Worker did not know what she was doing, made a crappy sandwich unlike other locations.

Rude staff and I bit into what felt like a rock or large peice of sand. Explains why this place was so dead on a lunch break.

Well, this is the last time I will ever be stepping foot into this Subway. I’ve been coming here over the last three months since its close to my workplace and the service has been your typical Subway service. Not glamorous, but you get your food and they make it in a timely manner. Today, however, was the first time I saw who I presume is the owner of that franchise at the register. This is where all the problems began. There were two other customers who were in front of me who bought sodas with their sandwiches. As I was being rung up they complained that the soda machine was out of certain flavors. He tells them to use another one. After some arguing he finally agrees to let them have the bottled version of the soda they wanted. After that delay he gets back to ringing me up, not before sneezing into his hands. He turns around to use the sink, running some water over it and begins to paper towel off. At this point I’m just shocked. The two women before begin to interject, pointing out that he just sneeze and didn’t use soap. He starts saying that he wasn’t finished, he hasn’t touched any of my food yet. Yeah, already began drying your hands, I bet you were going to do a second wash again with soap after. He sheepishly goes to the back to wash his hands again as they watched him, comes back to the front to finish ringing me up. Just to add to what has already happened I hand him a free cookie coupon I received from my last visit. He inspects in for a while, tells me that he’ll do me a favor and give it to me even though its not from his store, when in fact it was. Just another nail in the coffin.

Was I imagining things that when you would go to a Subway, you would consistently get a 5 star sandwich that tasted fresh? The $ 5 foot long is a joke… Geez. this place is gross. I won’t even eat inside. worse. is the subways, gosh. flavorless. almost bland. Come on you guys. you can do better than that? tuna. kind of ok 2 star max turkey… kind of ok 2 star meatball…flavorless … oh forget it. not even worth my time to review. ed note: I actually went back and ordered a tuna… it was a lot better today. Place looked cleaner but not sterling.(added a star)

Its Subway. I’m sure you’ve tasted this before. The owner of this Subway also owns the Subway inside BART at 20th and Broadway(yes, just 3 blocks away). In general, I’ve seen his worker use the gloves to prepare the food then throw away after they have handled money. This is good. Credit card transactions are easy. Speed of preparing the sandwiches are ok/average. I saw a sign for $ 5 subs if you buy 2 after 5pm. Call to confirm that they are still honoring this.

My first negative review. The server was incompetent, the food was far from fresh plus the coffee was awful! I will never mistake this as a viable option for breakfast again.

Subway is currently having an anytober footlong sub sale for $ 5. For subway, these means any of the 3 or 4 they are offering for $ 5(turkey breast, italian BMT& steak, chesse, and egg.) not any of the so-called premium subs. sampling: italian bmt and turkey breast(5) –meat had no taste, sammie just crunchy taste(lettuce) with the pepperono’s heat being tasted. crumbs: –service was meticulous, courteous, efficient. 4 stars –food taste: none, blame the cook since i ordered wrong all the time 3 stars –usually tell them to hold the vinegar, and the spices…

Just had the worst customer service ever at this location. This is a typical subway, good sandwiches, low prices. I work across the street so I go there often. The ladies that work there always seem rushed, today there were only two people on line. The lady who was helping me was rushing through my order. Why? I don’t know, no one was behind me. I paid with a $ 20 bill and she insisted I paid with a $ 10 bill. I had them open the register and re-calculate, she said her register account was ok, but refuse to let me see the print out. «Only Mgr can see that» at this point I was very unhappy. I asked to see the Mgr. He wasn’t there. So I told them to keep their sandwich and give me my money back. I walked out of there, $ 10 short, angry and not one apology from them. They even asked me why I didn’t want the sandwich as I was walking out. I WILLNEVERGOBACKTHERE. My company has an account with them for big luncheons, guess what got cancelled today? their account with us.

Love Subway, first time trying the Grand Ave location. The service was ok, but I was a bit distracted when I ordered my sandwich. I had ordered a Turkey, Bacon, Avocado sandwich and I realized after I got home that they forgot to put the Avocado on my sandwich. I know that I could have reminded the sandwich makers, looking back at it, but they should also remember when I tell them too. Parking is crappy here since its a main street. You might have to circle around or park across the street.

I would give it three stars but their hours are sporatic at best. It’s is posted as open on Saturdays until 5pm. But on more then on occasion I would arrive around 2−3pm and the doors would be locked and they would be cashing out. Not good business IMHO.

Subway is Subway wherever you go, which can be comforting and nice. I do love a good Subway club, with pickles, olives, mustard and s/p. Um. If I hadn’t just had a sandwich from Athenian I might walk on down to Subway again. Again, nice ladies that work there, never a huge line, and open weekends so I can walk from the Y straight to my sandwich.

Typical Subway I suppose. Nice ladies that work there. Like previous posters, cookies seem to never be fresh so don’t expect anything to change. I am not sure if all Subways do this now but you will have to pay tax if you want your sandwich toasted.(I know a few other subways that have no tax at all)

I live right across the street from this Subway, and I’m a frequent customer because it’s just so darn convenient. Now I always order the same sandwich — turkey breast on wheat, mustard no mayo, lettuce, tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers, and pickles. I personally think Subway makes a good, healthy sandwich, though in no way gourmet like next door’s Farley’s East. PROS: Easy on the wallet(Especially if you get the daily 6 inch special for only 2.99) Clean(including the fresh smelling bathroom) Topping bar is always full and fresh(I hate it when I drop into sandwich places and the shredded lettuce looks all brown and wilted) CONS: If you don’t like salt and pepper and/or oil and vinegar, you must speak up, otherwise that stuff gets added without asking(this has happened to me once and believe me, I learned my lesson right away) They do NOT have fresh baked cookies everyday(you can tell they’re old and gross with a quick glance) They do not have the daily specials posted. So you must ask in order to get the deal.

I went to get my $ 5 foot long sandwich, the oven roasted chicken breast, and my total was not $ 5, but rather $ 5.40. I was told that I was charged extra because the bread was toasted, but the description of the sandwich is OVENROASTED!!! I have ordered this same sandwich at other subways and been charged $ 5. This extra charge has annoyed me so much that the next time I want a sandwich, I will make the trek to the Subway at the 19th Street Bart station.

So, this is a new Subway, which I noticed while driving to work. It’s so new, that I’m the first to review it… yay! During law school my bf used to buy Subway sandwiches all of the time. I really wasn’t that big of a fan, but then I tried their meatball marinara and have been a fan since. That’s the only thing I really order from Subway: meatball marinara, toasted on wheat bread with only lettuce. I came here for lunch on Monday really excited that a Subway opened up really close to my office. As always, finding something really close and fast is top priority for me since I have billable hours and usually eat at my desk. The staff was friendly, but I felt they didn’t really understand what I wanted. When asked, «do you want cheese», I responded«swiss cheese», to which they said«extra cheese». No no no, not extra cheese, but swiss cheese. Well in the end they got it right. I think since they just opened they have to iron out the kinks of how to make a sandwich and ring up that person really quick instead of helping the next customer. I’ll prob go back when I crave meatballs.
