My go to place for VN food in Chinatown for grilled pork with egg roll, shredded pork etc… sometimes I will get with rice or vermicelli noodles. I’ve tried the lunch specials too: chicken with eggplants. nice spiciness to it or I’ll get the lemongrass chicken. really good seasoning too. reasonably priced. Too bad they don’t get more business. My food orders online are always on time and perfect each time.

Bad for Delivery. Very Bad. Ordered last night(a Monday) through Grub Hub at 7:57pm. Was emailed and texted that the food would arrive by 8:45pm. When I called at 9pm, I was told it would be 5 – 10 more minutes, and they had been«very busy.» No apology. Food arrived at 9:19pm, almost an hour and a half from the time we’d ordered. Of course it was cold, and my vegetarian egg rolls had pork or some kind of other meat in them. I would have given the Phở no more than 3 stars even if it hadn’t been tepid. It was bland and underwhelming. I will not order from here again.

Pretty empty on a Saturday afternoon when I stopped by — portions and food were on par w/the other Vietnamese restaurants in the area. I had the bun rieu which was good but not as good as Rang Dong’s a couple blocks away, and the BF had a rice plate which was slightly underwhelming as there wasn’t much on the plate. I might return but so far w/the exception of the service which was good, it was just overall okay.

Bit pricey, but worth going to. One of my faves now, because they open till 11pm. Most phở places close like 7pm. This place is not your ordinary phở place, ’cause its really classy. Also, they have really nice décor & I love the color of the place inside. Clean & the owner & other workers are really nice.

Underwhelming is the nicest thing I can think to say about Miss Saigon 2. Bland, soggy & tasteless also come to mind. Leftovers were better after adding rice wine vinegar, siracha, soy sauce, sesame seeds and cashews.

First impression: Excellent service! My water glass was never empty and the waiter was just so friendly and nice. I was super impressed! The restaurant was very clean. and the bathroom was super clean too! The food is really good. I had the seafood noodle soup and honestly they don’t skimp out on the seafood or noodles! The scallop was SO good. I was quite impressed :).

This will be our second time eating here. Not too many customer when we were their maybe it’s because we came on a weekday usually around 7pmish. The décor was romantic with semi dime lighting and very clean restroom. The staff are really polite and made sure our water is refilled constantly. Things we have tried and is a must order again are: 1) Vietnamese Pan Cake«Banh Xeo», A very crispy pan cake on the outside and shrimp/bean sprout in the inside with plenty of fresh lettuces/mint leaves to wrap and dipped in fish sauce«Nuoc Mam» 2) Miss Saigon Special Clay Pot, This dish is heaven! it has scallop, shrimp, squid, pineapple, bamboo, mushroom, and veggies. Everything goes on top of the rice that is simmered in a clay pot. When you eat the rice you will taste all the seafood goodness that is soaked into it. Best part is when you get to the bottom you will come across a crispy and slight browning of the rice bits. Luv luv luv! 3) Chicken Salad, This is not your typical chicken salad you will know the difference when you get to try it yourself. Fresh! Overall very fresh, plenty to eat with a reasonable price! Oh… almost forgot to praise about the in house chilli, it is to die for. I want to buy it from them! Really it’s that goooo… ddd! I usually give a full star if they provide free parking. At 7pm free parking in the meter. A Must Go =)

Ordered for first time through . Food came sooner than expected which is nice. Great egg rolls but only 3 for $ 6.75, I’ll order 2 next time. Best Seafood Clay Pot I’ve ever had that wasn’t in a clay pot. Rice very crispy and lots of seafood and veggies. My son had grilled chicken & shredded pork rice plate, it looked really good and he said it was delicious. Only complaints would be that lemonade wasn’t sweet at all and had many pits in it, also ordered a side of noodles and they were just plain rice noodles with nothing on them, I expected garlic noodles but I guess I got what I ordered. So yes I’m a fan now and will definitely order from here again.

I’m origianlly from the Washington DC area, so I was used to having access to some of the dopest Vietnamese Cuisine around from the Eden Center(The East Coast’s equivalent to West Minster in Orange County in SoCal or Lion Plaza/Grand Century in San Jose, CA). Even though there are several other Vietnamese Restaurants closer to International Ave that are pretty good as well, I like this place for several reasons. 1) The owner(or that guy that is always there) is super friendly and helpful all the time. 2) They deliver… this is very helpful when I am feeling under the weather and am too lazy to walk 5 blocks to pick up my food.(The owner guy has delivered to me a few times… I feel like he is becoming my homie!!) 3) The food isn’t bad at all for being in Oakland!!! –Their Bun Bo Hue is off the hook for a Downtown Oakland spot. –Their Phở is decent… my partner is Veg and she is totally down with the Veg Phở. –Their Bo Ko is pretty flavorful. — Salted Plum drank: always makes me feel better when I am sick. –Their Goi Cuon is tasty. 4) They totally understand my Vietnamese even though I am not Vietnamese. It is a little pricey compared to your hole in the wall spots in East Oakland or anywhere suburban, but what do you expect? This spot is downtown and you’re going to end up paying more for anything that is located in any downtown area of any metropolitan or urban city. I gave them 4 stars as a combination for their excellent service, decent food(it wono’t kill you or make you gag), and because THEYDELIVER!!!

Horrible. Chicken was old and over-marinated so tough as leather. Had to throw the whole portion away. Rice was overcooked. Pricey too! Ugghh — you should go elsewhere in Chinatown for better vietnamese food.

Friendly service. Clean space. The food… bleh, was ok. I had the Crab noodle soup and salt and pepper chicken wings. Not that great. Was decent but wouldn’t order it again. Let me just say that I had better at cheaper places. The wings were not battered deep fry like the usual salt & pepper. This one is similar to soy sauce or teriyaki chicken. Nice flavor. And spicy. Mixed in with lettuces, jalepenos, green onions and… yes, tomatoes. Weird. It’s ain’t bad. Just wished it had that crunchy umph to it but it didn’t. Also, I took it to go and by time I got home, it was not crispy and not fresh. Was getting cold and soggy from all the steam trapped in the to go container. I suggest eat it at the restaurant to get that crispiness. Or when you get home, heat it up in the toaster oven or do something to make it hot & crispy. The crab noodle soup ‘bun rieu’ wasn’t great. Cheap thin small vermicelli noodles. I prefer the thick ones. Good pieces of tofu, pork blood chunks and crab/pork meat. The broth was good. Although, an hour later, I felt the MSG creeping up on my shoulders and back for a few minutes. Ugh. Wasn’t authentic compared to others. I say go to Phở King on 6th& International Blvd for their bun rieu crab noodle soup. It’s better there. Maybe I’ll try the phở next time and see how it is.

This place is open later, has good service and is clean. The spring rolls are a bit pricey and turned out a little ugly, but other than that, two thumbs up!

They took forever to deliver through … about 1.5 hours. I think that if we would have dined-in it would have been better, but ordering phở to have it delivered gives it that nasty plastic taste. The phở wasn’t that hot when it arrived to us either.

A pleasant surprise. Wonderful Goi Cuon. Crab Phở piquant with nice lemongrass finish. Try the Pancake — a specialty, and very tasty! They have a secret chili sauce which is their own special blend, super spicy and exciting!

more of a 3.5 stars. SETTING: this placed opened in october so it’s fairly new. The inside is really big compared to how it looks on the exterior and it is quite fancy! I came here for dinner and it was very quiet, maybe because it was a wednesday before thanksgiving so no one really eats out in chinatown? The lights were kinda dim but i love the decorations on the wall with paintings of(miss saigon?) and vietnamese hats. FOOD: Beef Clay Pot: Pretty decent actually. Lots of oil but I guess that makes the rice taste better… it has pineapples, mushrooms, bamboo shoots, carrots. and more. Tho this dish was satisfying, it could use a bit more flavor cause was a bit too bland for me. Chicken Fried Rice: Favorite of the night. Again, it was super oily but I think that’s what makes it so good! The chicken was just right. There was definitely more chicken than rice so this was a very meaty dish… Stir Fry with pork stir fry brocolli, cauliflower, carrots, mushrooms, all the good stuff. Not Bad but not the favorite of the night. SERVICE: We assumed that since we were the 1 out of 2 family there eating that night that our food would come out quicker but it took a while for the food to be served. the services was extremely nice tho and they would come check on you to see how the food is and we were even greeted by one of the chefs. I think I’m willing to come back to try some of their Phở and lunch specials! Authenticiy? Yep, pretty authentic!

I purposely went online, excited to write a review for this restaurant. Before you read this review, it has NOTHING to do with food or anything related to their menu, but the restaurant’s first impression to me. So here’s my story, and why I give it 5 stars not based out of the quality of their food, but the quality of their service. On a Friday right after school, I found out I had to take the bus, so I bussed to the typical Oakland Chinatown and had to wait for a transfer for the 62. Estimated time for the 62 arrive was about 15~20 minutes so I had a lot of time to kill. I looked around and saw a restaurant near the bus stop and I was thirsty so I decided to drop by the restaurant. It was empty, and I was intimidated to go in but the waiter and waitresses welcomed me with a warm smile. I asked about their drinks and they gave me the typical list of drinks available and I chose Thai Tea with pearl. While waiting, I had a brief conversation with the waitresses and waiter, where they asked what school I went to. *Note, I was carrying a huge textbook and my backpack was filled with up to 4 binders, so I definitely looked absolutely stressed and burdened with all the school work!* I waited patiently but I was scared the Thai Tea would be too expensive so I asked for the price. They looked at me for a moment and said«Later.» I was confused. Did they not have the price for the drink? I felt that they were disorganized. I waited a bit and watched them make my drink and I asked the question again where they said, «Wait.» I was worried I didn’t know if the drink was going to be super expensive, so I digged in my backpack for a couple of spare coins just in case there was tax included. The waiter presented me the Thai Tea Drink and as I grabbed it, I smiled and asked once again, «How much is it?» «Don’t worry about it.» He stated with a smile. I was shocked. «Wait, what?» «You don’t have to pay.» He answered more clearly this time and walked away to tend some other stuff. I asked again and again, asking if they were sure and they replied, «Yeah. You don’t have to pay.» Now, the story isn’t to show that you can just go into the restaurant and get a free drink, but it is about the people working there. They are kind and genuine, and warm-hearted. They are generous. Maybe it was the spurr of the moment where they decided to give a tired and stressed looking high school student a drink free of charge, but whatever it was, I would always remember this kindness. I did not eat there before, but being that it IS Miss Saigon, a popular Vietnamese restaurant that is noted for its superb Vietnamese cuisine, I will definitely check it out next time. So if the owners ever read this, Thank You. You are amazing.
