H C Capwells-olde chinatown uptown

Built in 1929, Capwells was a multi-​storied department store selling electronics, luxury items, clothes, furniture, etc. .it was the place to go before shopping centers opened in the suburbs.
i spent most of my youth here on the 3^rd floor watching color tv, (only black & white at home). on the lst floor, i spent my monies on the various candies they had. mom like to go in the basement for the discounted items.
santa claus came here once a year spouting that «good boy» stuff. seems that claus guy had lots of relatives. santas were soon appearing everywhere and they all looked alike.
