Love their coffee, both french press and pourover. They don’t have any cappucino drinks(yet?) and there are only a small number of food items so far. The scones they serve are the best! The space is bright and airy with lots of nice chairs. The comfy easy chair in the back is the best! Also free wifi. could use some more spots to plug in your laptops and such, but that’s a quibble. This is my favorite coffee spot in the nabe. Folks who work there are also super nice!

It’s sad to give this business a 2 star rating — five month ago I would have given 4 stars. Reason for only 2 stars now are: 1. They reconfigured the space for spring/summer(hoping to get customers without kids in there and making a «non-kid» space for them — GOODLUCK!) and it feels really cramped and small now. When there are a lot of kids there, as there often are, it’s now a safety concern as there’s nowhere«safe» for the babies and young toddlers to be. 2. The policy on baby food. Come on. Most restaurants have a policy against bringing in outside food — so I can certainly understand that for toddlers, children and adults. But NO restaurants that I know of(besides this one) restricts outside baby food. To add insult to injury — they charge $ 4.00(that’s right — FOURDOLLARS$$$!!!$$$) for one little container of organic baby food. I have to say, the organic baby food they sell *is* tasty(even my toddler likes it) but it costs $ 1.70 at the Piedmont Market — which is not a cheap place to buy groceries. I find it rediculous and insulting to be forced to pay for baby food sold with a 230% mark-up. That’s not necessary and only makes the business look bad. 3. Their calendar is wrong. It shows all of these fun evening activies that apparently aren’t happening. I saw one, thought it sounded like fun, promised my kids we could go, packed them up, brought them down, only to find lights off and door locked. They clearly need to update their calendar. Having said all that — my kids always have fun there. There is just now a lot of thing that parents might find completely unreasonable and uncomfortable.

Tumble & Tea has changed into Sadie Dey’s Café. This is the most fabulous place to take your child and use your computer or read a bit. I love it here. The food is good, the coffee is good, as is the tea. I am so happy to have a resource like this! Especially on very hot days, or cold days. The best part is that there is a big space to play with climbing structures so the children can be very active! I think the mommy/baby demographic is one of the most difficult to please – not very appreciative of the amount of work it takes to set up and run a place like this. Patience! Suggestions are taken and usually implemented. Here is my update: after much work on the part of the owner, the food is even awesomer, they have VEGAN food!!! and the customer service is pretty much outstanding now. …And now, there is a big-kid room! We’re going to go try the big kid room!

Just had my son’s first birthday party on Saturday at SadieDey’s Café. It was great. The kids had a great time. All ages had something to do which made the event great. They were having so much fun that they didn’t want to stop and have cake. Although the Pizza People messed up our Pizza. David and his wife really took care of everything. My stress level was very low. I can’t wait to visit again!

It breaks my heart to write a review with just 2 stars. Here are my reasons i think the owners should consider relocation to a larger place. On rainy days like today(when they returned from their remodeling break and our first time back since). I was happy to see the entrance different but STILL cluttered. We all know that if you have an establishment like this, make room for strollers. They had different play areas which was a nice change but with the amount of adult to kid ratio to the size of the place… Put it this way, you have a small area with a lot of kids screaming their heads of whether they are happy, sad, crying, hysterical, you name it, it is close to driving you insane if you’re NOT used to it. Many parents/nanny’s/babysitters go there to have some adult time with the other fellow P/N/B but the lack of attention some kids get while their guardian is surfing the net or doing something else disturbs me. I know that has nothing to do with the owners but be parents! With that said, the lack of supervision and discipline is rampant here especially when it’s super packed and you can barely see your child. Menu the change was interesting but not appealing to adult standards(at least in my opinion). But I can see how they made it cool and intriguing to the kids. But remember, parents pay so please add some thing for the parents. I do love their chai latte tho ;) I have a special needs son and he loves this place and for the most part, I try to take him there when his schedule isn’t so busy after his appointments at Children’s. But after today, I may frequent another establishment. I may give it occasional chances if I’m in the area but I’m just NOT so convinced that their change was better than before.

I went to SadieDey’s Café yesterday and to my surprise I liked it. I had a very bad vibe of the place, since the website looks cheeeeezy and not realistic. I do have to say my daughter, who just turned one had a blast. My husband and I enjoyed a cup a coffee while our daughter ran around and feed off the vibe of the other kids. She loved slide and the ball-pit. I cannot wait to visit this place again. We now have a outlet to go and interact with other kids and parents.

I give this place 2 stars for the idea… otherwise they missed the mark on EVERYTHING else!!! The employees and owner are very disconnected with the customers that are keeping their establishment in business. The place is dirty! The toys are broken! The play space is small! There’s nobody watching the kid’s behavior! Kids are kicking and hitting one another, throwing toys, running around mowing down the little ones! YUCK! I have tried this place twice now thinking that the first time was just a bad day… That was NOT the case! Thumbs down!

I’m adding another star because my 15 month old has enjoyed himself quite a bit the last couple times we have been here. And today, amazingly, the guy working the counter was friendly and smiled! They have also improved some of the toys and structures in the last year so there is more to do. I do think the fruit and cheese plate for the kiddos is a total ripoff, maybe I’ll get him something else next time. Overall, this place is a pretty good way to spend a rainy morning or afternoon.

I want to give this place 5 stars sooo bad! But I hate to say, I have to only give it 3 mainly because of the food. It is a charming, great place to bring your kids and let them play while you have coffee time with a pal. A very unique place where you can let your kids go off and have fun without having to worry about them. I LOVE them for that. The issues I have regarding SadieDey’s are all about the food prep/service. The first time I went there, I ordered a panini that came with what looked like a super yummy salad, but as soon as I took a bite, I got a mouthful of grit!(i’m guessing unwashed lettuce?) I’m all for organic, but a little water to scrub off the dirt never hurt anybody… and then upon closer inspection, I saw little creepy crawlies in the salad. It was such a shame, because it looked delicious, but I just couldn’t get over it so I threw it away. I chalked it up to being a one time mishap. So, I went back a few weeks later. This time, I got a little package of fruit snacks, and low and behold, there were ants on it! Again, I wish this wasn’t so, because the atmosphere is so delightful! As a nanny, I would go back here with my little ones, but I will not be purchasing and food products from them anytime soon. Instead, I’m stickin’ to their Mochas!

Sadie’s is a great place for a play date with lots of healthy foods for the kiddies and adults and free wi-fi. Parking is pretty easy but there are a number of pan handlers around so be careful. The food selection is decent and I’m happy that this place serves healthy alternatives to the normal fast food kiddie joints! There’s a good amount of activities for the little ones but this place is geared more towards toddlers-5/6 year old max. They have costumes, a small ball area to jump around, kitchen area, and small jungle gym. The good news is they give you a discount on the second kid if you have more than one and aren’t strict about the«sibling» discount. ;) I would recommend this place to parents with toddlers but don’t get your hopes up, it’s not a huge place but a cute and quaint place for them to play for a few hours.

I’ve been planning to go here for months, but finally tried it for the 1st time today because I was in the area around lunchtime with my daughter(15 months old). My husband and I were both happy with our sandwiches and I really loved the kids menu. We ordered a fruit & cheese meal for my daughter, which came with yogurt to dip the fruits in. I loved that the fruits and everything were already cut up small enough for my daughter to eat on her own… this is the first time we’ve been out to eat somewhere that I haven’t had to cut up all of her food for her. My daughter played in the ball pit most of the time and absolutely loved it. I did notice that some of the toys were well-used as previous reviewers mentioned, but there were no toys there that seemed overly-used to the point where they should be thrown away. The reason I’m giving Sadie Dey’s 4 stars instead of 5 is because they say on their website that their kitchen is open until 1:15PM on Saturdays, yet they refused to serve my sister at 1:05PM. I showed them that their website said the kitchen closes at 1:15PM, but they stuck to their guns and refused to serve her. I really thought this was rude. If I had known they were closing down the kitchen at 1:00 I obviously would have ordered something for my sister earlier; she drove all the way from Fremont to join us there for lunch. Anyway, because they knew I was frustrated about this, they gave us 2 free admissions for my daughter to play there in the future. We’ll definitely go back to Sadie Dey’s in the future. My daughter absolutely loved it. I wish they would extend the weekend hours, but at the same time I realize that this place is owned & run by a mother and she deserves time with her children, too.

For months I have been making a mental note about coming to this place. Finally the opportunity presented itself. Decided to get my niece out the house today as it was pouring outside and I really didn’t want her cooped up in the house. Boy… me and every other parent must have been thinking the same thing! I walked in and was appalled with what I saw. What I envisioned was the beautiful place where activities were every where, kids were every where and nothing but fun going on. To my surprise, this place reminded me of a Baby Starbucks! Instead of this being a place where children can have fun it seemed like an adult haven. A place where all the mommies, daddies and whoever gathered to socialize while the kids played. There are couches around and minimum amount of activities. There’s a counter/register where you can order food, beverages and I’m pretty sure coffee. No was is around to meet/greet you when you walk in. I guess they decided that stuff was unimportant. Instead, you’re greeted by cards. Cards that read, step1 take off your shoes, step2 etc. I was like WTH. Is this what I was dying to see all these months? Ohhhh and not to mention this place is a little store front, which means there isn’t any parking anyway. I circled blocks for like 15 minutes. It’s also on a busy street. I’m sorry but I’ll pass!

My daughter just celebrated her third birthday here and all I can say is «WOW»! If you would like to have a stress-free party for your kid(we actually got to mingle and speak to all the other parents!!) then look no further. Sadiedey’s is good value and is BRILLIANT! Here’s what we loved: Amazing Mother’s Helper/Party Host Eric to greet people, keep an eye on kids, help with timing of party, etc. Think of him as your personal assistant during the party. RAD. Party venue rocking when we got there. From décor, balloons, inflating the mini-bounce-house and the mini-table set for kids, to organizing the adult finger-food, to saving my bacon when I forgot candles for our cake(DUH!), these guys are ORGANIZED. Quiet room for babies(parents??) to escape. PHEW. What? I don’t have to help clean up? MAGIC. My prep for the party consisted of a trip to Target to put together goodie bags and running to CostCo to pick up birthday cake, beer and wine. EASY. The best part? Mom and dads all commented how everyone got to enjoy themselves while all the kids safely played together. Now that’s MY definition of a good birthday party! Thank you Sue, Eric, and your crew at SadieDey’s.

I was really jazzed about coming here, but I have to say I was very let down. I read the great reviews and checked out the website and thought it looked great. I really liked the concept, but things just weren’t up to par. The three people behind the counter seemed super depressed, as well as not friendly. The girl that was at the register hardly acknowledged I was there, and trying to pay seemed like I was bothering her. Really unprofessional. The play area itself was small, and the toys were dated, starting to fall apart, and seemed heavily used. Some new toys should be considered, and preferably not everything an average family already has at home. My kid(3 yrs) didn’t even know where to start, and looked really depressed that I had even brought him there. He couldn’t find an activity he liked so began aligning cars in a row. After 30 minutes we left, and I felt completely unsatisfied. Still with a few changes this place could have great potential.

Let’s start with my disclaimer that I do not have children — which is a good thing because with a few exceptions I am not«a kid person.» There, I’ve said it. I would go to the dog park even though I am currently and hopefully temporarily dogless because I adore dogs. I would not go out of my way to go to a place that caters to children. So, when I found myself at a business meeting at SadieDey not once but 3 times I found myself getting used to the atmosphere. And the 3rd time I saw how wonderful the experience was for one of the people in the meeting who had brought her niece who was happily occupied with all manner of fun stuff in the play are — the things over there looked so colorful and inviting they made me want to leave the meeting and crawl around the play area. What was happening to me? And then I got a breakfast panini. they graciously let me swap out the egg for avocado and the sandwich was tasty, perfectly grilled and something I would return for. The iced tea was good too. And they are environmentally conscious with compostable stuff and plans to get a dishwasher to be even more green. And they generously donate to make the community a better place. Rave review from someone not in their target audience…

Damn heat waves. damn them to hell! Lucky for us, Sadie’s was a temporary sanctuary. I was so excited to find it not so crowded, with ample space and air conditioning. I found myself vacationing inside my cold coffee drink, fortunately strong enough to put hair on my chest– and make me believe. even if for just a little while. that I could keep up with toddlers. Chasing a sugared-up toddler around while wired on coffee, keeping cool indoors as the outside world melts? Win.

Nice to see an indoor place wear toddlers can play. I was a little confused about the entrance since it stated that kids need a hand stamp to play in the room. Do they charge to get in? One of the workers appeared to be having breakfast but just looked at me while I stood there for a while confused about the entrance. Never got a «come on in»… just kept eating. Eventually I just helped myself in. The food did not sound appetizing so I can’t comment on it. The only reason I give this place stars is for the fact that my kid really likes it.

(See my Tumble & Tea reviews here for historical context: .) We went on a rainy public holiday, and feared the worst. Surprisingly, we did not find it. I think the makeover has made a difference. Good: * The kids had a great time! * No waiting to use the potty. Bathrooms were large and clean. * The coffee drinks were ready right away, although I’m not a fan of the roast itself. * Food was ready quickly, and was better than before. The roasted yam panini sounded odd and looked unappetizing, but was quite the unexpected treat! * More toys available = happier kids. I saw multiple trains — woo! * Floating staff were on hand to direct play and offer assistance, both in the play and dining areas. * Song circle was a nice way to break up chaotic free play. * Other parents were friendly and more in touch with what their kids were doing than previous visits. * More allergy-free options on the kids’ menu — a step in the right direction. Not-So-Good: * It’s icky to go to a public bathroom in your socks. * People still bogart tables, which is unacceptable when it’s that crowded. I vote that management implement a policy where unattended tables are cleared after 15 minutes of inactivity. * Parents that don’t watch their kids. The rest of us felt bad when your crying tot couldn’t find you, and were annoyed when your kid would not go down the only slide for 5+ minutes. * Supply lockers in the bathroom should be locked so your critters don’t pull out all the supplies. I’d also like to see a tall lock on the door so the critters can’t escape when you take a turn on the potty. Good job, Sadie Dey! We’ll be back.

I was looking for a venue to have the Chub-Chub’s first birthday and happened upon SadieDey’s Café via the Bay Area Kid Fun website. I checked out the Birthday Party Packages and was immediately sold! I called the Party Hotline to find out if they had availability for a private party at the end of January and thankfully they did! Sue & I corresponded via telephone and email and she was *extremely* helpful! The day of the Chub-Chub’s party arrived and I was eager to finally see SadieDey’s IN-PERSON!(Yup, I booked the place solely based on what I read on the ‘net and the photos posted.) I was *EXTREMELY* pleased! SadieDey’s is super CUTE! There’s a large section for the kids to play, the café /dining area, and a separate room towards the back which I think would be perfect for nursing moms or a kiddy changing area! The great thing about the play area is that there is a small section just for infants! :) The two party attendants were great, as well! The Chub-Chub and his friends had a FUN time! I can’t wait to bring him back! :)
