On a impulsive whim I decided to walk the trail of Sausal Creek. For quite some time I’ve heard rave reviews about how it’s natural breathtaking scenery is a must see. Being that today turned out to be a glorious day and the timing was right, I decided to set out on my own to explore. Being the nature buff that I am, I found the trail along the creek to be quite interesting. There I was lost in the ambiance of nature itself. Complete with the chirping sounds of various insects and birds. Surrounded by the lush greenery of various trees. The rhythmic lapping sound of the creek as the water flows through it’s course. This beautiful hideaway is a much see for it’s snake like trails offers a different view at every turn. Strike out on your own or bring the fam or some friends, no one will be disappointed.

This gorgeous creek runs right by my house and I love to hear the rushing water after it’s been raining heavily. And after all of the recent rain, it’s seriously gushing like a river down there. It’s a fun spot to take a short hike and pretend that you’re on some faraway nature retreat.(You can enter a trail in the Glenview district off El Centro.) Your hike ends and suddenly you’re back to city life. Places like this are one of the reasons I love living in the bay area. Oh, make sure to hit the bathroom before you head out. That rushing water, man…

This creek runs right through Oakland, from the Hills all the way down to the Bay. In the bit near the Glenview District people take their kids and their dogs and it’s a beautiful bit of a nature in a highly urbanized area. Formerly just another wonderful Oakland secret, but now you know! So go!
