The Volker firm recently did an extensive amount of legal work for my environmental nonprofit, all pro bono. Despite the fact that we could not pay, they were responsive, compassionate, and delivered extremely high-​quality work. I can’t remember how many documents I sent to them for review, dozens, and they made sure to check back and ensure that they had all the information before proceeding with our memo. They delivered an extremely well-​written, extensive memo that clearly articulated the facts and our position. They were incredibly thorough, not to mention generous in their time; I never felt like a back-​burner client. Quite the opposite– I felt like one of their most important clients.
Thanks to this firm we had the legal backup necessary to bring all the facts and legal basis for our case, as well as proceed confidently with our activities based on their investigation. An unimpressive small law firm that specializes in environmental law. The owner is arrogant, has an inflated ego, and is not particularly competent. Because he micro-​manages the operation, everything is routed through him, and, as a result, communications with clients are abominable. There are several firms in the area with the same specialty that are considerably better.
