Many months ago I saw a deal on One of those sites for 3 Brazilian waxes with Celita for $ 70. I try helping smaller businesses out when they post deals like this by asking if they’d prefer a cash payment in the deal amount rather than booking through the site since those deal sites take a 50% fee away from the small businesses. Booking an appointment with Celita was very difficult (this was before she had online booking) I called Diva Styles salon multiple times before somebody answered. I was asked for my contact info and that Celita would call me shortly. A couple days went by before I got a text. We scheduled an appointment for that next week and I brought $ 70 cash + a tip to purchase my 3 waxes. The wax wasn’t all that, it was more painful than most waxes I’ve had. I think she uses soft strip wax which is bad for your skin and is more painful than hard wax. I decided to still go through with purchasing the 3 wax deal since we already agreed to that over the phone and the end result was the same as most other places (just more painful and irritating to get there). I gave her the $ 70 and she wrote my name down on a piece of paper with a million other things on there. I was told to remind her next time I paid upfront. I felt kind of uncomfortable doing that, like she could just run away with my $ 70 and there is no proof that I paid but I decided to trust her. Making a 2^nd appointment was about down right impossible. I would text her and ask if she had availability over the upcoming weekend and wouldn’t get a reply half the time. The other times she would say she’s busy with her kids and can’t wax me. I would then book an appointment at other salons just to get the job done. A couple months later it was the same frustration. I’d text her «hey Celita! You have any availability this Saturday? Any time works.» A couple days would go by w/​o reply. I would text a follow up «??? Do you have time»? She’d reply «no sorry I’m with my kids, how about during the week?» uhh no dear I don’t have time during the week, I work. I pretty much gave up on trying until the other day I got an email that I could book her services online. Awesome! I made an appointment for today at 10:30 am. I got down to the salon at 10:29 and Celita came out to welcome another client. I sat there and waited for 15 mins before leaving since I had a yoga class to attend at 11 am. I was so pissed. I double checked on my phone that I booked the correct time and yes it shows my appointment was supposed to be from 10:30 — 10:45. About 5 mins after leaving Celita called me and asked if I was going to reschedule. I told her no I am done. I never want to waste my time trying to get another appointment. She didn’t even apologize and she blamed her other client by telling me she showed up 15 minutes late for her appointment. I think Celita handled the situation very poorly. I wish I had bought the wax through the deal site so I could ask for a partial refund. I feel completely screwed over, I paid $ 70 cash for 1 mediocre wax. Also, wasted so much time trying to book a 2^nd appointment. If you’re looking for a good waxer, do yourself a favor and steer clear of Celita!

First impression gets the five stars from me!!! Thank you Celita !!! Fast yet detail does the best job anyone can ask for! I got a manzillian first visit gets a discount. Easy to make appointments online and easy to find a few blocks away from the 580. Clean place and she made me feel comfortable right away with her nice personality. I will be back soon in a month.

All I can say is Celita is the best Waxer hands down!!! I was referred to her by a friend and I wouldn’t trade her for the world. She is very accommodating to scheduling requests. She immediately responds to text. She talks to you during your session and makes you feel totally at peace! This girl has skills and gets you in and out!!! I am a repeat customer for life!!!

This review is for the waxing services provided by Celita. I absolutely have to give her credit for the work she does. I received a Brazilian Wax. She is more than amazing. She’s pretty much top-​shelf. Celita has a great personality I definitely felt comfortable around her. No awkward silence. Definitely professional. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would rate the pain level at about a 2. Quick and thorough. I purchased a Groupon for three waxes. Even after I use all of my Groupon I will still go back to her. She’s that good. Found my new esthetician for life.

CELITA IS AMAZING. She does an amazing job with waxing; fast and painless (for me), was done in 20 minutes. Also very friendly and funny. Highly recommend ! Can text her to schedule appointments !

Celita did an amazing job on my underarms and Brazilian! She was very quick and gentle. There are times I go to places and some parts of the Brazilian are incredibly painful and they go so slow. Just get it out of the way!!! Her prices are also wonderful compared to most salons. Love supporting small businesses and her. :)

Celita is amazing. She made me feel so comfortable and calm about having a Brazilian done. She walked me through everything she did and this lady knows her stuff! She was so friendly, funny and sweet. I will be spreading the word about her fabulous services!

I bought a Groupon for the waxing service yesterday at 4:30pm. I phoned the number provided on Unilocal at 5:00pm and left a voice message with my number for them to contact me back, as there was no answer. I then phoned again just before they closed at 6pm with no answer and assumed they would phone me back today when they open. When they had not phoned me back by about 11am, I phoned the number provided on the Groupon and left a voice msg as well as at the number provided by Unilocal and then tried phoning both numbers again an hour ago with no luck– it should not be this hard to try and make an appointment. I have left 4 voice messages and phoned a couple of times with no reply. My advice: don’t get the Groupon unless you can get some one to make an appointment with before you buy it. I will be returning my Groupon.

First time coming here with the help of Unilocal and I loved it! I was in desperate need of some hair therapy and Jae (Johnetta) the Stylist/​Owner hooked me up with a PressNCurl & trim. She’s really professional and really knows how to multitask even when juggling a few clients at a time. The salon itself is really clean, looks super nice and soo relaxing. I also wasn’t there for 6 to 8 hours like you would other salons — she was pretty fast but definitely gets the job done. I love the way my hair came out and I will definitely be back!

Celita is AMAZING!
She’s quick, thorough and friendly. She will talk you through what she is doing, and carry a conversation to keep you distracted. I found her on Groupon and I will keep coming back! You can be in and out in less than 20 minutes, but closer to 15 on average.

This has been one of the only times that I have truly found a hair stylist I will keep coming back to. Let’s just say I had very very difficult box color stuck in my hair. My hair was basically a dark blue and I called LaLa to help me get it to a dark brown. When I arrived at my appointment she was prepared and ready. She stuck with me from 12:30 pm to 4:40 pm. If that isn’t heart and talent, I don’t know what is. She did an amazing job, she absolutely knows her cosmetology, and she is a pleasure to talk to. I highly recommend her. I only have phenomenal things to say about her. Do yourself a favor and set an appointment with LaLa. Thank you LaLa!

Celita is super nice. She does a very clean job at waxing and the facility is very clean. Totally recomend it! I got a groupon discount and it worked perfectly.

I had my first appointment with Celita August 4^th. She was professional, kind, explained the process of everything she did and was doing and made me feel VERY comfortable with my first time getting waxed. I will definitely be going back to her for my waxing needs.

First time at Diva’s and I loved the atmosphere! Celita is the best esthetician (I love how she does my Brazilian waxes!!) as always I love how professional she is. This is my second time going to Lisa and I am SO happy with the way my hair turned out. As a person with mixed textured hair (some very curly, some wavy) it has been very hard to find someone who knows how to deal with my hair. Lisa always knows the products to suggest and what my hair needs. I am definitely going back, I am so happy!

The salon is very comfortable and relaxing and my appointments are exclusively just for me, which ensures a timely departure.
I have received several compliments on my hair since coming here. I highly recommend Diva Styles, they cater to everyone and all hair types. Simply call and make an appointment with Jae, she’s fantastic. They are even tech savvy, I always receive email reminders about my appointments and electronic receipts!

I happened to get a Groupon for here, and Lala contacted me to set up my appointment.
The salon is a very unassuming storefront, but once you walk inside, you feel like you’re in a proper salon. Lala took the time to talk to me, ask me about what I wanted, and gave me a great haircut, color, and style.
There were only a handful of people in the salon (I was the last appointment of the day), and it was so quiet and relaxing. I was in and out relatively quickly (although I know these greys are persistent enough to take time), and I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on my hair since then.

LISA «LaLa» Anderson is beautiful person and she’s also one of the BEST stylist for a press and curl and color in OAKLAND!
When I walk in to her place of business, I’m greeted with a smile and treated with the utmost care and consideration. I have her undivided attention and she has images to show me of her work. She takes the time to really get to know you, your budget and more importantly really look at your hair. She listens and is patient and kind. I have expressed my anxiety with salons, given I’ve had too many bad experiences.
But Diva Styles Salon is beautiful and has warm colors on the wall to match warm personality. Her music selection is old school R&B and Soul. She also uses some old school curlers for those like myself, who really need our investment to last and want a nostalgic throw back all the way around. Lisa uses great smelling products too and my hair hasn’t felt this clean and healthy in a long time.
I highly recommend her because sitting in her chair feels like you’re just hanging out with a friend, she’s polite and professional, takes credit cards and above all her salon lives up to it’s name. I left Diva Styles Salon smiling and feeling like a Diva with a whole lot of style. I have high expectations so trust me that says A LOT.
