I happen to walk by this cute store on my way back to my car so I popped on in to see what they had to offer. Wow, this place is such a hidden gem of a store that I can not believe I would probably never have come here had my car not been parked on this street. They have such unique gift items that you will find something for everyone. The best thing I saw was a macaron wallet? Really so so cute for the baker in your life or for that little one who is into that easy bake oven. If there is ever a time where you just can’t think something to get that finicky person, then give this place a try!

I really miss this gallery! It was sort of a landmark for the neighborhood as a lexicon for contemporary ideas in art & design. That being said, it was hardly ever open, and very few things had price tags. Perhaps it was better left as a concept than a real store front, but I desperately miss looking through the windows as a passerby for inspiration!

I’ve noticed this place quite a few times, I haven’t been yet but I hear fabulous things about it! Nothing better than supporting local Artists and Buisinesses. Especially when I am engaged to one of these local artists whose work can currently be viewed and bought here! So the Pop-up shop came and went and it was a successful wine mixer! Uprententious friendly people and beautiful art surrounding, i wouldn’t have it any other way.

gorgeous… warm and not intimidating! i felt welcome and free to browse around in this design store/art gallery/community space. while they have their design pieces, they also are supporting local artists and focusing on smaller, affordable pieces of art, jewelry, and pieces! they hosted a day of the dead event with local artist, yum mexican hot chocolate, beer, warm and unpretentious people and art! how much better does it get? they are trying to also start having events or feature affordably priced pieces(like art, prints, jewelry) alongside their design masterpieces. Love the vibe, love supporting someone born and raised in Oakland, and local Oakland business!

my friend jessica introduced me to this gallery-artshop lovechild. i’ve walked by it a couple of times and always found the furniture pieces intriguing. they’re so unique and exude specialness. though costly, they’re not AS costly as you would expect. i’m lusting after the I-beam glass end table. but i need my own apartment first.

Went last Friday. I had no idea this place existed. I also don’t frequent d-town Oakland much so I wasn’t surprised by something that seemed to just«pop» up. Anyway, my friend frequents Drift(also owned by Alfonso) so he knew all about it. It was a quaint space with some really brilliant pieces. I don’t know much about art so I won’t even get into describing. What I do know is as we were walking up, this little kid out front tugged on his moms arm and whispered something to her. She laughed softly and said, «Well, honey you’re right. But, I don’t think it was the artists intention to make it look like broccoli.» SO cute! If you can afford to spend money on art, go here. If you can’t go here anyway and window shop. It’s fun. AND Alfonso and his crew(mom, fiancé, etc) are doing a huge part in helping revitalize d-town Oakland.

The incredibly talented Alfonso Dominguez brings his signature artisan furnishings to Old Oakland. The airy gallery space is lovely, and the pieces on display mak me wish I was both richer and hipper. I love his swoopy, nature-influenced style. It has a stripped down warmth about it. He also did the interiors of Drift and Tamarindo, so you can do a little neighborhood tour of his work.
