Quarter Pound Giant Burger

This place is good for what it’s for: burgers, fries and shakes. You order outside of a window, pay cash and wait 10 minutes for your food. I am a burger junkie and have been coming here for as long as I can remember.
I have occasionally had breakfast and its hearty and greasy. In a good way. So if you’re really hungry or have a strenuous long day ahead, maybe it’s for you too.

Eh I saw all the positive reviews and Finally stopped in to try it after passing by it for over 10 years. Clean looking place with clear menus, I ordered a basic bacon, sausage and two eggs scrambled breakfast. So I couldn’t go wrong right? Well maybe I should’ve gotten a burger instead. Eggs tasted and looked like they were pre made (i imagined scrambled to be scrambled, mine came out looking like a pancake…) Sausage was uh in a patty form at wasn’t so tasty and burnt on one side. Hash browns could’ve been a tad bit crispier. The kind gentleman forgot my bacon what’s a gal to do without BACON! Sigh. For $ 10 I should’ve took myself up the street and got breakfast from my regular joint.

Bomb breakfast burritos and their burgers are good too!

This place always has the best bacon burger. The fries could use some love, but their burgers and sandwiches are delish! They also have delicious ice cream shakes and their staff is friendly.

New owners as of May 2014. Nice people. I only ordered a cup of chilie. It was very cold and the crackers were very stale. About 99 seconds in the microwave to heat. I bet the chilie is not kept hot and microwaved per order. I saw them unloading stock from their personal vehicle. Costco products. I would believe.

This place sucks. …there is 2 lazy females «working «there, they must cook a bunch of burgers on the grill ahead of time and then microwave them as people order… I saw my food and I told her I want my money back. I go to the quarter pounder on Mac and high street. the food is always hot. .they arent very friendly but I dont care as long as my food is good… boycott this quarter pounder… go to las comales if u dont want to drive all the way over to high street…

Under new management (so long Mr. and Mrs. Lee and Miss Agnus), but the same reliable and tasty food! New combos, now serving breakfast, and still open late. They make the fries when you order, not just sitting under a lamp. Didn’t see many pies, perhaps sold out. Really nice and courtious women grilling and serving. Plenty of parking. A bit ghetto, however, relatively safe. Easy on and off Hwy 580, Fruitvale Exit.

Always a good solid meal. Fresh, cold and crispy produce on the burgers. Crispy fries and amaaaaazing chili cheese fries! Never had them mess up or burn my order in the 10+ times I’ve been here. If you want a fresh, made to order, quick burger in the Dimond district, this place is definitely a good place to go, with lots of options. Better than In n Out. But, I probably wouldn’t go out if my way here if I didn’t love so close.

I’ve come here for years. Their burgers are soo good! Fries are good too. If you’re around this area and you want a good burger this is the place! Mmm

there are many wayyyyyyyy better burger spots all over oakland. i prefer judys but they were closed so i gave this spot a try — the burger is pretty flavorless. onion rings are okay

Horrible service, they mess up orders, and You get burnt food half the time… The griddle is too hot or something.

Giant Burger is my go to spot in the late evening or the wee hours of the morn. The burgers are delicious and always the same. It’s not a health food spot by any means, but it offers a lot of typical «burger spot» stuff. I only know about the burgers, fries, soda, shakes and pie and they always hit the spot. The wait time is minimal. If you’re unfamiliar with the process, you make your order and pay, then I retreat to my car and wait for someone to wave at me, and walk back up to the window to pick up my order. Easy peezy.
They also now accept debit cards, which makes the whole process that much easier.
They have recently added picnic tables if you choose to eat there.
Don’t be concerned for your safety, I’ve never had a problem no matter what time of the day or night I go. You might encounter the usual Oakland panhandler, but they’re friendly and harmless.

Your normal, run-​of-​the-​mill, non-​gourmet diner with hot dogs, chili cheese fries, pies, shakes, and all the other unhealthy American fare that makes Americans look the way they do. You will feel pretty nasty afterwards so I recommend you only eat this stuff once a year.
Hot dog tastes like a normal hot dog. For $ 3+ each, I would rather get 2 of them at Costco. They are of similar quality but we know that this small diner does not order nearly as much quantity as aforementioned warehouse giant. Chili cheese fries are also pretty tasty and they are generous with both the chili and cheese.
As for the shakes, I would suggest the pineapple shake because it tastes like a tropical goodie even though it is made so thick that you won’t be able to slurp it for at least 10 minutes.
I like the outdoor seating, though the view is nothing special. It is facing a parking lot of cars belonging to nearby residents and not the patrons. So if you drive up and think «wow this place looks busy», it really isn’t.

My boyfriend’s brother loves this place and always brings us food when he comes over. The corn dogs are hands down the best corn dogs I have ever had. The batter is thick and cooked to absolute perfection. I’ve had them 3 different times now and they are the same every time. I’ve also had the chicken sandwich which is excellent. I’ve had the chili cheese fries, too, which are good, but my favorite will always be from Sonic’s. Good fries. I’d definitely recommend this place if you’re in a burger and fries kind of mood.

The shakes are good… this place used to be our go-​to spot when nothing else was open. Last Sunday as I was taking my third bite of my veggieburger a long dark hair that was embedded in the burger was pulled out of the burger… with my teeth. Welp I guess ill be hitting up Jack in the Crack when I’ve got the late night munchies

Want fast food burger but not really fast food quality burgers? Then you come to the right place. Their burgers are made to order. From the time of ordering to pick is about under 10 minutes. Not bad.
They have your basic selections of burgers. Some others like Chicken burger, chili dogs, chicken tenders. You can gulp it down with some soda or milkshakes.
They have a small counter seating inside and couple picnic-​like tables with umbrellas outside. A parking lot for you to park so you don’t have to spend money on the meter.

Sitting here now. Enjoying the smell of fried goodness… kid’s food delivered hot and quick! Corn dog is delectable! Chewing on Bacon Burger now… so delicious! French fries hotttt, and ohh so gooooood! Cheese fries perfect, just right amount of Nacho cheese goodiness! They also offered chedder! Service was very friendly!
My son and wife pointed out the fries were white, not brown, but they were indeed cooked through, and hot, just not super crisp (but not raw.) some may complain, but I think it was the oil they used, not the cooking time.
Also, I was eating at 10 am, so the service was noticeably faster than other lunch times, I’m quite certain. All in all, an awesome experience!!! I will def go back!!!

Staff — eh, not so friendly
Burger — no pickles? WTF? I love me some pickles! Anywho, slightly overdone but OK. Beef was not the best but had a great flavor. Comes topped with lettuce, onion, tomato, and mayo. I added ketchup.
Fries — they don’t salt them so be prepared to season on your own
Pie — went for the chocolate cream per the staff recommendation — might be better then Nations.

Will go back again but not my favorite burger in the Bay

If God made a burger for all of us to enjoy, this place would have it.
It’s always great here, no matter what time during the day, if you’re in a group, stopping for a quick bite or just checkin it out; ¼ lbs. will have the meal to satisfy you. I’ve been going to this ¼ lbs for about 20 years, my parents used to take us here before we went to the rose gardens or the Japenese Tea Gardens.
So many fond memories or tasty foods and family laughs.
So if you see one of these signs from the 50’s I beg you stop by and order a cheeseburger combo.
