyone is super cool and the show attracts an awesome VERY diverse crowd. Nothing weird or stuck up. Just freaking awesome entertainment. Actually the dildo raffle could be in the weird category but the crowd loves it. people clamor to have their numbers called. Easy to get to, easy parking, easy budget$, good food and drinks at this location. Highly recommend!

TMI Storytelling is good fun!
I often don’t like «comedy» because its frequently based on making fun of people (sexist, racist, homophobic, and on and on). TMI is great because the focus is on the story, not humor. Don’t get me wrong, there’s plenty of humor at TMI but there’s a rawness that pervades. The humor is much deeper. The shows are great opportunities to stare and laugh at life!
OH, and Gina, the hostess… she’s hella funny and honest.
I can’t wait to check out the new location which I think is probably awesome!

I like that this is a casual and fun scene. The storytellers are just people too, not professional comedians or actors. So when you hear the deepest of their fears or loves or embarrassments, you get it!
It’s a diverse crowd, with lots of regulars that are welcoming to anyone and everyone. Thanks, Gina, for putting this together.

I’ve been to TMI 5 of the last 6 months and it has rocked my world every time. Gina Gold, the emcee and director of the show, is funny and makes everyone comfortable. She shares funny and intimate stories from her life and she seems to know the coolest local (and not local) comedians/​story tellers to have on TMI.
The price is right (I think it’s $ 12) and there’s food and alcohol. The crowd is diverse and super friendly. Last month I was surprised to run into a few people I knew and we all said TMI is our favorite regular event. I love that it’s in the East Bay (I heard it’s moving from Berkeley to Oakland soon – hope that rumor is true!) – it feels like a really organic East Bay gem – raw, honest, a little gritty, and funny as hell.

Honest. Raw. And very FUNNY! A great way to break up your week day and hang out with some amazing talent!

Sure, the storytellers are great, but the real show is between stories! From the flute player and giveaways (from organic mushrooms to sex toys), to the nutty genius of the host, it really was like being at the craziest family dinner EVER. Well worth my Thursday evening!

Love it, Love it, Can’t get enough of it! Gina Gold is brilliant and the show is always thoroughly entertaining. There is a diverse group of storytellers who never fail to bring it!!!

The shows are hilarious. Ms Gina Gold the brown Carol Burnette will have you laughing till your side hurt. You will see some incredible talents hand picked by Ms Gold. It’s a must see event. TMI yayyyyyy!

The most obvious reason this show fills up is that the host is really funny and likable. She also has a knack for choosing good storytellers. Every month I’m impressed by the talent. At spoken word events I’m often bored and my mind wanders, but this show is an exception.

TMI Storytelling is about as real as it gets when it comes to telling stories. Gina’s topics are genuine however told with humor and love. The genius is also in all the artists performing in the show with whom Gina Gold shares the stage. A must see!
