King’s Market has lots of microbrews in the fridge, just no pricing. same for the teas. sodas priced higher than usual. (+.20)

There is nothing funny about a stale bag of cool-​ranch bugles. I was so excited that I thought Bugles were making some kind of Doritoes-​inspired comeback, but no– this bag must have just been from 1993 :(
And I wont even get INTO how stale the Bubble-​Yum is!
Do not buy anything but booze here!

Really nice family-​run corner store. They pay attention to neighborhood requests and stock specialty items (like fake meat & soy milk) as well as the standard corner store fare. Mrs. King has been running this store for a long time — at least 15 years since the first time I visited. Even though there is a store closer to my house, I will always walk the extra distance to Kings.

Only recently was I able to make it into this store. I’m happy to have finally gone in because now I know where to get decent beer options! The store is clean and organized. They seem to also have a large assortment of food, which is great when the you can’t make it to a grocery store.

Kings Market was my local liquor store for a good number of years (ok well, one of 3 within a couple blocks… but this was my favorite), You could always find Mrs. King sitting behind the counter, pictures of her family and lots of neighborhood kids posted up all around the register, giving you a warm smile as you picked up your six pack for the night… Uh I mean week… yeah. They have a decent beer selection and charge about the same you would pay in a larger supermarket.
They carried all the basics, beer, liquor, candy, etc. and if you forgot to go grocery shopping for the week, you could always grab a frozen burrito or some ramen or some other quick bite to eat here.
Unfortunately a couple years ago, they closed for a period of time to do some remodeling and shortly after reopening, it seems a new crew took over the shop. I don’t know if they are related to the King family or if it’s a whole new owner, but the vibe definitely changed noticeably and I was less inclined to swing by after work. It’s mostly younger dudes in there now and while they aren’t blatantly rude, you get the feeling you are more of an annoyance than anything… a big change from the days when Mrs. King would greet you by name and have your stuff rung up before you even got to the counter.
