Scott A Hoffinger, MD

I have been told by my peditrician who has no association with Dr. Hoffinger that he is THE ORTHOPEDIC MAN. Since I respect my peditrician’s opinion a lot (based on 9 solid years of taking care of my children) this means a lot to me.
And after almost 10 years of treating my son we (my husband and I) hold the same respect for Dr. Hoffinger. We have been completely happy/​satisfied with every visit we have ever had with him. I truly feel grateful to live in a place and have access to a doctor such as Dr. Hoffinger that can care for my son.
Right, after we started going to Dr. Hoffinger’s office (we saw one of his associates the first couple of times) we did go to Shriner’s for a second opinion. And they repeated what we had already been told by Dr. Hoffinger’s associate.
One of the things I really like about him is how he approaches my son. He talks to him and believes that what he thinks and wants matters. He is always welcoming to our whole family at each visit and takes the time to answer any and all questions we may have about our son’s orthopedic needs/​concerns.
There is a possibility of surgery for my son this next year and because of our experience with Dr. Hoffinger over the years we wouldn’t want anyone else to handle the surgery.

Our daughter was been born with her hip of socket. We were living in North Carolina at the time. We we’re miss lead that it went in to socket and there was nothing to worry about. After moving back to Ca I started asking again, we were then referred to Dr Hoffingers office. Our experience has been amazing. He has now done surgery on our daughter. That went great she is healing and happy. He is such a confident Dr we were so thankful that we had been missed diagnosed and that he was the one to perform surgery on her. We are moving out of state and will continue to come back and see Dr. Hoffinger. He is a truly amazing Dr. We love him an his staff. Everyone has been really warm and professional through this journey we have been on. We did read the other Unilocal comment after we saw him, I think that lady was having a bad day. Thankfully we didn’t listen to her comment. He has even referred us to a Surgeon in Washington to continue our daughters follow ups and another surgery. But we will continue to come back to see him, because we trust in him so much! Thank you Dr Hoffinger and staff for everything!

We’ve been seeing Dr. Hoffinger for many years and have never had a problem. He is personable, always up to speed on his patients’ statuses, and incredibly effective with his surgeries. Although sometimes it is hard to hear bad news about my children’s health, Dr. Hoffinger is always professional at delivering his prognoses (he tells it like it is!), which I find admirable in a doctor. With his recent move to Stanford, we have remained loyal because it is hard to find a doctor like him! Thank you Dr. Hoffinger. I wish you the best.

We saw Dr. Hoffinger for treatment of my son’s club foot. Dr. Hoffinger initially seemed to be very approachable, honest, and knowledgeable about how to treat my son. Though we trusted him, we chose to get a second opinion at the preeminent club foot clinic in Iowa to be sure we were covering all our bases. After getting a second opinion, Dr. Hoffinger refused to continuing treating my son, did not allow any other doctors in his practice to treat us, and even told the Children’s Hospital emergency room that they could not treat us. It’s a shame because we had trusted and respected Dr. Hoffinger and his work, we were merely interested in exploring more conservative treatment options as well.
