This market has everything you need from chinatown markets without the chaos of going downtown. They have Thai curry paste which makes restaurant quality curry at a fraction of the price you pay in «international» sections at whole foods, Thai iced tea in a can(like a soda version of the kind you get at restaurants), loose Thai tea to make your own Thai iced tea at home, and the other day I found hello kitty seaweed snacks. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful despite any language barrier. The customers are pretty great too.

Usually come here only for their meat because it has more flavor than the other Asian supermarkets I go to. However, I’ve been slowly starting to dislike a few of the butchers in the back. They tend to make me feel uncomfortable if I’m not buying a variety of meat or a certain pound of meat. So when they have their back turned I can tell that they like to talk a lot of smack. Be careful of the obnoxious one who has jet black hair and is chubby and seem younger than the rest that has a really big mouth that’s always gossiping like some old Asian women would. He’s pretty freaken cocky. If I spoke viet or Chinese I would’ve cussed him out. Nonetheless this is just like you’re typical grimey Asian store that is stocked with produce, meat, and etc. I normally prefer going to sun hop fat right across the street from lee’s sandwich. Feels more cleaner, and the butchers over there are more friendlier.

They’ve got some fresh groceries here compared to other stores in the area. I love the fruits and vegetables, especially the fruits outside the stores. However, they are very stingy and don’t allow people to exchange fruits if they’re already cased up. The meats are always in stock and they actively clean their cases. This Is also the only store in the area that has frozen coconut juice in a bag– soooo much better than the ones in a plastic container.

A good small asian market. Easy shopping, fresh meat counter, decent selection of produce. Seafood, some alive in tanks. I usually go to Lucky’s, next door, for that, especially live crab, shrimp, lobster. They take credit cards, have some housewares and a good selection of frozen items. Occasionally, they throw in a free bonus item as a surprise. Friendly staff. Easy parking.

Lots of fresh produce and all the asian snacks you would want. I like to sometimes purchase the premade food plates that they have. The place is a little on the dirty side but not too extreme to be a health hazard.

They are stocked with fresh produce and other asian goodies most of the time. They also have an assortment of beef, chicken, pork, and fish balls, which is a plus to me for those hot pot nights. Another thing they carry that I crave for thats hard to find is coconut nectar! Some items are a bit more in price, but it saves me the trip of driving all the way out to a 99 ranch. Plenty of street parking when the lot is full.

They have everything you will find at a Asian Supermarket. Fresh meat and produce, live fish, crab, shrimp. They have a small selections of Asian snacks, I love snacks like pocky sticks, panda cookies and etc. So minus 1 star for having a small selections of snacks. Finding street parking can be difficult so they have a private lot for customers use.

I rely on this place for many things. They are two blocks away and a pretty sweet market. You can get a flat of eggs for 3.99, that lasts a very long time. I love the sesame mung bean pastries more than I probably should. I only speak English, but the staff is nice and helpful, and I appreciate being able to get produce whenever I want. They also have a really large variety of tofu’s, that are helpful to my vegetarian needs. It is what it is, but I shop here more than a luckys or safeway anyday.

Pretty decent selection of fresh fruit and vegetables. Groceries are not set up in the most logical of ways. Relatively clean. In this part of town, Vietnamese is much more commonly used than Cantonese so when I was at the butcher I followed up my Cantonese with some English. Apparently, «Boon bong/half pound» is Vietnamese for«just a smidge under a pound.» I was looking for some eggs, but I could only find big flats. I found small packages as I was leaving but it was not refrigerated, so I that’s a no on the eggs.

I love this place and most of my groceries come from this place. I have few complaints and I’m happy that they have my favorite candy in stock, which is hidden in the pastry aisle in a corner no one but I, bother to look for it. My main issue is… they don’t carry my favorite banana Asian tamale. I have to hike down to Cam Huong to get it. but I digress, my mom and the owner are relatives. Somehow… so she chats it up with most of the employees. The one time I decided to buy choco-pies, there were WORMS and other icky crawly things swarming out of all the boxes. That definitely put me off. but I still keep coming back. Oh and I see a lot of non Asians trying to get service at the fish and meat counters. So here’s some advice. They don’t serve you unless you shout for them. So don’t get peeved when you’ve been standing there waiting patiently for them to help you and someone comes along, shouts and they get served before you. I also think they have some mob dealings. I saw a guy walk in, take all the fish and threaten the fish counter… about a 24 hour deadline. It’s nothing special from the other supermarkets in ESO.

The sign says«American Mexican Chinese Vietnamese Cambodian Lao Thai Filipino». This is right next to Lucky Seafood Market. It’s pretty large and has a good selection of items. I found frozen packages of just squid tenticles for $ 2.99, for those of you that love tenticles. I also got a big bag of shredded carrots and another big bag of shredded green papaya for $ 1.50 ea. I am going to make my own green papaya salad! I’ve always wanted to do this but didn’t want to bother with the mandoline.

despite a new building, a new bakery etc, sun hop fat has not cut into the success of this super. it is very busy on weekends. catering mostly to vietnamese, laotian, cambodias, and chinese, this store offers asian fresh produce, fresh seafood, canned and frozen products from local and asian sources.
