Most exciting new gallery in the Bay Area! Studio Quercus creates incredibly elaborate installation exhibitions that will knock your socks off! The staff is friendly and approachable and the curators are unafraid of ambitious risks. I have shown here several times and would recommend it to anyone including artists, collectors and the general public. I especially recommend the Halloween exhibition as it is the best I have ever seen!

I went to a recent opening here for Joy Broom’s «Waxed and Winged» collection. They seem to showcase really talented up and coming artists. The space is great, the work was divine – and actually pretty affordable. I’m looking forward to seeing more.

I have gone to Studio Quercus two times. The first time they had a bunch of old cartoons playing on a big projector. The second time I went they had transformed the space into a Victorian-era parlor. Walls were painted to look like Victorian, there were art projects that hung from the ceiling, and a bunch of smaller art pieces of all different mediums. All in all, the people who run the shows seem really nice and I highly recommend checking it out.

Edit: The paint by number show has been extended through March 25… Freshly-opened Studio Quercus curators Kyle and Susan currently have a most amazing show of paint by numbers — two huge warehouse walls covered floor to ceiling with all kinds of works grouped by theme from the 20th century plus a few pieces created for the show by local artists. They don’t have any kind of marketing presence yet but I’m told they’re generally open M-F 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., look for the big paint by numbers pair up on the roof. Bonus star for the cornucopia of layer cakes at the reception.
