Really like this place! I’d been wanting to try it for awhile because I’m half filipino and vegetarian, and of course here it is, in the bay area. We went to it when it was posted up at first fridays in Oakland. Yummy food! I love their vegan take on it, as everyone knows, it’s tough to find even vegetarian, let alone vegan filipino food. We got the spring rolls and a sampler platter. Worth it, try it out! :)

This place is great! I was able to try their dishes when their food truck came by my work place. Unlike most Filipinos, I rarely eat meat, dairy, or eggs. I have also gone vegan for lent these last few years so I really appreciate that someone has re-created traditional Filipino dishes that are completely vegan. I tried the Adobo which was a twist of the original. My parents are from different areas of the Philippines so I grew up eating different types of adobo. I liked that they topped the adobo with fresh tomatoes. The apritada was delicious! It was my favorite of the two. So yummy! Thanks so much for creating such great twists on some of my childhood favorites! These dishes definitely prove that you can make food taste great without using any animal products. I’d definitely come back to try more of their dishes.

So good! I got the Apritada at the Lake Merritt food truck(Wednesdays). The box was filled to the brim, but not very big. The tomato sauce on this dish was unbelievably good! There was some rich flavor in the broth that made it taste like like there was chicken broth in it — in a good way. Loved it!

Tasty but dare I say a little pricey. Adobo with ¾ rice, 7 small strips of soy chicken, 5 slices of eggplant, and 4 cherry tomatoes = $ 9.00. Hmm the food is cooked fresh, vegan, and the staff are friendly, but that price point vs. serving hurts. Plus with vegan food I tend to eat much more since it’s not as filling as meated foods(?). I’ll be hungry soon. Get the sampler. Cheers.

Oh. My. God. Im filipino and became vegan this year for ethical reasons. My journey so far has been very awesome but has struggles. Especially being Filipino and not having any vegan friends. I live in Fremont and always wanted to try this place out but never had time to go to the off the grid in Oakland. And then. Off the Grid comes to Fremont down the street from my work. and then. I saw No Worries on the list. I died. of course i had the sampler. Which came with so much food! Afritada bomb dot com. Seriously tastes like the real deal. Lumpia was yummy! Its the bigger ones and tasted like it had meat in it. I never really ate pancit before i was vegan but this tasted exactly like it. Perfectly peppery, I wish I had calamansi to drizzle on it. Adobo didn’t taste 100% like adobo but it was one of my favorites(it was sour which I lovedddd) so good enough for me! The mungo, I normally didn’t eat this before I was vegan but this was yummmmm!(If I had to pick my absolute favorites: afritada and adobo and lumpia) Being vegan can make me feel isolated a lot of times. But this food truck really made my day. Thank you No Worries chef and staff for being compassionate towards animals and the environment while reminding me what Filipino food tastes like. Also, if you ever make the following vegan, I would love you even more: dinuguan, arroz caldo, kare kare, sinigang, and sisig. Thank you kindly!!! :)

No Worries was one of the food trucks at the wonderful Life is Living Festival and I was grateful. My daughter has embraced my lifestyle change so she was excited about a vegan lunch. Having grown up with Filipinos I wondered if the food would have that down-home richness; it did not disappoint. We shared crunchy lumpias and pancit. It was delicious and filling, exactly what we needed after dancing in the warm sunshine. I also appreciated the short wait and friendly service. I will definitely be looking to see when I can visit their truck once again.

Always want to try something new at this food truck. But(sigh) always get pulled back to the Apritada. SODELICIOUS!!! When I’m out at a community event or concert like Malcolm X Jazz Festival, Life is Living, or a public school rally and see the No Worries food truck… my day is officially made. Also worked with Jay-Ar to bring the truck to a weekend conference my organization hosted, on Buddhism and social justice. Really big hit with the attendees. Good food, good politics, good people.

I really wanted to like this place — I bought a Living Social deal(basically a buy one get one free dinner and lunch) and took a friend to dinner the«No Worries» location in downtown Oakland(1442 Franklin Street) where it all started in 2011. We ordered a lot of different items off the menu and… they kind of all tasted the same. OK, «subtle» is probably a better description — but the dishes were all very bland and uninteresting. My friend and I did not finish any of the dishes — and I never used the other coupon. Prices were very low, portions were very generous, service was VERY slow and the place wasn’t very clean(cockroach on the table — yuck!). I’m glad that this place hits a sweet spot for some folks and they are able to make a living but it’s one restauranteur I can’t see trying twice. In fact — I couldn’t give away the lunch coupon to ANYONE!

I really wanted to like this, and I’ve been meaning to try it for a long time. It’s the only credible vegan option at First Fridays. It’s awesome of course that it’s vegan, and I tried one of the dishes — basically noodles, potatoes and celery. I couldn’t finish it. I want to try perhaps the other items in time, but I think that Filipino food might just not be for me.

It’s the kinna place all Filipina/os & all vegan Filipina/os should try at least once. I wanted to try pansit, pero… It sold out! So, I went with vegan Apritada. I was curious because I’ve only had regular Apritada with real chicken… so this was my first time trying the smooshy protein that soy is. The tomato sauce was good, just what I’d expect to taste in the non-vegan dish. They had some snow peas, potatoes(cut in perfect cubes) & the soy protein, which was a soft, but good textures to replicate the chicken texture. It was on point in replicating tastes, however, I’m a bit conflicted because… If I could translate Apritada the vegan version… What I had would be exactly it, but I wanted something new. ? Maybe steamed carrots or bay leaf as a pretty garnish? I think also some green bell peppers would have added a little more to make this dish a 5. I can’t say exactly what I was looking for, but I knew it could have used an addition to the meal. The brown rice was good and the food was filling, so I would totally recommend it! Service was cool, too & they were pretty quick. Living, loving, kapwa, Renee Rises– The Filipina foodie

Vegan Filipino food is almost an oxymoron. Crispy pata(deep fried pork leg), lechon kawali(fried pork belly), sisig(sizzling bits of pig’s head), dinuguan(pork blood stew), and kare kare(oxtail and tripe peanut stew)…I can go on and on. Even for breakfast, they have longanisa(sweet pork sausage), tocino(cured pork), and of course, spam… alongside a fried egg and garlic rice. I’m sitting here noshing on some Vanilla Almond Cereal and I’m already getting the meat sweats just thinking about Filipino food. From time-to-time I enjoy eating Filipino food but I end up feeling and looking like Ms. Bibendum(Michelin Man’s wifey). Ok, I look that anyways but I think you know where I’m coming from. No worries because No Worries Filipino Vegan Cuisine got your back. This food truck offers all the authentic flavors of Filipino cuisine without the guilt or bloat(no msg). I’m no vegan but this truck got the seal of approval by Unilocal Vegan Power Couple(John B. and Rachel C.) so I knew it was legit. We visited their truck yesterday at SoMa StrEat Food Park for Very Vegan Sundays. On the menu was adobo(soy vinegar based stew — $ 9), apritada(tomato based stew — $ 9), mungo(mung bean stew — $ 8), pancit(stir-fried vermicelli noodles — $ 8), and lumpia(fried egg rolls — $ 4). With the exception of the pancit and lumpia, orders come with a side of brown rice. Sampler Plate with 1 lumpia was $ 16. CC’s accepted. Since we were sharing, I ordered the Sampler Plate($ 16): . My fav were the mungo and the lumpia. The mungo is a hearty stew similar to creamy lentil stew with kabocha squash, green beans, and fried tofu. Even better than the rendition I had growing up because I love kabocha. The lumpia was piping hot, crunchy, and meaty(soy ground beef). I would have never known it was vegan if I wasn’t told so. Now that’s a true testament of solid vegan food. The apritada and adobo(savory and vinegary) tasted like the real deal but personally, I’m not a fan of faux meat that it came with. I just can’t get use to the spongy texture. Pancit was a bit bland and could of used more garlic and a sprinkling of scallions for some color. The brown rice was really dry. Filipino food can be intimidating especially since it’s really underrepresented outside of Daly City. I think No Worries would be a good introduction for newbie Filipino food eaters… and even for carniwhores like Mr. NSS. The way he was eating the vegan lumpia, it was like he was lustfully devouring a longanisa. Wait that doesn’t sound right…

I don’t really understand the concept of soy meat. But I’ve read all the positive reviews and decided to try. The taste was good and full of flavor… if you like taste of chicken(thanks God I didn’t take soy beef). It was too ‘chicken’ for me. As a vegan I’m not looking for any flavor and texture substitution of meat. I’m happy with vegetables and so on. It was my own mistake to choose this food truck, but if you like the concept of soy meat — go ahead!

I saw this truck parked on the CSUEB campus and simply HAD to try it! Vegan filipino food, really? I didn’t think it could be done and done well, but boy was I wrong! I ordered the adobo and my friend got the apritada with lumpia. The whole experience was really ironic because she was convinced the food would suck and wouldn’t compare to what we fondly remember of our carnivorous pasts when we would filipino all the time. If you’re vegetarian or vegan, this truck is honestly worth hunting down in Oakland coming from the south bay! It is that good. I didn’t think I’d ever taste filipino flavors again until now! The lumpia are as good as the best I’ve ever had and the adobo has succulent eggplant and is drenched in a delicious peppery soy sauce. The only reason I’m giving a 4 instead of a 5 is because I think my adobo could’ve used a tad more sauce and the apritada wasn’t my favorite thing(it seemed a bit bland compared to the overwhelmingly delicious juices of the adobo, but thats just my bias because my friend loved it!). I’m planning on stalking this truck until I get my next fix. The reviews aren’t lying people!

Oh my gosh… 100% would recommend. My friend and I went to the Soma StrEat Food vegan brunch this weekend. On a whim we bought food from No Worries. Everything was amazing. Seriously, the best food we had all weekend was from this food truck. I want to eat their food every day. We started with the Lumpia and it was so good we went back for the Adobo. The amount of flavor in that dish was phenomenal. Please please please try No Worries if you get the chance. You will not regret it.

I fell in love with No Worries about 9 months ago when I visited their truck on Thursdays at the Westbrae Biergarten. I had the Lumpia first and couldn’t get enough. Soon, at First Fridays in Oakland I came to love and devour their Apritadas as well. Everything is well cooked, well spiced, mouth watering and totally Vegan! My partner and I asked Jay-Ar if he would please cater our wedding and we couldn’t have been happier when he said yes! All of our 80+(many carnivorous) guests LOVED the food, Jay-Ar was friendly, professional, helpful, kind and so accommodating. And if that wasn’t enough, the price was MORE than reasonable! Thank you No Worries for everything!

Filipino food done Vegan. Fantastic! I heard about the truck and happened upon it at the Soma Streat Food Park. I had pancit and lumpia and it was just as good as the meaty versions. So, I’m very impressed. The pancit came with some brown rice underneath and that’s awesome. Brown rice, really?! It was a nice surprise. The lumpia was also very good and I just wanted more than a thimble of sweet chili sauce. Other than that, I’m super stoked.

Wow… wow… all I can say is wow! After months of drooling over their online menu, I was finally able to visit their truck, which parks itself in the Off the Grid event at North Berkeley BART station, just about every other Sunday. I don’t recall ever having tried actual Filipino food, but this seemed like a good place to start, as you can tell by all of the other positive reviews. I read over the menu, my tummy rumbling. I was too busy playing with a perky pup today, so I hadn’t had much time to eat(besides some popcorn and a nectarine). I was starving and curious, so I ordered the four-item plate. Their adobo is life-changing. Honestly. One of the tastiest treats I’ve put in my mouth in quite some time. Sink your teeth into a deliciously meaty, tender soy-chicken with just the right amount of savory, salty, saucy flavor. It also comes with some lovely, lovely eggplant and brown rice. I also quite enjoyed the other dishes: the apritada, mungo, and pancit. The food is bursting with color and excellent flavors. Not sure what the spice level is supposed to be, but I will definitely inquire about some hot sauce, or if they can make mine hotter. All of the food I tried today was pretty mild, so no need to fear if you are sensitive to the spicy stuff. A special heart-felt thank you to John B. and Rachel C., Unilocal’s all-star Elite couple for introducing me to them. With so many excellent vegan options in the Bay Area, it’s almost impossible to keep track of all the notable noms. One regret: I didn’t try the lumpia, as I was short on paper monies(it was cash only). There’s always next time! They are also popping up at the Westbrae Biergarten on Thursday nights. Come with me!

Time to go back to my roots… if you haven’t figured it out by now, I’m 100% Filipina. Being raised in an «old generation» mentality by my parents was not easy. Especially when I’m surrounded by 3 older brothers and I was the only girl and the baby to boot. What I did get out of being raised this way was, RESPECT for others, cooking, cleaning and other things that I wouldn’t say was all that beneficial… I’m sure if you’re Filipina, you know what I mean. When my honey first met me, he probably thought«score, I’m going to have some home cook Filipino food»…aside from the«damm she’s hot». Haha. Boy, was he wrong on the Filipino food(not the hot part). He didn’t realize I don’t like Filipino food or any type of Asian/Pacific Islander food. As months passed and he kept showing me YouTube videos of this guy from«No Worries» making vegan pancit, I figured ok, I think my honey deserves me to at least try and make this. So when I decided to make it, I busted out and made Pancit, Lumpia and Sinigang. After that it was history, I started enjoying Thai, Vietnamese and etc… Luckily, No Worries saved me from slaving over a hot stove. They now have gone mobile as of 09.06.13 with their black beauty(not to compare to Eugene’s black beauty) rolling down East Bay. The first time we tried No Worries was when they had a «pop up tent» at First Friday in Oakland and again just recently when they debut their truck. The menu somewhat changed. In our first visit we had the Mungo, Apritada, Bistek, and Pancit over white rice. The second time we came we ordered Adobo, Mungo, Menudo, and Pancit over brown rice. Sorry peeps they no longer have white rice. So to all you«white rice» eaters, it’s time to come over to the other side. I know brown rice is just not«Filipino» enough, but hey neither is «vegan» Filipino food. Who would of guess it exist, right? Heck how many Filipino’s do you know are vegan? It’s rare, because we love our meat. To be honest, you can only get so much of the same question from your relatives«how do you get your protein»? You know we have a BIG family. Anyways, what I love about No Worries is even though they moved up the chain from pop up tent to the truck the prices stayed the same. Thanks No worries!!! If you do find the truck, my recommendation for you, is to try the Apritada, Pancit & Adobo. Especially the Apritada it’s the BEST, I’ve ever tasted. I hope down the road No Worries can start making dessert… Ginataang bilo-bilo, Bibingka, Maja Blanca, Banaque, Turon and etc… AWWWHELLYA! They would be the bomb! From a white boys perspective visit my honey’s review .

Being Vegan, Filipino food had been one of the few types of cuisine that has escaped the attention of my diverse taste buds. Unless you count fries at Jollibee, there isn’t much for Vegan folks at most Filipino restaurants… I had always wanted to try No Worries when they had their storefront still open. I missed the boat two years or so ago when they closed up shop, and have been relentlessly stalking the whereabouts of their pop up stand ever since. Apparently I need to brush up on my stalking skills because it’s taken me this long to run into them. In the meantime, I met a girl that made me the best Sinigang I’ll ever eat. Thus, my renewed interest in tracking down No Worries. We found them at Oakland’s First Friday Event. Despite the crowds, she spotted their sign from a mile away. And I’m not saying that just because she’s Pinay… That girl seriously has laser vision! We shared their 4-item combo at a reasonable $ 12 Since it was date night, I sprung an extra $ 3 for a yummy mango drink. A pretty decent meal to share for $ 15 if you’re not absolutely starving. Only thing missing was some Lumpia to round out a perfect meal. The Apritada(or as I like to call it, Apri-TA-DA!) ended up being my favorite dish, despite not initially wooing me with the description of being a Filipino stew. It tasted like something I have had before, although I couldn’t quite place it. Whatever it is, I’ll be begging my girl to recreate this dish for us soon! The Bistek was surprisingly quite good as well. Especially for something that is a pure beef dish in non-Vegan form. The soft faux meat was well flavored by the expertly seasoned sauce and veggies. The only thing I wasn’t 100% in love with was the Mungo. It didn’t have a whole lot of flavor. Curiously, this was the only item that featured tofu instead of faux meat. Although that’s not the reason for the lack of flavor. It also didn’t look like anything in the picture on their menu board. It’s okay, No Worries. The Pancit was delicious even if it can’t quite match the home made version my sweetie whips up for me in the kitchen. Although No Worries version does have a more«meaty» taste if that’s what you’re after. I could eat these thin noodles all day long. Word on the street,(their Facebook pages) No Worries is in the process of outfitting their food truck. When it’s fully operational, I’ll be chasing them all around the bay, trying to get a taste of the best and only Vegan Filipino food around. Unless of course you count my babygirl’s home cooking… Pro Tip: They’re also available for personal chef services as well as catering. If I was loaded, Chef Jay-Ar would be in my kitchen daily! She’s Filipino so she must know what she’s talking about… Right? Right? *confused look*
