Red Rover Adventures In Pet Care

I have been using Jeremy and our dog walker Tom for over 3 years. I can’t be more impressed with their professionalism, availability, and how well they treat our high energy Standard Schnauzer, Oakley. When Tom picks her up she is always thrilled and gets a welcoming rub down before they drive away, and she comes home tired and happy every time.
I also use Jeremy’s pet resort services to board and it’s wonderful that he will pick her up and return her from Oakland to the resort. I’ve been fortunate that whether its a last minute request or planned in advance they are always ready and happy to have my pup.
These guys are amazing. They are flexible, easy going, and so good with Oakley. I always feel as if she is with family when she’s with them. Thanks for everything Jeremy and Tom!

As another dog care business owner, I can appreciate how dedicated and ethical Jeremy manages Red Rover, and recommend him to the clients that need an alternative source of care. This is long overdue but we had such a great experience with Red Rover and Jeremy that I had to write a review. We boarded our 9 yr old Aussie mix for two weeks over the Christmas/​New Years holiday and everything from my initial inquiry, the personal visit Jeremy made to meet Jackson and look over the vet records, how accessible Jeremy was when we checked in during our buddy’s stay, and how happy and exhausted he was when he was dropped off was incredible. Usually when we’ve boarded our pup, he’s ecstatic to see us when we pick him up but when Jeremy brought him back to us (after hiking with him all morning), we were certain he didn’t want to come home! Plus, the fact that they will pick up and drop off your pup (on the east bay) is such a convenience!
We had such a great experience and I think we even enjoyed our holiday more knowing that our only child was happy and in good care. We’ll definitely be calling again!

Boy, is this review long overdue! I have nothing but positive things to say about Jeremy and Del, who have taken such good care of our pup Dolly over the past year and half. Jeremy is a complete dog whisperer; the first time my dog met him, she felt completely at ease and relaxed within a matter of minutes. Like many dog owners, our dog is like our baby, and I knew from that initial visit we were in good hands.
Jeremy and his staff, including lovely Del, have always been so accommodating with scheduling. My fiancé and I work nutty hours and the Red Rover crew always makes sure my pup is safe and taken care of while I’m gone. She’s terribly leash resistant and they still know how to accommodate her quirky ways, support and motivate her on trail walks with other dogs.
Finally, their prices are totally on par with other pet care providers, AND you know you are leaving your dog with intuitive folks who love our awesome four-​legged buddies.

Okay so we haven’t used this service yet (reason for 4 stars) BUT we had fully intended to, so I feel good about writing this review.
Here is the lowdown — we have two little dogs and we have never left them with anyone except family. Well that wasn’t going to work out suddenly and I needed another option. I checked Unilocal and called Jeremy — he was super professional and put me at ease immediately. He actually runs a «pet resort» so the little furry guys get to romp and play to their hearts content. The cost is very reasonable and I immediately booked the stay.
Now today I found out that our plans changed due to circumstances beyond my control — and I won’t be going out of town as planned. So no need to send our ‘kids’ off to ‘camp’. I was feeling badly about calling Jeremy and suddenly cancelling — but he was SUPER PROFESSIONAL again! Wow! And put me at ease.
Just with the limited phone interaction, I can say that I totally believe these folks are good at what they say they do, which is take care of dogs. I am actually bummed we can’t try them out this time around. :-(but now I know that if we want to go out of town we have the right folks lined up and in our rolodex. They should be in yours too.

We were extremely satisfied with Jeremy and his crew when we needed a dog walker and dog boarding. Jeremy really cares and is super knowledgeable.
Highly recommend Red Rover and will continue to use their services as long as we live in the East Bay.

Jeremy has been fantastic and our Aspen loves her daily home visits from Dennis. The months of service and response has been great. Unfortunately we recently had the misfortune of the dog walker, James, lose our 6 month old lab for hours while on a group hike near Merritt College. We only found her that night through a website posting we placed for our lost puppy. Lesson learned: group walks need close attention.

I sent my 2 dogs to them for a weekend. it was a last minute thing and I was worried because this was my first time sending them to boarding. The Red Rover staff was very flexible and they were able to pick the dogs up from my house. They also gave me several numbers to call/​text for updates throughout the weekend, which really made me feel better. When the dogs were dropped back to me after a couple days, they seemed happy and relaxed. It was like a little vacation for them :) The next time I need boarding for them, I will be calling Red Rover. Send ‘em on over!

Red Rover has been fantastic. Our puppy has loved Dennis and Jeremy has been very flexible to work with. We’ve been using the daily dog walks (and will be doing the trail walks when he’s old enough). Very reasonable prices especially when considering the high level of service. I definitely recommend

We got off track from regular Red Rover adventures, but now we’re back in the stable, twice-​a-​week rotation. The dogs are extremely happy and tuckered out after every outing. Jeremy and his team do a great job keeping the dogs safe and having fun. Such a helpful and valuable service!

These guys r great! Not a typical kennel or dog sitter. Our pooch can be fussy and he doesn’t want to come home. Best is pick up and drop off service! Jeremy is a great guy that takes a lot of care with his clients no matter how many legs they have. Don’t think just do it!

My high energy pup has been going on group hikes with Tom for almost a year and we couldn’t be happier. She is always excited to see him when he pulls up and returns a happy, tired dog. We have also boarded her with Red Rover a few times. It is so nice that boarding is in a home and we dont have to worry that she is being cooped up all day. They were even super accommodating and flexible about boarding dates for the birth of our baby. I would highly recommend Red Rover to anyone looking for a great dog walker/​boarding.

Jeremy and Alfred took care of Sully for about 5 days over the 4^th of July weekend — he emailed that Sully was doing well and getting along with the other doggies, which made me feel alot better, since this was her first time being away for so long. Alfred picked her up and dropper her off at the house, which really alleviated the chaos of humans getting ready for an out of town trip. When she came home, she was smiling and seemed really happy and mellow, so I knew she got a good amount of exercise and must have had a great time! yaaaaay! Thanks, guys!

Great pooch people!
I placed my dog is three daycare facilities, two very good, one not so hot. My rescue boxer wasn’t as docile as these facilities required. After the second dismissal, I was really worried that she would have to spend days all alone, unable to even go potty, which would have been totally unacceptable.
A friend recommended Red Rover. Wow! This service has been great for my dog’s mental health and happiness.
Tom takes her out for 2−½ to three hours a day. She’s calmer and better behaved than ever and is no longer destructive in the house. I really think this is because of Red Rover and the great people who are taking her out and giving her a chance to exercise and socialize with other dogs in an open space.
Jeremy has also boarded her a couple of times and she has come back mellow despite the temporary upheaval to her routine.
The rates are reasonable. The walks are less expensive than daycare and a lot more convenient for me, as I commute 30 miles to work. The boarding cost is market rate.
If you’re one of those bitter, nit-​picky dog owners who engage in an elaborate internal dialog about ways the world is persecuting you and you thrill to skewering small businesses on Unilocal,I hope you won’t contact Red Rover. This is a people business. It won’t work for you.
Otherwise, go for it!

I don’t take a good dog walker for granted after our first dog walker when we moved to Oakland lost our Shih Tzu in Strawberry Canyon. It was a miracle we found her, but Red Rover — particularly Jeremy and Jesse — restored our confidence! For the last 3 years, they have walked and taken care of Bacia overnight and are great. Jesse is our primary walker. She has taken incredible care of Bacia and going above and beyond seems to be her normal.
They truly treat Bacia as a member of their dog family. Daily updates, cleaned after rainy walks, thoughtful suggestions if anything is off (we’ve had some tummy issues with our dog and their suggestions ended up being great advice!) — and generally just thoughtful. We recently moved from the Bay Area and I already miss them — and I’m sure Bacia does too.

I am sorry to say he did not leave a great impression .
His organisation seems tardy and he does seem not to pay attention.
He did not show up to an appointment.
After I asked per email what happened did he say he deleted our appointment by accident and I was off the radar. Then he turned and asked why I had not called.
I did not need an appointment reminder to remember that we had an appointment.
We were moving that day and had many other things on our mind. And other potential walkers came by on time.
If he cannot get his calendar together I doubt my pet in good hands with him.
I cannot recommend his services.

We love Red Rover. Our dog has been walked by them for well over 8 years. Turnover is very low as we’ve only had 2 walkers during that time (in addition to the owner Jeremy) so the dog is like family. And the pooch loves being out for about 3 hours on local East Bay trails while we’re at work.

I love Red Rover. Last November, we adopted a brand new 10 month old puppy and then right away in December we had to board him for the holidays. I was so nervous about finding a good temporary home for him, but Red Rover came to the rescue. That’s exactly what their boarding services are — a temporary HOME. My dog gets to play with other dogs, is never caged up, gets to go out on multiple long walks during the day and I never have to worry about his well being. He loves Red Rover just as much as I do.
Thank you, Red Rover. I don’t know what I would l do without you.

Sometimes behind your back, there are S***ty people who will abuse your little babies. This is not one of those times.
When I travel, I can rest assure that my little son will be perfectly here at Red Rover Pet Care. Sometimes my babe doesn’t want to go home when I pick him up! :(Sad, but true.
I truly recommend Jeremy. Best place where I can believe that my baby is safe and well fed.

Our 1 yo Boston Terrier has been going on twice-​weekly excursions with Delphine and Jeremy for months now and he loooooooooves it. Delphine is wonderful with him and our dog adores her, too. She doesn’t treat him as a «client», she cares for him as if he’s part of her family.
Cooper has benefited greatly from the socialization of being a part of his «pack», too. He’s great with other animals because he’s learned all the correct ways to behave. Red Rover keeps the packs consistent so that they become their own little group.
Our vet even asked us how we were exercising Cooper bc he has amazing muscles for a dog his size. The excursions keep him in great health.
Cooper comes back happy, tired and ready to nap for the rest of the afternoon. For a working pet-​owner, that’s gold! Red Rover is extremely easy to work with and is worth every penny.
