The owner Kingsley Moore spent about an hour passionately explaining to us the various weaving techniques and showing us every bit of beautiful fabric he had in his wonderful shop. We ended up leaving with two amazing old saddle blankets to hang on the wall at home — check the photos and stop by the store for an exiting glimpse into a world of woven wonders.

I happen to love this place. I enjoy talking to Kingsley and I have learned a lot from him about antiques and especially a series of limited edition linoleum block flower prints I purchased from him over a period of time. I got an amazing antique Navajo bracelet at a great price from him some years ago that I still get compliments on all the time. I’ve also had him do restoration work on some antiques of mine and he has done beautiful work at very reasonable prices. I highly recommend Talisman Antiques.

I had walked by this shop several times, but this particular day Kingsley(the owner) was outside tending to a newly acquired piece of furniture in need of a little TLC. His gentle demeanor and genuine love for fine craftmanship reeled me in. I couldn’t resist buying a few of the pieces, because I had never seen anything like them and I was worried that I might not again. A Rockridge gem!

The estate jewelry selection is small and tends towards the native american and mid-century designy pieces. The owners real strong point is antique textiles; he has some gorgeous asian textiles and drool-worthy quilts and will happily lecture on about them as long as you can stand it. Fun just for looking and education, even if you’re not looking to buy.
