Nick’s has a bunch of microbrew, beers, 6 paks all unpriced. for some reason, the big bottles are all on the bottom, out of sight and unpriced.
didn’t want to get ticker shock so just got a bag of chips (1.49)

These guys have a rough crowd to deal with, but they could be a bit nicer. Beer prices aren’t bad and they stock a great selection of Drake’s, Lagunitas and other hoppy deliciousness.

Nick’s has a wider selection of beers, wines, hard liquors, sodas, and smokes than most other convenience stores in the area. They have several flavours of Ben & Jerry’s, Jones Soda, soy milk, imported beers, fine wines, the list goes on…
Of course, you do pay a slight premium for the convenience and selection. Don’t expect to do your grocery shopping here but Nick’s definitely has the right assortment of merchandise for a variety of occasions.

Best of the West!!! Nick’s is a great place for your liquor needs. They also have a variety of Great snack!!! The owner is a really friendly and pleasant guy. The customers are really nice… I love that store… its a jewel of west Oakland. It sits on a lonely corner but lights up the neighborhood with its charm… Great Place… Five Stars!!!

Nick’s is great –in fact, posh by West Oakland standards. The owner is a really nice guy. They have a small selection of almost palatable $ 10 wines. They sell cloves. They have more than one brand of potato chip. If I do happen to be needing a malt liquor fix, they have the full selection of Cisco, Sparks and various 40s.
Most importantly, their patrons do wonders for my body image. I rarely get out of there without at least one compliment on the size of my ass.
