You’ve seen a few dozen pilates/yoga/whatever instructors, you’ve seen them all. So I approached my session open to learning, but with an air of healthy skepticism — and I was blown away by Emily’s attention to detail, and how many new moves as well as little«tricks» about my body I learned. And I had fun. Emily is very sensitive to differences between students, and aware how men can be much tighter than women — unlike some Pilates instructors whose starting position is outside my comfortable range of motion. I’ll be back.

Emily is an excellent pilates instructor — takes her work very seriously, and very professional. I have worked with her now for about 6 months, and it has improved my posture and core strength tremendously. She is particularly keen and sensitive regarding injury issues, and injury prevention. She also encourages a holistic approach to health, often wanting to discuss integration of the core strengthening skills and postural balance into daily life activities.

I’ve been training with Emily for more than 2 years now and find that she has fulfilled and exceeded my expectations for a Pilates trainer. I always feel comfortable with her, she is never impatient or annoyed and her knowledge and skill at teaching this discipline is masterful. Emily has also helped me in recommending other Working Body practitioners, such as an applied kinesiologist(Don Lawson) who has done wonders to locate key muscles in my back that have been giving me problems and then also a local acupuncturist(Lisa Zeppegno) that has been able to release those muscles by working on their trigger points. Emily sees me twice a week and if I had more time, it would be three times a week. I now have a better knowledge of how my muscles work and how I need to take care of them.
