Abel did an amazing job… again! We have had his crew come out to our company lunch once a year for the past 5 years. The food is always delicious, service is on point and everyone ends up with a food coma!

Abel provided amazing service to our party of 25. He was easy to communicate with, prompt, incredibly friendly and helpful (he even helped us set up tables and chairs — things totally unrelated to serving food, but he wouldn’t take no for an answer!). The food was delicious and a great price. Everyone loved it. If I have another party like this I will use him again.

Long long line if you can ‘t wait for 15 mins outside with cold weather don’t come here, food was great ! Price is cheap !

Abel’s team did such a great job catering my husband’s birthday party! Francisco was our cook, and he was so professional. He was 15 minutes early, very polite and helpful, and did a great job cooking for us. All of my guests said how much they loved the food and many asked for their info. I highly recommend having them cater with their taco truck — they bring along an entire condiments bar with un-​ending tubs of guacamole and various types of salsas.
They only communicate by phone or texts so there was some miscommunication along the way. But the end result was well worth it!

Abel and his staff recently provided catering services for our company’s pool party. With such short notice, just two weeks away, Abel confirmed that he was able to cater for a party of 150+ staff. Abel’s staff got to the location early, were dressed the part, and we’re able to set up two grills to cook to order quesadillas, burritos, and tacos. The food was delicious and each order was huge! I had left overs for the rest of the day AND the next day from just one order of quesadilla! I would definitely work with Abel again! I highly recommend Abel for catering services!

Excellent food! We had such an amazing time at my daughter’s baptism party! Our guests loved everything and were all so impressed! Definitely all you can eat… only wish I had room to eat more! Ismael, our chef, was fabulous, so friendly and professional, arrived right on time and took care of everything. I got to eat, mingle, and make drinks for our guests, didn’t have to worry about the food at all. I bought paper plates, napkins, forks, and chips, that’s it. We’ll be calling again in the future for our next big party!

Wow. We used Abel and his team at our party in a park. Not only did they make it easy for us, the food was delicious. We’re tough critics since we’re Mexican. They nailed it.

Abel and his son catered my daughter’s one year old birthday party at the zoo today and they were awesome! The food was delicious and Abel was so personable and gracious. Everyone raved about the food and they are ready to book him for the next event as am I. I could not have been more pleased with the service and reasonable price. Abel was easy to communicate with and responded quickly to phone calls and texts. I would highly recommend this vendor for any event!

Such a great setup, nice presentation and very good food. Abel and his team catered a fashion show for us in Moraga and he is definitely going to be referred to all friends and family in Lamorinda.

I just had Abel Lopez cater my wedding on May, 24^th. The food was delicious and I had to many wonderful compliments from guests saying how much they enjoyed the food.
Abel operates very differently from other caterers. Like most wedding caterers, you have to sign a contract and pay a deposit. With Abel, I just called two months before the wedding, told him my date, he confirmed that he was available that day, and he said to call back a week before the wedding to give him a final head count. No contract signed and no deposit. A week before, I called him, confirmed the guest count (112 people) and confirmed the time.
On the day of the wedding, two guys from his teamed arrived 30 minutes early to set up. They brought everything they needed, I didn’t have to do anything but tell them where to set up. They served quesadillas, burritos, and tacos with chicken, pork, or beef, plus rice and beans and all the fixings. They served all the guests quickly and no one waited in line for more than a few minutes. After the two hours was up, they packed up all their things and left. It was so easy. They were so nice and the food was great!
I highly recommend!

Able the Taco Guy is a winner. He catered a baby shower for 30 today and it was a win in ever way. The food is amazing. The service is impeccable, and the cost is unbeatable. $ 12/​head in the east bay, a bit higher further out, but, still affordable.
I can’t recommend Able and his crew too much! Book him! AMAZING!

Abel’s team came last night for our party of about 50 people and everything was wonderful. The food was terrific and the service amazing. I would highly recommend Abel and his team!

Abel and his team are amazing for events! We’ve worked with them twice now and both times, people rave about the food (and even the pulled in a million directions Executive Director makes SURE to get some tacos!!) They are easy to work with, professional and my husband is requesting they do my family fundraiser every year.

This review is long overdue. We hired Abel to cater my son’s 3^rd birthday almost two years ago based off of Unilocal reviews. The process was very easy. I called him and asked if he was available. He said he was available and put me down in his calendar. There is no written contract which made the whole deal a lot less formal and somewhat sketchy, but he promised he would show up. I figured that he must have been good based on all of the Unilocal reviews. The pricing was great and the food was delicious. Our guests were very impressed.

The Food
Abel was extremely easy to work with for our party. He catered a party for more than 50 guests with ease. His menu includes tacos, burritos and quesadillas with your choice of carne asada, chicken or carnitas. He also includes rice & beans and all sorts of sides for your meal, this includes guacamole, cheese, sour cream, three different types of salsa, cilantro, chopped onions, basically anything you can think of to put on taco. All he needed was a table and an electronic plug for his grill. He showed up 30 minutes before we were supposed to serve and was up and running within 15 minutes.
The Service
His staff was extremely professional and courteous to all our guests and engage them in conversation throughout the night. They were also more than willing to accommodate all of our guests food requests for various types of dishes. Not a single person complained and everyone thought the food was amazing. Can’t beat that.
The Cost
Able’s services are extremely competitive. He charges per person ($ 12) rather than per taco or burrito (which is the case for several of the other catering companies that I contacted). He also charges less for kids under a certain cage. He stayed for roughly 2 hours and was able to satisfy everyone at our party. Note the only thing that enables services don’t include is chips, dessert and silverware.
If you live in the East Bay and are looking for someone to cater your party with delicious tacos, burritos and quesadillas give Abel a call, I promise you won’t be disappointed.
Note: Everything is done over the phone. There is no contract to sign or deposit to put down. This is somewhat terrifying when you have a large party planned but Abel & his staff called the week before and confirmed everything and showed up on time!

We hired El Paisa Taco Truck to cater my wedding in Alameda. Abel was great at communicating with me ahead of time and gave me all the vendor paperwork I required for the venue without hassle. We touched bases a few days before and then he showed up day-​of ready to rock and roll!
We had about 130 people and they handled it like pros — they were slammed but they fed everyone super fast and everyone LOVED it! They set up a table on the back patio with a grill and all the fixins. you just told them what you wanted and they made it right in front of you, hot and fresh! I had people who didn’t even like Mexican food tell me they ate two of the massive burritos. Abel and his crew were super nice and put up with the disorganization on my side. As previously stated, you have to provide your own plates, utensils, napkins, and chips, but at $ 12 a head with no tax it was a STEAL compared to other caterers I looked into. I cannot highly recommend them enough and will definitely be using them again if I have another big event. Also, they have a restaurant by the same name on International that is delicious as well!

We hired El Paisa Taco Truck to cater for my daughter’s baptism yesterday. I had just booked them 10 days ago since I’m such a great last minute party planner. Abel was the main contact person for pricing, reservation, info, etc, and I was glad they were available to cater considering it was really last minute. He was very easy to work with and was always fast at returning my calls/​text.
The guests loved the food. My cousins said the tacos and burritos were on point. Quesadillas were also good. Valentin was our chef of the day. I was surprised when he came by himself. I thought there would have been 2 workers but since my party was small (for 50 people), he said one was enough. Valentin was awesome and the portions that they give is so generous. We provided one table for condiments and man, they were loaded. My guests killed the guac, salsa and sour cream. Talk about gettin my money’s worth. He was there for 2 hours serving freshly made tacos, burritos and quesadillas. We ate everything. I definitely recommend them for your next event.

There are several trucks I frequent, but I have been a faithful customer to the one for at least 20 years. Back when my aunt would order 10 at a time! LOL.
This truck has the absolute best tasting meat! Steak, Chicken, tripas, carnitas, all taste really good and juicy. There is nothing worse than a dry taco!
These are what tacos are supposed to look, feel and taste like. This plate…$ 2.50!!! Boom!!!
