i have been attending for over a year now and really look forward to the monthly assemblies! I always learn something new! Hopefully we will have them more frequently some day!

The three tenets of Sunday Assembly are«Live better. Help often. Wonder more.» I like them because they’re so accessible and open to interpretation. I love that Sunday Assembly isn’t preachy. It doesn’t tell you how exactly to live your life; it offers some examples of how others are living theirs, and it’s a community celebration of what makes the world such a cool place to be in. My favorite part: The singing. There’s just something dynamic and special about a good sing-along. The songs go along with the theme of the month, so they’re both fun and a way to reflect on the topic we’re exploring. Sometimes there’s even dancing. My second-favorite part: The«Doing Our Best» segment. A new person or group speaks each month about how they’re trying to «live better, help often, and wonder more.» It’s short, sweet, and personal. I’ve learned a lot and felt encouraged and inspired by other community members’ stories. I also feel seen, supported, and included as a queer and trans person. I love being part of the community.

I’ve been attending and participating since the first meeting in January, 2014. We’ve had some absolutely stellar speakers. We also get to sing pop songs and mingle with people who are there for just the core ideas of Sunday Assembly: Live Better, Help Often, Wonder More. No religion, no politics. Very friendly. Plus there’s a potluck. What’s not to like?

Sunday Assembly is the best bits of church, without the religion. Sing pop songs, hear interesting speakers, eat good food(there is a pot luck after each assembly). And the price is right: it’s free! Come help us build a community! The people are great — welcoming all ages, colors, genders, and sexual orientations. Let’s build inclusion! Read-out-loud smoup opens our horizons to texts we might not otherwise encounter. And the discussion can be lively.
