Dr. Larson has been my primary care doctor for over 15 years. I believe her attention, focus and smarts are the reason I am still doing well at 65 years of age. Unlike some physicians, she never hurries me along or keeps me from fully going over my reasons for a visit. She listens to my(most visits) long litany of problems and inevitably comes up with options for each. If a specialist is needed, she does not hesitate to refer me to an expert. Just one quick example of the above; when I first started care with Dr. Larson many years ago, she wanted me to do an annual PSA test. My previous doctor was against the test. I also didn’t want the PSA, but reluctantly deferred to Dr. Larson. Years later(unbeknownst to me) my PSA elevated, Dr. Larson was paying attention, caught it, got me the right referrals. Turned out I had early aggressive prostate cancer, which was caught in time, which is why I am still here. Bottom line; excellent doctor.

I’ve had Dr. Larsen as my personal physician for almost 10 years. I have been extremely pleased with the care I have received from her at Kaiser Permanente Oakland. I have multiple ongoing chronic conditions. She is always extremely responsive, professional, caring, and makes sure that if I need additional care I am quickly seen by the appropriate person. And she has helped me take the preventive steps I have needed to best manage my health and minimize flare-ups. I also feel that she keeps on top of my case and reaches out to me when appropriate. I would highly recommend her.

I’ve been a patient for 13 years, and Dr. Larsen has been excellent. She can help navigate a complicated system, and refer you to good doctors. The best part is that she responds very quickly to emails, which makes everyone’s lives easier, and saves time on the phone and in waiting rooms.

I feel a little bad about reviewing this doctor. I was her patient at Oakland, Kaiser a few years ago. She was sweet, albeit a little detached. Well, she diagnosed me with eczema after looking at my skin from across the room. I asked her how she knew and she said she could tell, and that I needed to moisturize. I did this repeatedly, to no avail. Then, at my insistence and with some manipulation, I went to the Derm. Dept. at Oakland and saw a very nice nurse who gave me much instruction on eczema. Sores, in the mean time, were getting worse. Then I saw a nice, young doctor in the same department who reiterated the same instructions. I gave up foods, one at a time, to see if that would help. After about 2 years of suffering, I heard about another doctor at Kaiser Richmond. I insisted on a biopsy. Turns out I had an autoimmune disease which had run rampant for all this time. Dr. Larsen never apologized for the misdiagnoses, which cost me much time and money, not to mention having so much outbreak that I had to take a powerful drug that can by very dangerous. It made me very sick, and made my hair fall out! All this could have been avoided if I had been able to deal with this disease from the onset.

Dr. Larsen is the worst doctor with the worst attitude of any doctor I have ever seen. She is condescending, rude, nasty, judgmental and acts as a know it all but in reality is a know it nothing. When approached by a patient to discuss a condition and how to treat it, if the patient asks questions concerning the doctor’s treatment plan they are berated, told it is the way she will treat you and if you do not agree with her treatment plan she will«fire» the patient. Call me foolish but I thought doctors are supposed to listen to their patients. All she cares about is dictating what she«knows» is the right way and if you don’t like it you can go F**k yourself and get out of my office”.
