Great pizza with good quality ingredients. Good service and a homey environment. Had to wait 15 – 20 minutes but this is to be expected on a Friday evening.

We love the sauce and the bread. What a family-friendly restaurant. It was the perfect place to take my boys. We feel very welcome and comfortable from the beginning.

This an awesome little local Italian spot. It’s great for a date and small groups. The house bread is soft and crunchy. They have a great selection of pizzas as well as the tortellini and linguine(peas and prosciutto) are perfect. There is a $ 12 corking fee if you bring your own bottle. The service is attentive and friendly and never rushed.

Oh. My goodness. We got takeout from Lo Coco’s last week and it was absolutely delicious. All three dishes we ordered had sugo and good lord it was rich and tasty. The meatballs were flavorful and perfectly textured. The only thing we didn’t love was the cannoli(but we’re demanding with our cannoli). I could eat this every day.

We came in for dinner and I ordered the pappardelle bolognese! It was extraordinary! Love the noodles(imported from Italy) and the sauce went so well with it! I have been to 42 states and this bolognese dish makes the top of my chart! Service is excellent, too! A must try!

Had a lovely time here! The waiter was helpful and he obviously knew the place well. Had the meatballs with spaghetti and the clams and linguini. Both were delicious and we were stuffed by the end. Lots of families and many folks seemed to be getting the pizzas which looked great! Definitely will return, just don’t forget to bring cash!

Love the pasta here! The sugo sauce is very tasty and the pizzas are great. It’s been around for many years and still going strong. They don’t take credit cards but they do take personal checks. Ha!

Wonderful restaurant. Great service. Authentic taste. And, that’s coming from a full-blooded, 100% Italian here. I had the wide, papardelle pasta with the thick, rich, meaty tomato sauce… me and my sis shared a salad. forgot which one it was but it had tomatoes, peppers, greens, vinaigrette. it was delicious. The sis had manacotti– said it was chock full of cheese and it was delicious. The other sis had the same, she loved it and the bro in law had a meat dish that he savored thru the whole meal.(forgot what it was). Anyway– a very interesting variety of Italian dishes to choose from. They use top-quality olive oil. They even drizzled a bit over my pasta– which made me very very happy. Bread came out warm, veggies were really fresh, the cheese on the table was totally authentic. Tasted like the home-made cheeses in Southern Italy that my dad used to bring home for us when he travelled there to help my uncle on his farm. Anyway, for a really special treat, in a nice, casual atmosphere. go here. You will not be disappointed. I think if you sit in a corner, it can be a slightly romantic atmosphere at your table. Also, the meatballs were great. filled with interesting flavors. I think they put currants in them?! Either way, they’re delicious.

This place is hard to compare to any other Italian spot in the east bay! We ordered the eggplant parmesan and pesto alfredo pasta dish with an emancipata salad. Each dish was super fresh and extremely flavorful. We also ordered two cannoli to go because we could just not stuff anything else into our stomachs, but we knew we would be craving something sweet later. The service is awesome as well. I wanted sparkling apple juice so our waiter brought me out sparkling water and apple juice – since I am pregnant and can’t drink alcohol the juice/mineral water cocktail really hit the spot. He also gave us one of the cannoli on the house because he said it was small… of course they sent us home with extra delicious bread that they make there as well. Love love love this place!

You know, we have only been to the year 2016 a few times. When my family and I time travel, we usually travel to the year 2035, the people watching is much more entertaining and after the great depression of 2022 following WW3, the world reverts to using gold as a standard means of currency. It is extremely difficult to find places to eat in the year 2016, especially when you are from the year 1921. I don’t know what event occurred during this brief period when the world started putting trust in plastic currency, but it sure doesn’t help time travelers like ourselves. As my family and I were taking a celebratory birthday vacation in the year 2016, we stumbled upon this place that really reminded us of home. Finally, a place that will actually accept our paper money. The demographics of the patrons seemed to be from the same time period we were from. Even the employees walked with straight faces as if they were trained to take photos resembling a family from the dust bowl. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates American history and the people from the past.

I literally had the most amazing experience. I went here after a clinical day. I ordered the tortellini con panna and the sauce was amazing. I literally cannot get over the food here. I’ve been to Italy and this is the closest food I’ve tasted. I’m for sure gonna come back. Thank you for the good service. It’s a very intimate. THEPARAPADELLEWASTODIEFOR

Their pizza is so good; quality toppings on a crispy crust. Spaghetti and meatballs are also delicious; it’s so flavorful. It’s probably the best spaghetti I’ve ever had. Employees are very friendly. The place gets really busy so come before the rush or be prepared to wait.

Cash only?! Well… Alright. The free bread was cold and stiff as a brick. The spaghetti was alright. The tortellini was okay. Not my favorite Italian place.

Unfortunately, I don’t know if they make their own pasta(as in the actual pasta noodle itself) there. But whatever they do it’s really good. I’m surprised there are so many people griping about a $ 13 plate of spaghetti and meatballs. It was so good! I was completely satisfied with it, the portion, the taste, the authenticity. And their house red wine was an excellent touch. I would definitely give this a round 2. I wanted to get something more elaborate, however I thought it best to start off with their signature dish. A basic, but nothing basic about it other than it’s basically awesome! All this Unilocaling is making me hungry, I think I’m going to do around 2 tonight! Don’t forget that they are cash only. Ok they take checks, but who the hell really writes checks? I would feel like such a douche. The ambiance is, I think, perfect for this place. It’s a small family owned restaurant that’s the size of a really, really big living room. The aroma inside is also pretty great. It’s like getting punched in the face with happiness. The service is probably somewhere around a B-. They are attentive, but sometimes can be hard to find. That being said, it is a small, quaint place packed full of tables, so I think there’s something oddly nice about the b-. When you do get help, they are incredibly friendly, they smile a lot, and are really warm and genuine.

I actually stumbled onto this wonderful restaurant by mistake and boy am I glad I did. Since i’m of Italian descent when it comes to Italian restaurants I always compare the food to my grandma’s recipes. Therefore usually I’m not impressed. Lo Coco’s however was exceptional! The food served at this little gem is fantastic. The delicious complimentary bread is baked in-house and served warm. I tried the Pesto Tortellini, Meatballs, and Cannelloni. I highly recommend all three. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to try their pizza but it did look amazing at the table adjacent to mine. The service was outstanding! Our waitress was extremely polite and helpful. We never had to ask for a refill and she kept that amazing house bread coming haha. This is definitely a restaurant worth checking out if you are in the piedmont area and looking for some Italian delight!

It was just ok. I looked around for an upscale place to get some nice pasta with a well-executed cream sauce and that pappardelle porcini just looked so great. I’m not a hugely picky person. Even if I’m not into a thing, I’ll at least try to eat it. We ordered takeout and when my SO got into the car with the boxes, I was really hoping that the smell, which I’ll get to, came from his palermitana pizza(which was great, but not what I was in the mood for).
I think maybe something just went wrong with the preparation but I probably won’t come here again. Part of the joy of Italian food is how aromatic it is but I was really put off by the smell of my pasta and the bread too, which probably used the same garlic infused oil. It was like, kinda like bad breath. Garlic can smell rich and savory and roasted, or it can smell sour like bad breath and my pasta, especially combined with the mushroom smell, came out distinctly on the sour side. Sometimes I will eat smelly foods because they taste good anyway though, so I tried, but in the end it wasn’t worth it. The sauce was more oily than creamy, not flavorful but rich in the sense that it sat in my my stomach like a rock. I could not finish this meal because the flavor did not redeem the smell.
I really wanted to like the caprese and they did well mostly for this time of year since tomatoes are in the off season. The olives in it were the best part because they had flavor but the salad itself really needed something. Black pepper? Lemon juice? Vinegar? I was glad I was at home so I could doctor it up since the cup that came with it was mostly oil and a little bit of something else that hopefully would have given it flavor. My SO’s pizza was gorgeous: perfect sauce, fluffy crust, mushrooms weren’t too dry or soggy, sausage was savory and delicious. I think the bread that came with it all was made out of the same tasty dough, too bad about the smelly oil on it. Ok! Half the points(2.5) for his meal, another half a point for nice, quick service. No points for my meal, sorry! Swing and a miss.

This place has some fantastic food! It is totally worth the cost. They were great about helping me find vegan food. The wine and water were served in beautiful glass jars. The waiters were all very friendly. The walls are decorated with Sicilian plates. Lo coco’s has a very cozy ambiance. Also it feels wonderful to support this small family business. I recommend the Pennoni Alla Napoletana!

Perfect Italian comfort food. Rich red sauce, crispy pizza and a wide variety of cream sauce pasta dishes… all in a homey one room eatery. Interesting there are very few meat/fish/poultry options but I suppose we can all cut down a bit. A little crowded but feels like a big family dinner table. Good wine selection too.

My husband ordered me the eggplant parmigiana and it was ready in 15 min and arrived lukewarm. We live off piedmont. Mediocre eggplant parmigiana nothing special. 3 very thin slices of eggplant slathered in canned red sauce. I would give 2 stars but they gave me free flat bread that was delicious.

Ordered the Puttanesca pasta which was too saucy in my opinion; I am used to Puttanesca being much less saucy but the food was tasty. They have a great bread they make in house. They are slightly overpriced. They do not accept cards so be prepared to pay in cash or check(yes, they accept checks) They do not charge a cake fee so it’s a good place for birthdays.

I haven’t been back to this place for about 9 years and you know what, it is exactly the same great place. They have a solid menu and stick to it. Atmosphere is casual but easily a date night kind of place. Very friendly, attentive staff. Friend and I had dinner here yesterday. I had fettuccine campognola and he had a pizza(forgot the name but it had mushrooms on top) and they were both very tasty. We started with the caprese salad which wasn’t as flavorful as I had hoped, the tomatoes were a bit bland, but the portion was good for the price. And their bread is so friggin good. Crack bread. Flat crack bread. om nom nom.

Absolutely Love this place. Wife and 2 kids agree, food is consistently delicious. We drive from El sobrante to pick up Pasta from here whenever the cravings hit us. They are always super friendly, price is very reasonable and always make sure we have enough bread! Linguine and Clams and tortellini alla pana(cream sauce) is our favorite dishes also the Pizza is awesome! Cash only so be prepared for that. Not as «hip» as Dopo across the street but in my opinion«way better food and value» you won’t be disappointed !

Brilliant little neighborhood haunt. Definitely worth trying and we will totally be back. We came at 8:30pm on Saturday and apparently had just missed the rush. Beginner bread — still super fresh and flavorful David had the tortalini con Sugo. Jaded to red sauces since discovering aribiatta, David was impressed. I had the porcini pappardelle. Ohhhh yes. The truffle flavor hit me first and it was packed with porcini! We finished with a cannoli — second best I’ve ever had. =D Only negative — cash only.

Saturday night, table for 4 — got seated in like minutes. Great Service, amazing food, and it didn’t break the bank. One heads up though, they take cash only. We had spaghetti with huge meatballs, linguine with clam sauce, and a tortellini with cream sauce. Our table also split a Margherita pizza which was just fantastic. It’s been about four weeks since the first time we went, and we’ve already been back twice. This is one of our new favorites.

I have been trying to find a go-to Italian place forever, so this one was next on the list to try. After seeing numerous 5 star reviews, I was very excited to see what Lo Coco’s had to offer. I was really disappointed with the result. Remember it’s cash only! I did not know this until the very end of the meal; luckily, I had some cash on hand. We were seated very promptly after we arrived and waters were brought to the table almost immediately. Our waitress came by after about 5 minutes asking was we’d like to order. My bf and I got their spaghetti and meatballs, since that’s what they seem to be famous for. She gathered the menus and brought us bread. The bread was cold and a little hard. I was a little surprised, but I didn’t see much to it. Our spaghetti came out very fast and I quickly gathered my utensils to take what seemed to be a promising bite. The spaghetti was good, but it’s literally something I could have made at home. There was nothing special about it. I didn’t really get any wow factor that everyone seems to get when they eat from this place. Also, our waitress disappeared for the entire meal only to reappear when the check needed to be paid. I wouldn’t come back here for spaghetti, but maybe I will venture back to try something else on their menu. Hopefully this time my experience will have a better outcome.

First time to the restaurant. Showed up on a Saturday night at at about 630. ~30 min wait. CASHONLY. VERYIMPORTANT. DIDNOTKNOW this until we sat down. Not sure why they don’t have a Square or something similar. –my biggest qualm. Food was good. Nice table bread. Very attentive and pleasant service. Ordered a pizza which was burnt, but was brought a complementary side pasta, plus the pizza without its burned crust, PLUS a whole other full pizza! Wow! Now that’s how you make up for a mistake. Well done. Will return again!

This has been on my bucket list for foods for quite some time now… Finally got to take my friend there… hubby doesn’t like long lines… too bad he didn’t make it cause there wasn’t a crowd at all… I have seen so many of Unilocalers photos of spaghetti and meatballs… so good… the meatballs had all kinds of special stuff in it that made them the best I have ever tasted…2nd ones were in this little Italian restaurant by the seaport in Seattle… The service is an automatic plus… everyone was so nice… For those whom have always wanted to try… go on a weekday. .no wait… We didn’t get pizza… will have to wait for our next visit… you know it’s good when so many people came by for takeout…
