First of all, this is one of the only Oakland liquor stores east of Lake Merritt where I can find a nice, cold *Diet* Snapple. Y’all know I love my side of town, but can a white bitch get an eating disorder up in heya? Sheesh. Second of all, the lady who works here says she likes my hair. FIVEFUCKINGSTARS. I know who my friends are.

It’s your average Oakland convenience store: stocks up on all of the things that you would need during a sports break, lunch break, or whenever. The cute little sandwich sign out front announces that they also hook you up with cell phone stuff. It’s nice. But perhaps the most evil thing they’ve managed to do here is place the cash register directly over the ice-cream bar freezer. So, as you’re getting your change and you’re calmly ignoring the lottery tickets staring you in the face, the popsicles and ice-cream bars are shouting out to you from below, tempting, and teasing you. taunting you from under the tempered glass. «Just one little ice cream bar won’t hurt…» Damn you.

Yea — first to review my local liquor store! The owners are super nice although they did seem sad when they found out my bf was Chinese and not Vietnamese. We stop here all the time for beer and snacks. They stock my 25 cent boxes of Lemonheads which makes me super happy. Beer is on the high side cost wise but they do stock good IPA’s :) Best of all we can walk here all stumbly drunk. Yea!
